Add Author as a metadata field for movies & TV shows

I  have a few Stephen King movies in my collection but searching for Stephen King rarely brings up any of them.  I thumbed through the cast and noticed that he doesn't have much direct involvement in many of the movies based on his books.  This can be a little deceiving if someone wants to perform a  library search for Stephen King.  My workaround so far is to add a Stephen King tag to all of his movies but searching for Stephen king brings up a few different results (Tag, Person, roles he has in movies, etc.) which can be confusing.  My next idea was to add him as an author in the cast for his movies but that isn't a possibility.  If its not too much work, would it be possible to add an Author metadata field to Movies, and TV shows.  If I can't pull this from a database, I'm ok with manually adding it in.  Thanks.

Here is an example of the problem I ran into using writer It (2017) - IMDb  When I search for Stephen King, and select the person results, the only movie that comes up is IT Chapter 2 because he plays a small role in that movie.  I have a few other movies based off of books he wrote that don't show up.

That looks like it works but will Emby ever pull in the writer field from something like IMDB, and overwrite my edit?

So why don't you just tag those movies with some unique tag, like "By Stephen King" or "Stephen King Author" or whatever your flavor is, that will narrow down your search to just that signle tag?

You can always lock People section or complete item to prevent changes on metadata refresh.
