  1. Guess you where mislead, and you expect to much. From someone using there sparetime making something great for us willing to use the time using it. Have you no respect for people around you, trying to help the community. Anyways.... Thank you @soderlund91for creating this 9'th wonder.

  2. I was just listening to my playlist and wondering which song was currently playing. Can you spot it? It would be nice if this would be much clearer, for example: Also the white animated gif is very unclear. Perhaps adding some (black) borders around the bars or turning it into a svg with transitions so it can be changed during runtime?

  3. @MD2020You need to install your own server on your own hardware, and add your own media. Emby Is NOT a streaming service.... @js28194Its a canned message I use in these cases. I see them too often

  5. @GrimReaper I have added a setting for controlling the icon spacing that was hardcoded before. This is the best i can do for now. Controlling the x and y for icons will be complicated as the plugin is using % of poster and icons to make them actually fit properly on the posters. Hopefully this will at least forfil your request just a little. It will be part of the next release.

  6. Hi guys, I am sharing my server with my parents and my sister. My sister and I would like to have the metadata in English our parents on the other hand need to have a different language as they don't speak English. Have been looking in the settings but couldn't find anything that would allow this. So, is it even possible to set two languages for the metadata and then depending on the users language showing the one or the other language?

  7. Could we get a resolution filter on backdrops selection? I tend to get the 4k versions (3840x2160) of back drops when available but this usually requires a bit of searching to find in the returned results. Bonus for a library option to prefer higher resolution back drops over lower

  8. I’m not going to argue about it, but I do have very different opinion. I don’t believe in miracles, but the TV is working now. Here is pcap file. I couldn’t see anything interesting in this capture. TV_1.pcap

  10. +++++++++++++++1 I think in 2026 it is not a nice to have feature, but a must have. As streaming providers also can do this. Please. @Lukeany more exact info than it's possible?

  12. Gottem, haha! It's especially annoying if you're playing a huge list and have had it running for god knows how long, so the current item is somewhere outside of the scrollview. Good luck trying to find it (which brought me to this issue lol).

  14. a new problem appears, If a serie have 10 episodes, there will be 10 icons displayed on the series poster, which is suited with the filename rule to one episode, like this.

  15. It is virtually impossible for us to investigate it because, whatever is going on, is limited to a particular device on your network. You are the only one who can do deep investigation on that.

  16. Ultro, Sure, your choice. I understand you would like Emby to work best with your setup and getting that done is a valid request. Does anyone get graphic subs to playback directly? I don't use those. If the graphic subs force an Emby transcoding, then it's your server that has to do it. Your comment says it's not beefy enough for 4K. So, hopefully, direct playback is possible. I was under the impression that graphic subs usually force a transcode. It takes about 30 seconds to 2 minutes to get the subs and make a new version media, without subs, for each 4K 2 hour video. It's not a transcoding level event. Of interest, is that all commerical streaming sites have already done this for all their content. They all do that automatically using some custom script.

  17. I'm working on seeing if I can fix it ATM. Together with some other enhancements like the bars people have requested. Can't promise anything though.

  18. Thanks, but if it doesn't affect initial/first icon placement (in respect to poster edges) but only spacing between them - not much. Still, thanks for the effort.

  20. Hi @Apotropaic Thanx for your reply! My thought was to erase existing, replace with my own and make my server not download any. Im guessing that just disableing the download option in library settings does that. By using the PNG:s i got, and somehow rename them to fanart1,fanart2 etc..CLI is a good idea, thanx! Yeah, there is a Bulky Media Editor plugin that ill check out. Thanx!

  24. I think I got it going. I'm on a completely different portion. I was able to enter path. And now I'm see a time showing 64%, which I assume is the transcoding going oon. Thank you for your help. David

  27. I created a temp folder on the boot drive of the media server and put some of the files recovered from the RAID array in the folder and they played fine. No buffering whatsoever. The problem was definitely with the drives. Working on building a new media server with 2 3TB drives configured normally. No RAID arrays or external drive boxes this time. - Techowl -

  28. I cannot fathom how someone can suggest, that the preferred fix is to (manually or with scripting) demux, alter and remux every single video file that we have and will ever acquire in the future. That is not happening, and I will be moving to Jellyfin or Plex within the week if this isn't fixed by then. I can't watch anything, unless I set it to transcode, which breaks HDR for most files, and besides my server hardware is simply not beefy enough to transcode 4K HDR with subtitle burn-in on top. With so much of the good content coming out having non-English speaking roles or such a terrible audio mix that you can't hear what is said half the time, subtitles are critical for the viewing experience. Waiting months for functioning subtitles is crazy for a media server service, regardless of whether it's LG or Emby that is at fault. FYI: I haven't updated my TV since I installed the last version, so it has to be Emby that has messed something up. I always update the TV and Emby app at the same time precisely for this reason.

  29. Thank you for super quick response. I just checked it out - sounds promising. I already installed Emby 4.10.0.3 but I see that I have to copy the ddl to emby plugins folder and I am on Synology 7.2+ so it will be lost between updates and some tinkering have to be done. Cause of this I'll try it some other day - I already did setup my library with strm files for multi language support for different users. Is there maybe a list of planned features which u guys are working on? Currently I am mostly cheering for native support for "same files, but different language libraries" and "manual plugin installation page" (no surprise with this one ). I have to admit that I am feeling like 15-20 years back with this Forum - I mean it in positive way. The google indexes Forum results, the Forum is friendly (I mean users and overall UX/UI) and searchable. No some bullshit "have to register to read", "have to create account..." I am just feeling like the time when Internet was an awesome place Also Emby is very "owner/privacy/customization" friendly (plex can learn thing or two from u guys - I used plex for a month) and way more performant (then jellyfin - used for half a year). Way to go guys! I already bought my lifetime pass ❤ - I am only sad that I went for Emby as last - each setup and learning curve took me some time Btw. the multilangauge librariers also need some workaround for jellyfin (there I created symlinks for jellyfin), but they are very good in plex (no custom setup needed). Anyway - huge thanks for all your work guys.

  31. NA, Thanks. Seems like you have pinpointed it correctly. It would be nice to know the cause and fix, when it's resolved. === 'One by one' can be streamlined to potentionally one click to extract, convert and replace all 5000 media files and possibly a few sessions to transcode graphic subs to .srt. Repeating commands one at a time, is not required, once you set up a batch. I am not sure from your post, if you were already aware that was possible. ffmpeg or mkvtools can be scripted to extract all the subtitles, from every media file, all at once and replace the original media with copies that have no embedded subs. (Back all files up first.) - [ One click or Enter key for each directory tree. ] There is also a batch conversion option to change graphic subs to srt. Those could also all be done at once. Example software: https://subtitletools.com/convert-sub-idx-to-srt-online - [ Drag and drop all files to convert. ] An extra plus, after auto extracting and converting, is that the demand on your server will be improved.

  34. This one i can answer. it's because we haven't gotten the stable update yet @hjason7812. Once there's an update that ends in .0 will the bot for the truenas app that Stavros maintains push the update to us and hopefully we are back on stable then. I say hopefully because i don't know how smooth the upgrade from beta to stable will go

  37. Coments like these are misleading, (at least) Plex doesn't support remote transcoding out-of-the-box. There's a bunch of plugins adding that functionality, yes, but they don't support it natively either and I consider them not suporting it as well. I can't find any evidence of Jellyfin even support this, but most searches lead to "just use rffmpeg in stead of ffmpeg", which is also a valid way of dealing with this. You could just replace the ffmpeg exe file so that rffmpeg is called with the same arguments. Still, they both don't support it natively either. I do find the concept of remote transcodering fascinating, but I would be more interested in just having seperate versions of the same file so any device can always use direct play, in stead of just having to rely on the availability of processing power.

  38. I believe you will need the ID in the filename too if you are using the core functionality. From the docs @ https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html#multi-version-movies:

  39. I don't think anyone was being misleading, I just saw it mentioned a lot in the context of “lets you do lots of cool stuff with the new home page” and thus thought of it in terms of the sorts of things I, personally, wanted to do with my homepage. And I guess most people on here already use Trakt, so it's less of a redundancy there (do I need to be a VIP on Trakt to create lists? I can't see a way to do it). I've also spent a lot of time with the VirtualTV plugin, setting up channels, and that allows you to do more things with the Emby metadata rather than relying on external sources, so I just kinda came in with those expectations I guess. Not anybody's fault.
