MBSki 1114 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 I recently moved my photos folder to a different directory on my data drive and forgot to note my favorited photos/home videos before I did. I have a full back up of the Emby folder from 2 months ago though. Can I get the favorited info out of the back up?
GrimReaper 4742 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Server Configuration Backup plugin restores Favorites - don't know whether it applies to Photos/Home Videos; you might give it a spin, see what happens?

Hmmm, ok. I'll take a look. Not sure how old a backup I have using that plugin. Where are favorites stored? Can I find them in a metadata file somewhere?
GrimReaper 4742 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Tbh have no idea, but I would assume it's only a db entry, not separate item, per se, that's written in the folder structure.

Yea, I think you're right. Can't find it anywhere. I'll try the plug-in and might even try just copying the folder back. Maybe the favorites are still marked in the database.
ebr 16185 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 They cannot be restored normally because there is no way to tie them together. With things that cannot be identified with a global ID, we use a hash of the path as an ID. So, when you move them, that ID changes.

I ended up copying my files back and the favorites were found. So it seems the references to the favorites stayed in the database. Is there a way to see the references in the database without having to copy the files back?
