Emby Connect Help Please

I'm trying to configure Emby Connect to work. So far I've done the following:

1. In Emby Server > Server > Users, added the email address of my Emby account to the "(Optional) Emby Connect user name or e-mail address" field.
2. In Windows Firewall, checked that Emby Server has all ports open for UDP and TDP.
3. In my router, set up the following port forwarding to my PC: 8096 and 8920 (both TDP and UDP)
4. In Server > Network, turned Allow remote connections to this Emby Server on.

If I try it from Emby on Android (with my local network connection switched off), I can connect to my server but if I play anything, just get the "light blue spinning part circle" icon.

Is there anything else I need to do?

Hi.  If you can connect to your server, then Emby Connect is working.  Can we please look at specifics for the playback problem?  Do items play properly if played locally?  Did you turn off any of the transcoding options in the settings?

Hi, just to verify if you go to www.canyouseeme.org and check both ports what do you get as a response?

Does Emby dashboard show you 8096 or 8920 as the port used for remote?

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice - it seems to work now, I'm wondering did a reboot just fix things? (I used https://canyouseeme.org/ and 8920 is not visible but 8096 is.

(I checked my Server > Transcoding settings too which look fine. I can't see how you can turn it off anyway, but "Enable hardware acceleration when available:" is set to Yes, etc.)

Yes, maybe the reboot was all you needed.

As long as it's working now you should be good to go!
