EatPrilosec 22 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 (edited) Now that the automatic collection plugin has been merged into Emby I noticed that it has failed to auto-create at least one collection, The Cornetto Trilogy: https://thetvdb.com/lists/three-flavours-cornetto-trilogy https://www.themoviedb.org/list/68 Edited August 3, 2021 by NErdgOd56
GrimReaper 4740 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 (edited) That ain't a Collection but a List, neither of those movies belong to any Movie Set so TMDB API won't return any <set> info for them, i.e. that info cannot be scraped. You can manually create that Collection if inclined so. Edit: Some read here: Edited August 3, 2021 by GrimReaper76 Link 1
EatPrilosec 22 Posted August 3, 2021 Author Posted August 3, 2021 before, with the plugin, it fetched metadata and fanart for it, without manually creating a collection. to me, the user, thats a regression of the feature. did the plugin use a different service? i guess ill have to go dig up code and see if i can restore the functionality i want because the plugin in the repo seems to be a stub now
GrimReaper 4740 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 AFAIK Lists were never supported even in plugin (I might as well be wrong), it is however possible that that Collection DID actually exist at some point and was removed at a later stage due to policies change; I cannot, however, see that automatic scraping would ever be feasible unless some sort of provision for manually selecting it is introduced: as same movie can be a part of (theoretically) countless Lists, you would end up with just as many Collections created? 1

Exactly this. TMDB no longer allow 'Collections' on groups of films that are not directly related to each other. ie Jaws 1, 2 & 3 The 'Cornetto Trilogy' (ie Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the Worlds End) are not related - thus they are not in TMDB as a 'Collection'. 3 1

It would have not been imported with the previous design either. Does this answer your questions?
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Note that it very possibly was a collection on TMDB in the past. If you ran a library scan with the plugin installed when TMDB had such a collection it would have been created. The plugin wouldn't have deleted the collection when TMDB later removed that entry but someone starting from scratch wouldn't have that same collection recreated. 1 1

Carlo 4561 Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Check your collection library settings to see what meta-data providers are setup to pull from. 1

EatPrilosec 22 Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 oh, maybe i should put fanart at the top, eh? 1
EatPrilosec 22 Posted August 5, 2021 Author Posted August 5, 2021 how does one invoke a refresh of the metadata of the collection library, it doesnt appear in the three-dot menu like the other libraries?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 They look fine. Try selecting a few of the posters using multi-select and then Refresh Metadata with image replacement. Does that update the posters? 1
