  1. I think we need a new compilation of the app, mine won't install anymore

  2. Which obvious reasons would those be? Logs are anonymized by default if downloaded through the UI - you can also sanitize them yourself before posting - as you can PM it to any of the Devs, as well.

  3. Hi, audio video playback also puts the api key in the media url. Ultimately I think what should happen is a new token should be created based on the existing one but that only has permission to do that one thing.

  4. Hi, we're having the same problem. My Samsung model isn't updating and I need the updated Tizen file.

  5. Mine was XBMC > Kodi > Plex > Front Row > Kodi > Plex > Media Browser > Emby. I was going back and forth there for a bit because I was frustrated and at the time if I remember correctly MB was windows only and i refused to have a windows server at home. I got really pissed at Plex like 12 years ago because of problems with their software and they were blaming the problems on us, the users. I was like I am done. At that time I looked back at MB because I liked how it looked and realized I could install it on Linux. Haven't looked back. I should sell my plex account with lifetime.

  6. Specifically, look at TMDB, because that's where (by default) Emby will be looking. (Note: Emby doesn't use IMDB, because it costs too much.) Paul

  7. Is there any way to stop when search, for suggestions? They're really annoying.

  8. Something is undoubtedly blocking access to our server over the internet.

  9. Did you enable the episode spoiler hiding feature?

  10. Thanks for the great app. Having premium and watch pass as one time purchases is what gave me the incentive to jump into both. As much as I like your app, if it had been subscription based, I wouldn't have gone in. So thank you. I'm excited to see the improvements and new features you come up with over time.

  11. I went to the metadata location and found that files with the name of `auto_poster_[Number1]_[Number2]_[Number3]_[Number4].png` are the library hero images that we are talking about. Each number is an identification for an individual item trickling down to its respective primary image. I could delete all these images to force emby to generate new auto-posters to test if the bug lies here in the non-deletion of them but I'd rather not risk testing this workaround only to lose this data (referrring to the old and now-defunct library hero images) which could be used to actually fix the bug in emby itself. Here's a screenshot of me finding a total of 67 auto-poster images with the oldest one dating back to 02-08-2025. I'd appreciate if a dev could take a look at this @Luke

  12. Sir, this is an Emby forum, where we use our OWN MEDIA. The fact you are basically dismissing the encoding problem is pretty serious. If I'm going to encode something, I'll gladly use HEVC instead of AV1 as I don't need to use a special fork for HDR, and DV content just works. We don't give a flying flock about Netflix or Amazon here. HEVC still gives better results as well when it comes to visual quality be it through VMAF or XPSNR. I've dealt back and forth with some of the AV1 community on Doom9, and the gatekeeping and refusal to accept criticism is pretty bad as they take any as a personal attack.

  13. New patch release - Version 4.1.1.0 Download .dll and full release notes: https://github.com/soderlund91/HomeScreenCompanion/releases/tag/v4.1.1.0 This update contains some improvements, bug fixes and wider server support for the plugin. Adding a new scheduled task that groups the top-list item with original one to prevent duplicates in UI, e.g. in continue watching (behaving the same way a 1080p and 4K movie would). IMPORTANT! Minimum required Emby server v4.10.0.10 Release notes Updates Server support: Rebuild the plugin to use netstandard 2.0 to support all Emby server hardware. (This is also a requirement for posting to the Emby plugin catalog.) Top-list: Added image support for using thumbs as image type (make sure to enable downloads of thumbs in existing library settings first) Top-list: Added a scheduled task that will group versions for the top-list item with the original one. Running this task will remove any duplicated from continue watching and other UI quirks that may appear with multiple versions of the same movie. Suggestion is to run this after you updated the tags/top-list. (Default scheduled time is none) Fixes Top-list: Fixed an issue where already excising top-list could merge with newly created. Home Section: Updated how each section is handled/tracked to prevent duplicate rows. HomeScreenCompanion.dll

  14. Hi there, what exactly happens when you try?

  15. They are larger because you are using Quicksync (simplest explanation, but in reality it's more complicated and I don't think you want a novel here). Hardware encoding takes several generations before it can match software encoding. It took quite some time for Quicksync to match x264 slow, almost 15 years. This is common knowledge to those of us who encode, and we discuss at lot of these things at the Doom9 forums. Switch to software encoding and your file sizes will be much smaller, and the quality will be superior. Yes your encode times will increase exponentially, but that's the price you pay for quality. If you want to know how to encode properly with Quicksync, there is a long hardware encoding thread on the Doom9 forums that covers an entire decade. There is a LOT of information there that you could put to good use.

  16. I cancelled my lifetime plexpass in 2022 (which I'd had since 2013) after one of their security breaches, and the only way I could get them to delete my data was to close my account and lifetime plexpass. I'd never use their software again though, even if you paid me.

  17. I've finally just given up on Emby playing the files. It does a half decent job with DLNA so I will just use VLC to access the playlist and use Emby as nothing more than a media manager. It doesn't appear the team cares anything about fixing this since it has been an issue for years with no attempt to address it while they've added or changed other crap for the the worse.

  18. Also did you notice how the regular Emby fanboys on here chime in as soon as people get a little chippy about the crap service we're getting from this company? You've been really patient dealing with the constant attacks from that "pwhodges" person and honestly I would have told him to eff off by now. These people want to silence anyone who even remotely appears dissapointed with this mediocre service. Like we're supposed to pay for a service and not complain when the Emby staff are obviously stalling and giving us the runaround for years without any timeframe on a fix and ultimately no fix in the end.
