  1. I have a client that was able to connect, but could not play anything. They got a "connection error", but only when the media should start. This was when i was using let's encrypt. When i shifted to ZerroSSL they were able to connect and play.

  2. The biggest deterrent to plugin devs on Emby has always been around the stable release schedule and the instability of beta builds. Infrequent stable releases push regular users to run beta builds and the beta builds are pushed out with no internal testing and often break things. Expect to be doing regular maintenance releases to keep up with the beta or have people questioning why you only support stable server releases. We've been asking for quarterly stable server releases for years but we are stuck waiting 1-2 years between stable releases. IMO it doesn't make sense to add this to the catalog until the Home Screen Selection make it to a stable server releases.

  3. You can do it with tags with EmbyIcons. It's a manual process though so will be fiddly.

  4. @ebr I might as well ask here as it's about the same thing. When is it planned that this option will work with Samsung and LG TVs?

  5. For the Samsung app have you checked the version on GitHub? The beta version of the Samsung app will always be the latest and is on GitHub first before it even gets submitted to Samsung for approval. If it is in the version on GitHub, then it's either waiting the devs to submit it to Samsung or the devs have already submitted it and Samsung is testing the app before it gets updated in the store. If it's not in the version on GitHub then it's still waiting the devs to implement.

  6. Sorry yes TitanOS, not saying Emby is doing that

  7. I cannot say but you should monitor in those forums. The native TV stores are the slowest when it comes to updates. They can take months.

  8. Seeing that it's 2026, i would expect more than 3 current trailers. Is it from a playlist that someone maintains on YouTube? What's the criteria for something to show up in here?

  9. Apologies for not supplying any logs and appearing to abandon this question. Just noting here that this turned out to be caused by an overkill of multiple DNS blocklists used in my internal network. I'm not certain which entry caused the symptoms, but now I only use Steven Blacks blocklist and the TV Guide functionality works as intended, as do other Samsung features now (iPhone screen mirroring wouldn't work either), whilst avoiding the majority of chatty/unwanted Samsung telemetry. Once again, thanks for an awesome product and keeping up the awesome work!

  12. Roku behaves very badly if it sees a forced flag; I use a little script to remove them from MKV files in bulk. Paul

  13. Check if any of the subtitle streams have the forced flag set, and if so remove it from all of them using MKVToolNix. Roku is well-known for behaving strangely when there are any forced flags set. Paul

  14. It seems there is a lot of sh*t going on. Didn't even know this existed until I stumbled over it: [redacted] Most of them also offer Emby Shares in the Jelly sub. It seems there was also a subreddit r/embyshares, but it got closed due to copyright. So I bet lots of the One-Posters come over from this area...

  17. Would agree 100%. When home screen makes it to Stable, then if you wish to (and Emby have ok'd), release a well tested version in the Catalogue, but keep future betas and any new releases you do as DLL's as you do now. In short, follow the Emby stable release schedule to reduce support overhead.

  18. v5 !!! Super Speed Demon !!! v5 (perhaps shoulda been v8 ???) Mp3tag: 6min35sec writing 1 tag to 1270 tracks over wireless network doing several other things. Emby_Album_Tag_Importer: 0min8sec writing the same 1 tag from, single Album track, on same network All Artists problem is fixed - now just Album Artists. Reports can be generated and exported for Excel (just a quick test so far). Error logging works as follows (from earlier today): There was a massive long path. A long Disc subfolder under the main Album folder, plus the track_name.flac. It seemed to be only 220 characters (under 260 limit?), but I shortened the overall length to 110 chracters and all was good!

  19. Give this version a spin. v0.4 - Selection logic revised - Track modes added (Single-track/Multi-track) Edit: Also, any glitches observed in Summary modals?

  20. The counters will be good for bulk editing large batches of files. Mp3tag has something comparable and I rely on it a lot: Yeah, "Stop" gives "Task cancelled" message. No worries about the "All" issues, I csn't think of a use-case for me, but perhaps people with multiple small music libraries would use it - I don't know???

  22. FYI, Tunarr will happily max out open files/handles on a server. It caused havoc on my end, causing other containers to crash due to resource starvation. I had to restore my Emby databases from backup because they got corrupted. After restoring Tunarr from a backup (it too decided to off itself), I set "--ulimit nofile=4096:4096" (I initially set it to 1024:1024 after restoring), but it's maxing that out, and it just silently fails once it exceeds the limit. I'm done with that vibe-coded monstrosity.

  25. Dev would have to comment further on why there are issues with avi transcoding. I personally saw issues with avi (XVID) files a long time ago and just converted all of them to h264 mp4 so they would direct play instead of transcoding.

  26. ah...in my response I hadn't considered the server access sellers and the support angle, I'm aware of that side of course and they are pretty easy to spot. I also think there are wannabe sellers, or even someone recently who sounded as if they had inherited a server lol As for the helping burnout, in some way it's probably because emby as a project is pretty much solid for the core functionality. Yes there are nice to have's and some of us want a particular feature, but there is more than enough which is stable and feature-complete, and where not there are easy and well understood hacks and workarounds. Things were a lot more fun when trying to get emby working on a Synology NAS and then within Hyper-V, I think I spent most of my time tinkering than actually watching anything, now it is the other way around. Helping is difficult as people with simple issue who don't want to invest their own time in simple investigation and reading are tiring. I don't want to deal with them at work, why would anyone want to do this out of work... But hey we are all still here because Emby is an amazing piece of work, I don't even class it as a product.

  27. I tent to agree. Most new user are Emby server users that don't own and have installed there own servers. Asking 1 time questions about there experience / failed attempts to connect to, what they call there own server, and never again reply. Share sellers redirecting there support to this forum or just don't care. Sadly this started after the big purge, where the forum was deleting old unused accounts with on forum activities, meaning 0 posts or replies. As a result share sellers are making them ask 1 question, most topic "KJHJKHK" Body "djfhk" 1 thing I have noticed is that some of the old account / helpful people have stopped helping new people, sadly I'm 1 of them. I have hade enough of people asking for help directly via PM or getting a smirky reply they cooked up via some AI. Or they never get back to you if that helped them Then there is the other people asking for help that don't want to supply logs or read the linked "how to guide" and supply where that fail them. So spending 1 - 2 hours trying to help them is going unanswered, and right now I feel like I'm waisting my time.

  28. Currently, the thumbnails are used, but they take up a lot of space Switching to primary thumbnails would make the icons smaller, more visually appealing, and offer more options on the Home Screen. You can compare Emby and Infuse apps to see how Emby displays its content.

  29. Not getting the best tool for the job based on that seems short-sighted to me. Why does it matter? The tech in my wrenches is centuries old but they are still the best for certain tasks.
