How can I delete duplicate entries

Hello Guys,

with some actors the films are shown twice.

How can I delete the duplicate entries?

e.g Keanu Reeves has two entries with the movie: Bill and Ted Face The Music

or Lorraine Toussaint has two entries with the movie: Concrete Cowboy

Do you by chance have the media in two different libraries?

Do the paths appear the same for both items?

The path and the file are the same.

I have only one movie library.

 

The only way , i found out, is to remove the move, do a scan and insert the move again.

Also i found a actor with 4 entries of a movie

This is a script I found. Detects more than 1 entry of anything in .mkv, .mp4, .avi format and can be edited in a text editor to change that. Runs in Windows.

Hello Arly,

nice script but i m not looking for double files or folder.

What i mean is: 

Many actors have double entries 

see example pics:

(i have onle one movie library, all referenced film exist only one time (path and file)

what i have to do to delete the double entries ?

Hi.  Do you have two copies of those movies?

It's possible they are misidentifying too. Perhaps the naming convention is a bit off, and when Emby scrapes for metadata it detects something else, which also happens to be in his library. This happened to me a couple of times previously with various movies or series.

Hello Guys,

for all double entries:

1 Library

1 Path and File

The path and file is showed at the infofield at the movie.

The date at the infofield is the same.

On harddisk exist only one folder and the movie file is only at this folder.

Looking at the url when you click on these duplicate items they have different item ids correct?

This would most likely mean a database issue.

Have you tested removing a item that appears multiple time and do a library scan, then search to see if item still exist in Emby?

If you test that, be sure you have a backup of the media...

Yes thats right, the ID of the entries are different.

with delete of one entry, both entrys are remove also the file on HDD.

 

is there a way to detect the double entries at the database? (of course not the ID no. but the rest of data?)

Can somebody explain me how it can be that one movie in one folder get 2 or more database ID's
