pwhodges 2012 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) I have a show season with three files, and I want to re-encode them. I normally use Handbrake for this, but for some reason it will not touch these files - it just says "finished" immediately. So I thought I'd try the Emby facility instead, which I never have before. I right-clicked on the season menu and selected Convert, chose my parameters, and away it went - the conversion was performed, quicker than I expected, but the results were fine, except that the output file was a lower resolution than I wanted because it can't be chosen independently. So I thought I'd do it again with a higher bitrate, in the expectation that Handbrake could then handle the resulting file. I removed the previous converted files, and told Emby to convert - nothing happened. I renamed the source files so that Emby thought they were changed and told it to convert - nothing happened. It seems that Emby has logic to say that a conversion can only ever be done once (what if you want both tv and mobile versions?). If so (and indeed, if not) how do I persuade it to do what I want? Carlo 4561 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Don't know if this will help or not but worth a try. Run a full scan. This should remove any entries from the database that no longer exist. Then try it again.
