Soundpool 2 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Hi, Currently running conversion on my Emby server with "Original media folder, replacing original files". However I see that it does copy the media files to the workfolder (separate partition in my case) and does actually convert it. After that it never moves it back to the original disk, Don't see any write movements to the library at all. It does delete the "old" media file from the temporary folder, but never moves back the converted files. This of course means the drive is filling up and it just stops when full. Is this normal? has anyone experiencing anything similar? Entirely possible I'm overlooking a setting here of course. If any additional information or logs are required, just let me know.

Soundpool 2 Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 Been fiddling and monitoring a bit and I think the transfer back isn't actually part of the conversion process, but a separate one. So for the conversion itself I should set an item limit so it can actually fit on the drive where the temporary folder is stored. Up until this point no problem, can make that work. I've tried it with a view movies, which have been converted and now "ready to transfer" However it's not entirely clear how to get them transferred back to the library. The scheduled task "transfer media" would make most sense. Unfortunately when running it (manually) it doesn't actually move anything, so the converted files stay put. I get the feeling that I'm overlooking something very obvious here.
Soundpool 2 Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 Found the underlying issue, apparently the transfer process didn't have rights to write the data back to the library drive. Which is a bit odd as "everyone" has access and Emby runs as Administrator. However after setting full control for "authenticated users" it did move the converted files back. Furthermore the conversion process seems to call the transfer process automatically (a lot more than the interval set in my scheduled tasks), so no need to limit the amount of conversions, it will automatically Found the underlying issue, apparently the transfer process didn't have rights to write the data back to the library drive. So all is fine again Apologies for the spam here.
Carlo 4561 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Hi, Glad you got this working. It's almost always a permission issue as you found.
