sross44 432 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Question for you all. I have SSL setup through Cloudfare. When a remote user connects via Emby Connect does it point to the secure domain, or does it somehow reroute to the local network? Also, is there an easy way to see how someone is connected?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 It will go through Cloudflare. Have you looked at the Activity box/section on the Web Dashboard?
sross44 432 Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 Quote I thought it did.... and yet when I went to remove my server (per a suggestion in another post about another issue) now when I log in via connect I don't even see my server. Not sure what I did here.. but damned if now nothing is working haha. Was working fine just really slow a few min ago.
Carlo 4561 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 OK forget Emby Connect for now and concentrate on getting remote setup working. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup Test with the remote URL shown on the dashboard and with a local account setup on your server. Once that works, you can then move on to Emby Connect.
sross44 432 Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 It's the weirdest thing.. When I do that... I get "other options" Enter User Manually / Login with Connect / Switch Server / Send Logs If I click switch server my server shows up, but when I click on that, it takes me right back to the options i just mentioned above
Carlo 4561 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 (edited) You will want to enter the server manually using the remote URL address and port and do not want to auto find the server which will be the local ip/port. But just to get things tested don't use an app, just use a web browser and directly enter the remote URL. Edited August 30, 2021 by cayars

Carlo 4561 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 OK now go into users menu on the web dashboard and remote the Emby Connect username and click save. Then add the Emby Connect username back again and click save. Try logging in again. 1
sross44 432 Posted August 31, 2021 Author Posted August 31, 2021 I was able to get that working. I appreciate the help. I actually deleted the user(s) who were having issues and readded them in. The initial stuff didn't work but that did it for some reason.
