cremo 0 Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 When will be next release for Android TV app?
cremo 0 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Is it really that complicated to release a new apk file for android tv with the correct font for subtitles?

Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.

It tells me that it is not compatible with the device and the file could not be installed. Please, just replace the font for subtitles in the android TV app like you did in other apps and it will work like in other apps. It's a pity that just because of such a small thing, I can't watch the video with ass subtitles, which contain different overlaps and different subtitle positions that srt can't handle. I'd like to fix the app myself if I knew how, but if I change the font for the subtitles, the app won't install on my TV.
cremo 0 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 It is enough if you edit the beta app, you don't need to edit the official app in google play. I use the beta server and beta app for android tv anyway.
cremo 0 Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 So after a long time I came back to the Plex again. I'm not happy about it, but at least the subtitles work properly.

cremo 0 Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 As I wrote above, the app can't be installed on Google TV. It's not even available in the Play Store, and it can't be installed via USB or network. This problem has been solved here for a year and a half, it is known to be a problem with the font. It's finally started to be fixed everywhere except for the Google TV app. I really don't have the patience for it anymore, so I finally decided on a solution that works for me.
rooser11 8 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Now whatever changes you have made here likely have broken Korean support. I am sure you are aware of this problem as others have posted that the bug started with the version 82. Android TV app doesn't suffer from broken Korean support yet.

Hi, yes we are aware and are looking into it. Thanks.

Mediaholic948 3 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Having an issue with subtitle music symbols in the Emby Android app on my S20+ (they show up as portrait-oriented rectangles). The subtitle music symbols show up just fine on my Nvidia Shield. I am using embedded SRT subtitles with UTF-8 encoding. Below is how the music symbols appear in subtitle edit with UTF-8 encoding present. I tried playing the same video on my wife's iPhone, for comparison, but turns out any video with embedded subtitles (most of my videos) immediately stop playing upon trying to start them. Guess that's a topic for another thread though...

Thanks.
Mediaholic948 3 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Roger that and thanks for the quick response. 1
