netherking 0 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 (edited) OS: Ubuntu 20.04.2 Server I tried identifying a movie but when I pick the movie and press ok, it starts loading and never stops. This has happened to me before and it keeps happening randomly and sometimes it happens with all movies or only specific ones, then it starts working later again randomly. I'm not sure about the cause of this but I found this in logs. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. This is my first time posting on here so I'm sorry if I did something wrong. 2021-08-22 00:41:32.507 Error App: Error creating thumbnails for /home/lenovoo/Videos/Batman v Superman- Dawn of Justice (2016).mp4 *** Error Report *** Version: 4.6.4.0 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Linux version 5.4.0-81-generic (buildd@lgw01-amd64-052) (gcc version 9.3.0 (Ubuntu 9.3.0-17ubuntu1~20.04)) #91-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jul 15 19:09:17 UTC 2021 Framework: .NET Core 3.1.13 OS/Process: x64/x64 Runtime: opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 4 Data path: /var/lib/emby Application path: /opt/emby-server/system System.UnauthorizedAccessException: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/home/lenovoo/Videos/Batman v Superman- Dawn of Justice (2016)-320-10.bif' is denied. ---> System.IO.IOException: Permission denied embyserver.txt Edited August 22, 2021 by netherking Added logs
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Devs will want to see the full log. But the title references Identify but you post a log snippet for denied permissions to write the bif (interval images) file with media. So are you troubleshooting permissions or Identify?
netherking 0 Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 (edited) I'll get the full log but the problem is with Identifying but in logs it shows an error with permissions. It was the only error I found so I thought I should share it Edited August 22, 2021 by netherking
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Looking at your flat file naming scheme Emby is not going to Identify very well. All the item prefixed with Watch are undentifiable. example no results returned clicking the api link shows you the returned results. 2021-08-22 00:21:24.164 Info App: MovieDbProvider: Finding id for item: Watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 2021-08-22 00:21:24.165 Info HttpClient: GET https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=f6bd687ffa63cd282b6ff2c6877f2669&query=Watch+Alvin+and+the+Chipmunks&language=en Is that what you are referring to? As for your permissions issue it would appear Emby does not have write permissions to save bif with media. So you would have to fix the permissions issue or no select "Save video preview thumbnails into media folders" per library.
netherking 0 Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 Oh, so the permission issue is because I have that selected, I could turn that off I dont really mind, I just thought it might be better to have it on. I'll rename all of them using Bulk Rename Utility, I identify manually though, does Emby automatically identify with just the name?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Just now, netherking said: Oh, so the permission issue is because I have that selected, I could turn that off I dont really mind, I just thought it might be better to have it on. I'll rename all of them using Bulk Rename Utility, I identify manually though, does Emby automatically identify with just the name? In your case with a flat structure Emby pretty much uses filename (parsing everything before the year), where if media was in there own individual folders it would use folder name. This may help with permissions if you want to save with media, if not a fellow Linux user would have to assist. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32218-file-permissions-guide-for-new-linux-users/
netherking 0 Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 (edited) I renamed most of the files and also deleted the library because I think it was stuck scanning the library files or something, it showed it at 90% for a while. I remade the library and just used the default settings instead of changing it this time, and it seems to be working and it Identified some automatically so I'm going to do the rest. I think it may have been one of the settings I changed before when adding the library for the first time. Thanks for helping though. Edited August 22, 2021 by netherking
