kpfleming 3 Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 I had two shows setup to record this morning; they were back-to-back shows on the same channel, tuner is an HDHomeRun Flex 4K (but the shows were broadcast in 480p). When I play back the first show, using either the web player or a Roku Ultra, the content displayed is incorrect (it's a different show). However, if I do anything to display the video preview thumbnails, they are correct! I can see each 10 second snapshot of the correct show, for the entire 30 minute recording, but no matter which place I continue playback, the incorrect content is shown. The second show plays fine, the content matches as it should. This happened once before, but I didn't realize what was going on. This time, I kept the 'bad' recording, and transferred the TS file to my laptop... and it plays properly! The proper content was recorded, but doesn't get played back. I haven't got a clue where the incorrect content is coming from.
Luke 42086 Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Hi there, can you please show a screenshot example to demonstrate? Thanks.
kpfleming 3 Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Here you go. For what it's worth, the Emby server is running 4.6.4.0.
Carlo 4561 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Hi, what does the detail screen show for this? Is there multi-versions of the show? Can you show us the Media Info section from the bottom of the detail screen?
kpfleming 3 Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Yowza... thee are two video tracks (with accompanying audio tracks)!
Solution Carlo 4561 Posted August 9, 2021 Solution Posted August 9, 2021 Yea, that's likely your problem. With a program such as XMedia Recode you should be able to pick the tracks you want and do a remux leaving out the video track you don't want. You can also leave out any audio (or subs if they were present) as well. Plenty of other programs or ffmpeg could be used but Recode is pretty easy (IMHO) for this type of thing. Carlo
Luke 42086 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Remember the thumbnails are only extracted 10 seconds apart, so at best, they will be accurate within 10 seconds. And if you changed it to only extract at chapter intervals, then there will be even fewer thumbnails for the entire video.
Carlo 4561 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Problem here I believe is that there are 2 video tracks in the file.
kpfleming 3 Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 I've got tools to strip out the tracks I don't want, so that's not an issue. The real issue is what caused this: should I bring this up on the Silicon Dust forum? It's clear that Emby wasn't expecting two video streams when it tuned to the channel.
Luke 42086 Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 They'll probably just tell you that the livev stream you were recording happened to have two video streams. But yes you could try that.
