Getting status of library scans?

Hi.  I poked around the KB but couldn't find what I was looking for.  I installed Emby Server, then added a library.  I disabled all metadata scanners because I didn't want it to struggle scanning my server.  I pointed it at my media share and off it went.  I was surprised at how fast it was going; one percent every ~6-8 seconds.  The folder it was indexing contains 42 TB of media; when I tried that with Plex, it choked and failed.  Emby seemed to take it in stride.

But then I noticed that only "A" had subfolders, even though the percentage thing had gone all the way.  Over time, other folders are populating.  I cannot see a status indicator anywhere though; is there any way I can find out what it's working on?  I'd like to know when it's 100% complete.

Thanks!

Hi, you should have status right on the Dashboard  that shows different running background task like this:

BTW, I wouldn't expect much in the way of good looking UI if you de-selected all the meta-data providers for the library.  Sure it's fine for a test but you will likely want to re-enable those and rescan again after testing.

Hmm.  The only sections I see on dashboard are server name, active devices, activity, alerts, latest news and paths.  Activity seems to just be user activity, not server activity.

Yea, it definitely isn't as pretty but as my experience with HTPC front ends has been them choking (Plex, XBMC, Meedio, etc) when trying to index my library I figured whatever makes it easier for the system to complete its task I'll try.  I'm way more interested in the ability to stream my collection to my phone than any aesthetic concerns.  I have about a quarter million media files on the server so it tends to gum up the works when I try to index them with stuff like that.  Is it possible to turn them on and have it scan after the initial index is done?  I don't care if it chugs away for a month in the background getting metadata, I just wanted my actual media loaded up as soon as possible.

Also unrelated question while I have your "ear"; when I go to the main library it shows me the folder that are on root in said library.  Downloads, # and A-Z.  However, it also shows the subfolders of V in root for some odd reason.  I double checked the server, they are properly located in the V folder not root, so no idea why it did that.  Is there a way to edit the database to tell it to put them under V?   Nevermind, no sooner did I ask this question than I realized I was in "shows" view, not folder view lol.

When doing a library scan click the Scan Library button at the top of the library menu or a scan from the schedule task area.

Those will show on the dashboard as they are complete lib scans.  Individual library scans don't show up here.
