Outbound 1 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Looking for a way to have the same title in different locations without have multiple copies of that file. For example "Ghost in the Sell" would be in the specials(season 00) within the Stand Alone Complex series under the Anime library-- while also being in the Movies library as an singular title. Is there a current way to do this, if not can we get a way to do this? I did some searching and did not find another topic that covers this so if there is please point me in that direction Thanks

Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Use strm file that points to the original file. search the forum for more examples. Cross Series Naming and Playing 2

Let's look at an example: Thanks.
Outbound 1 Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 by example, your asking for logs? embyserver.txt
Luke 42085 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 This is what your strm file points to? Z:\Anime\G . . G\Ghost in the Shell 02 - Stand Alone Complex\Season 00\S00E01 - Ghost in the Shell Movie That doesn't look like a video file.
Outbound 1 Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 yes that one doesnt have the .mp4 on the end, ive tried multiple varitions. "Z:" or ip addy, just trying diff stuff all fail to play
Luke 42085 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Please try correcting the extension in the strm file and then re-evaluate. Thanks.
Outbound 1 Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 that is what i said in my previous post- i am trying lots of different stuff- im sorry that the log file i sent didnt have the file type. embyserver (3).txt
Luke 42085 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Is this the exact path to the file? Z:\Anime\G . . G\Ghost in the Shell 02 - Stand Alone Complex\Season 00\S00E01 - Ghost in the Shell Movie.mp4 What kind of drive is the Z: drive?
Outbound 1 Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 Thank you for your time, as stated in op my everything is on a nas- so it needed the "/mnt/" directory through the Pi not Z: Its working now. thanks again.
Luke 42085 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Right OK. If the server is on a PI, there is no way a Z: path will work. That's a windows path.
