Media Date Handling by File Creation Date

Dear all,

as introduced here (link) emby offers two different ways of handling new media.

I set emby to "use file creation date" in extended library setting. After this, I added a new directory of files. 

In directory view, I can sort by the "added" setting and the list sorted fine using the file creation date.

In album view, the behavior of the "added" setting is different, because the list is sorted by the scanned into database date.

 

I can see in the Metadata-Manager, that the date was set correctly using the file creation date. When I select "edit metadata" on the album view, I can see another date - the date where the file was scanned.

So it seems not be possible to sort the album view by file creation date?

Yes this has been mentioned in another topic as Albums are virtual now (made from track metadata), but Luke mentioned changing this behavior to use the track creation date for the Album in a future release.
