  1. What I find so puzzling is the Embys developers' continuing inability to communicate better with this engaged, enthusiastic user base. I understand why developers of any paid software wouldn't want to publicly reveal their detailed timeline, but there's no reason not to share general - and realistic - priorities and plans. It would save 20-30% of the posts and grumbles here - and probably 40% of @Luke's time - if he would dispense with the phlegmatic, control-v "that's something we plan to implement" and instead be able to refer users to a clear, meaningful, realistic page that lists what is actually being worked on in the short, middle, and long term.

  2. The problem is that there are multiple highly popular features (e.g., this one, watch together, alternative TVDB orders, user recommendations, etc.) that were requested 5-10 years ago, and we keep hearing that they are planned for the future. A bit more transparency on priorities and timelines would not hurt. Something like a yearly post with the retrospective and plans for the next year. Also, I personally really like the idea of having the month of "What the Heck?!", which is occasionally organized by the Home Assistant team and focuses on resolving a bunch of easy-to-fix pain points reported by the community.

  3. You're absolutely right—I really was looking in the wrong place. Apparently, all the apps were affected; I just didn't notice it there. This was the solution: LG: “Just Scan” (turn on). Thanks so much for your help!

  5. Yeah I really like that idea! This is definitely going on the to-do list. Especially since the content isn't changing that much from day to day.

  7. I can try some of those, but would be curious if any of them are long enough. It seems pretty consistent that the crashes are around 30-50 minutes in (usually about 34ish). I will check, though. Most of it is either 4K UHD or Blu-ray rips of my collection using makemkv. No further processing. Some of the TV show episodes are 4k downloads. EDIT: But again, if the issue were the files themselves then that wouldn't explain why the issue seems limited to the official Apple TV emby app. As I've mentioned, Infuse pointed at the same emby server, Infuse pointed at jellyfin, a third party jellyfin client, and plex (all on the same Apple TV playing the same files) work just fine without any issues. Hell, even the official emby app on Roku plays the files just fine. So I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it's the files.

  8. I have links, spam, and SQL/LLM injections considered and blocked from being posted. For the actual comment contents, I have an automated moderation worker that checks submitted comments before they are made available, with the goal of keeping comments respectful, safe, and relevant to the media item. I completely understand the concern here. Since this is community-generated content that can appear across servers, I know the security and moderation expectations need to be higher than a normal local-only plugin. I am open to feedback on what specific security requirements would need to be met for this to be considered acceptable. If the concern is links, scripting, injected content, private server data, moderation liability, or abuse/spam at scale, I can document the protections around each of those.

  11. All my special episodes are located in the folders of the seasons they belong to. Some files are named as Special S00E01others as S00E01. As an experiment, I created a separate "Specials" folder and moved all the special episodes there. The problem remained the same. Based on this, I conclude that some part of the code in section 2 is causing this issue.

  12. The error with special episodes persists. Even if I delete the "Ordering" section, the error persists. Through trial and error, I concluded that the error is caused by some code in section 2. It's difficult to pinpoint the exact code, as section 2 is extremely large. However, if I delete it and leave only section 1, the error with special episodes disappears.

  13. I see no similarities between that topic and this current one here.

  15. Nip, Already answered in detail above. Putting a button at a different spot is the same issue. CSS alone cannot do it. There is a feature request forum. Search there if you want to request this feature.

  16. New version up in the catalog (v2.5.5.0) Added: 1) Indicator for running ffmpeg threads. 2) Settings for number of parallel ffmpeg threads. 3) More rules. 4) Confidence score setting for chromeprint (hash). Note: This is not the final confidence score but for comparison between episodes, i find a setting of around 55% gives the best results. Changed: 1) Tracer now also shows episodes that has had detection done automatically. 2) Removed some settings for schedule tasks as they can (and should) be set in Emby instead. Fixed: 1) Bug where automatic detection could not find the library path on some systems and there for failing. 2) Bug with the detection system that would make the plugin not run one some H265 files. 3) General improvements. This should finally fix the problems some people have had with the automatic detections and new episodes.

  17. So, the second attempt seems to have worked. I have my browser set to automatically translate English text into German. It translated my English text back into German. However, something seems to have gone wrong this time when posting (submitting the reply), and most of my message was posted back in German. My apologies! I just realized I could have changed that in the message itself. So, here it is. My original message follows, in English as it should be.

  20. Just because something that we'd like to do in the future hasn't made it to the top of the priorities list doesn't mean we should deny it ever happening.
