  1. I created a plugin that adds customizable “New” badges, banners, or ribbons to library items based on release date or date added. It works with movies, TV series, and episodes, making it easier to highlight newly released or recently added content in your library. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Here are some screenshots: EmbyNewOverlay.dll

  2. A new plugin is in the Emby plugin catalog for Emby Premiere users, largely developed by @softworkz. This plugin requires Emby Server version 4.9.1.27+, so unless you're running that, you will not see it. WebStreams This is designed to be a better version of the IPTV plugin. You can now import both single streams as well as M3U lists into Emby Server. Eventually we may also add RSS support and merge the podcasts plugin into this. Beyond RSS, there is also the potential to support other formats if there's enough demand for them. Features Import both single streams and M3U lists into Emby Server TV episodes within M3U are displayed with Series and Season hierarchies, just like regular libraries (make sure to select the appropriate content type when adding a source) Rich metadata support using MovieDb and TVDB (make sure to select the appropriate content type when adding a source) Ability to filter what gets imported Known Issues We need to add more visibility into the server's background refresh queue. You can see the progress of it on the webstreams config page. Currently if you restart the server in the middle of this, then you will need to run the refresh channels scheduled task.

  3. Hi, is there any way to change a movie's poster (also) based on the audio track? Let's say I have an animated movie with two different languages (English and something else), can I select the English audio track and let Emby show the English poster and by selecting the other audio track show a different poster? Would be great for movies with different dubs and even different titles (like Zootopia is called Zootropolis in Europe I think). And it would of course be even greater if there could be an accompanying summary (that you can enter manually, as I don't think the metadata providers provide in other languages than English?) in the user's native language, for example so that kids can read it easier or by themselves. (Sorry for the bad images, these are caused by HDR)

  5. Not related to your problem, but please uninstall the Portmapper plugin because it floods the log with unnecessary error messages. Also please enable debug logging for Emby server and in the general settings of the VirtualTV plugin and upload some new log files after reproducing your issue. A small advice: start live tv playback from the guide instead of the live tv home page.

  6. Hmm, I'm wondering if the contribution network config isn't being respected. I've seen a few people make reference to random themes when they say it's off and yet those themes outside of the network have been manually checked 1 by 1. I'll take a look As for filter list, no limit, although it'll only show what it has historically downloaded since that list was last cleared. It won't show themes downloaded by something else or perhaps after a new reinstall. If you look in the plugins config file in your embys server install folder, it'll show all the current theme filters so you can double check but I definitely haven't set a limit

  7. Are you on your local network or are you trying to access the server remotely? If you are on your local network, ensure Emby Server is running on LAPTOP. You should be typing in the IP address of the whatever device has Emby Server running. I would recommend setting a static IP address for the device so it doesn't change.

  10. Had to force change to private with Powershell. It worked. Emby appears to be working now. One of these updates changed my network: 2026-05 Preview Update (KB5089573) (26200.8524) or 2026-05 .NET Framework Preview Update (KB5092427). So now we know. Sorry for the all caps, as I noticed nobody else does that. That is leftover from my military days. Hopefully, if anyone else updated win11 to the preview, you can tell then to change the network back to private and that should fix it.

  12. OK so it looks like it was exactly like I thought. I just did a fresh install of Emby beta on a new CachyOS install Arch based as well, created my TV library and all looks good. Across all Series a tiny amount of missing cast and crew, but that's typical cause there isn't always an image to find. Over all the theme is truly SWEET. I love the fade / slide in of the backdrops. That gives it a very polished look. The only thing that threw me off was on certain series having names instead of season numbers, but either way the seasons are correctly separated. Thought I would want the normal season posters, but this setup is pretty easy to get use to and feels more polished. Thanks for what is a great theme.

  13. Jellyfin is more popular as pirates hate to pay for stuff. Period. The fact it's open source means nothing. Jellyfin is extremely fragmented and still based on Luke's ancient code. Remember, Jellyfin was created because someone didn't like the fact there was a nag screen to pay for an open source product. They created Emby Unlocked and went forward and forked what is now Jellyfin. It's an inferior product that works well enough that people are willing to put up with its issues as it costs them zero dollars, yet costs them time and frustration.
