Try using mp3tag to edit albumartist to Various Artist. And se if they all fall under "Various Artist" in sted of single artists.1 point

I ignored the first rule of a home network. When in doubt reboot the router. I was blindsided that everything else was working and Emby server could be accessed by external PC and local Android Tablet. One tends to forget that (in the UK) the routers from BT and Virgin etc are cheap as chips electronics from Taiwan/China etc. Anyway - rebooted router - loaded Emby on Firestick - found my Win11 Server straight away and we are back in business. Not the first time in my 40 years in computing that I missed the obvious.1 point

I will fix the scaling. Problem is that i forgot both horizontal and vertical are things that exist in this world.1 point

This. This has already been discussed several times before. An option to apply changes to all versions or just the current version, and an option to choose which version to edit, are both necessary.1 point

Well, I guess we will stop here, I can't make screen-shot from the TV and I can say I have no more ffmpeg alarms since I've changed the codecs1 point

Ah - thank you for the clarification. I did, indeed, access the menu as a non-admin user. I don't think I've ever actually browsed my library as an Admin user. Admin account does admin things, normal user account does the watching :-). That said - yes, the search DOES work from that menu as an Admin - so what does that tell us, programmatically/diagnostically? Is the subtitle search code instantiated differently from the Movie Detail view versus the Metadata Manager? (seeing the popup does remind me, though, about the other ~106 items in the OpenSubs API list: they likely don't have exact hash matches, which I think I have enabled on some libraries)1 point

Ahh, I hope that will be fixed upstream at some point.1 point

That doesn't appear to be an admin user but a regular one, otherwise you'd have a lot more options in the dropdown there.1 point

It's not super common anymore, but I have run into it a few times. "in those cases they should recognize why something failed" ..... You've been around here long enough to know that doesn't happen, lol1 point

This is a well-known issue. FWIW, I haven't had it at all with the current beta. Paul1 point

hi, please try removing these plugins: 2026-03-14 14:49:23.841 Info App: Loading playback_reporting, Version=2.1.0.7, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/plugins/playback_reporting.dll 2026-03-14 14:49:23.842 Info App: Loading Emby.DataExplorer2, Version=4.9.1.13, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/plugins/Emby.DataExplorer2.dll 2026-03-14 14:49:23.842 Info App: Loading statistics, Version=3.4.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/plugins/Statistics.dll 2026-03-14 14:49:23.842 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.TuneIn, Version=1.2.8.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/plugins/MediaBrowser.Plugins.TuneIn.dll Then restart the server and see how things compare. Thanks! This is by far the most important missing feature for me. Probably the only thing I really need that Emby doesn't already do. I specifically paid for Emby Premiere for the offline play capability, but without these advances, it's not really usable.1 point

Daher https://docs.pangolin.net/self-host/quick-install1 point

@Luke any ETA on this now 8 year old request to have user groups for all users settings, so when you add a user you don't have to click through and change all the settings every single time ? I would think 8 years is enough time?1 point

Hello, Just a message to support. I use Emby as targeted, family scope only but it starts to be around 20 users; even at this scale, repeating the same clicks when I create a user (remove permissions to delete and manage library I let him see) is boring. Recently I added a personal photos library so it's for my wife and I; it was needed to go on all other users profile to uncheck "access to all libraries" and then uncheck the new one from the list. Even if it's not group management, but I think that like me most of the users have more users than libraries, so a permission rule set library-based would be much better than user-based. Eg I prefer to uncheck 20 checkbox in the new library parameters (25 clicks) than uncheck 1 box in 20 users profiles (100 clicks).1 point

Hi Luke, Thanks for the reply. To be honest, it’s a bit frustrating that this question is still being asked after all these years. User groups are one of the most basic features in any system with multiple users. What people (myself included) have been asking for is the ability to define permission sets once and assign them to multiple users. The current "copy from user" approach is inefficient and unmanageable, especially when changes need to be made across the board. If I want to restrict access to a library or feature for several users, I have to go through each one manually – which is time-consuming, error-prone, and simply not scalable. A proper group system would turn this into a few clicks instead of a tedious routine. This isn’t some obscure or niche feature request. It’s a fundamental need for anyone managing more than a handful of users. Let me put it this way: Imagine trying to run this very forum without a user group system – no moderator roles, no admin roles, just individual users each with manually assigned permissions. Sounds fun, right? So instead of asking what we want to do with groups, the real question should be: Why hasn’t this been implemented after 7 years of repeated community feedback? It’s standard in every comparable media server solution – and frankly, it’s long overdue in Emby. Thanks, Patrick1 point

+1 There already exists a 'multi-select' on the users page, but it appears the only option is a bulk deletion of users. If we could select users and then make a change that reflects to all selected users, that would save a lot of time. For example, Home screen adjustments, library access, etc..1 point
