Transcoding question

I have a qnap TVS-672N and  trying to do hardware transcoding with a 4K file 

in the transcoding settings under Hardware Transcoding  Preferred Encoders I have Vappi and Quicksync enabled 

when using vappi the video is too dark when using quicksync the video buffers.  Any ideas?

Is that a HDR file? Do you have tonemapping enabled?

Try switching the order of decoders and encoders so one test VAAPI is first and in the second test QS is listed first.

What kind of FPS (frames per second) do you get for each?

Tone Mapping may just be a bit more than your NAS can handle while normal transcoding is ok.
