scb99 245 Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 I want to have Emby identify this program BBC3 year 1965 Tmdb id 8694-bbc-3 imdb id tt0179006 so when I identify it, it can find bbc3 all right, but when I hit ok it gets replaced by something called “Hacker’s Birthday Bash” i challenge anyone to get this to work. I think it’s because when Emby finds the series, it then goes to this tvdb to fill out the data, which then gives a wrong response sigh…
Solution GrimReaper 4763 Posted August 26, 2021 Solution Posted August 26, 2021 Put TMDB on top of your meta-providers list (or only one selected) in your Library settings, once scraped lock the item and revert providers list as desired. 1
scb99 245 Posted August 26, 2021 Author Posted August 26, 2021 Or in other words remove this tvdb? Ok let’s see
scb99 245 Posted August 26, 2021 Author Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) Yayyy actually i just moved tvdb down the priority list, and that fixed it thanks a lot Edited August 26, 2021 by scb99 1
Happy2Play 9785 Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Yes this sort of a defect with Identify as provider order is still used when actually getting the item.
scb99 245 Posted August 26, 2021 Author Posted August 26, 2021 Thanks @Happy2Play I’m progressively grasping how this works Although I think improvements are possible, at least I can mostly make things work now cheers

It's by design because if you refresh the metadata later it will get refreshed based on your library settings such as the order.
