Chromecast Audio Cuts out after 30 seconds

Whenever I attempt to chromecast audio from emby using the web app or the android mobile app, it will play for roughly 30 seconds and then cut out.

Happens across both Chromecast audio and Google home mini speakers

Still shows in the dashboard under active devices but with no play time

Running latest emby stable on Ubuntu 20 behind an nginx reverse proxy (valid ssl cert). The chromecasts and devices casting to the chromecasts are all on the same local network but the emby server is on a remote network (over the internet).

Tested both WAVs and FLAC files. Fresh server and ffmpeg logs attached

Edit: anything that can be direct played works fine (audio books in m4a format). I have hardware transcoding disabled

Playing the same file in the emby web app on a laptop, dashboard shows it as transcoding too but it doesn't cut out

Playing the files on chromecasts on the network that the emby server is on plays the files fine but uses Direct Streaming instead of transcoding.

Hi, how is your network setup that the Chromecasts are on a different network then the Emby Server?

My emby server is accessible over the internet. The chromecasts can connect back to the emby server to play media

That didn't answer my question.

The emby server is in one physical location - the chromecasts are in a different physical location. Two separate internet connections.

As an aside the issue is also present playing locally in the android app when audio is required to be transcoded

OH ok what you said before "This is all on the same local network but is remote to the emby server." confused me a bit.

So you have a client and chromecast in one location and the Emby Server at another location with the Internet between the two correct?

Have edited the original post to clarify that point :)

Yep thats correct - hopefully thats clearer now!

Was my bad, I just read what you typed incorrect.

Do you have physical access to the server or is this hosted elsewhere? I ask because I'm wondering if it's possible to test casting to the chromecast on the same local network.

Have tested the chromecasts on the network local to the emby server, these all play the files fine (no stopping) but are directly streaming the file rather than transcoding it

Hi, would it be possible to allow me to test against your server?  My server is local and doesn't sound like that's a problem.  This way I can test against the same server you are using.
If so send me a PM and we can arrange this test.

@Luke @softworkz any suggestions on this? Any more info I can provide from my end?

As a side note this was present in previous versions of the server I just never had time to dig in to it

Can anyone provide any further advice for diagnosing this?

Are you still having an issue with this?

Yes still the exact same issue
