m.a.biglin 1 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Is there any way to make Emby pull the english dub cast for a series instead of the Japanese dub cast? I have the library set up Preferred metadata language : English Country: United States. I have the anime plug-in. Of the options for series metadata downloaders, only MAL (MyAnimeList) seems to show the English cast on their website. I chose a couple series to experiment with. I removed from EMBY and deleted all NFO's, scanned the library and then copied the episodes back into EMBY. I disabled every series option except MAL. It didn't give me a series summary or cast. I refreshed metadata- replace all, and nothing happened. I refreshed metadata-Search for missing metadata and nothing happened I re-enabled TVDB and chose refresh metadata-search for missing metadata, and within seconds I had the summary and the japanese dub cast. I can manually replace all the cast, but that is time consuming and if I don't remember to Lock the metadata, it will be replaced by the Japanese cast again as soon as metadata is refreshed. If it is not possible, it's not possible. But it seems like it should be.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 You get the metadata available on your preferred scrapers. For TVDB and themoviedb, that only occasionally includes the US voice cast for anime.
m.a.biglin 1 Posted August 23, 2021 Author Posted August 23, 2021 Correct. I have MAL selected and they have the info, but EMBY won't download any of it (even a summary). It downloads fine from everybody else, but nobody else has it.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 MAL??? Is that from a plugin and, if so, which one?
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 OK, so you're using the anime plugin. I'd suggest you check in the plugins forum. I'd love to help but I don't like that plugin at all. The data it pulls is not something I want near my media collection. 1
