I am trying to add theme music to my movie collection. Where is the collection folder stored? Is there a collection folder at all all? Is this even possible? I got my movies and tv shows to work by following these steps here Emby Theme Songs & Videos : Emby but I can't seem the find directions for the collections.

Yes that should do it a lot faster. After initial scan I have it set to "as a scheduled task and when media is added" That way Initial scan will run a lot quicker, and then scheduled task will take over and then when media is added.

Likely because meta-downloader/image fetchers got disabled or stuck - re-enable or untick/tick again all of them in your Collections library.

I would like to have the ability to check if a movie is already in my library before scheduling a recording in the DVR. The only way to do it now is to make a search. This mean going from on screen to another. It is already possible to not record an episode of a serie that already exist in the library. A similar option should be available for movie, One suggestion is to have a seach display on screen when scheduling the recording of a movie, in order to inform if the movie is already in the library or not. My wife has an issue on her iPad (but not her iPhone), that needs an iPad restart each night when she wants to watch emby. i was deleting the emby app and re-installing it, but then found a power off/On fixed it instead. she just gets a spinning circle otherwise on playback of any media. Same media opens in her iPhone. Both updated to latest iOS and latest emby. its a pain, but at least she is not bothering me any more about it.

Yes that's another thing I'm doing is adding more info to those log lines.

Tastes can change over time. Also you may have some songs you don't like but from a band you really like, so you still want to keep them.

Okay final thing i found out.... @sa2000if you ever find out how to rebuild the fts_search9, I believe this is the only table left with the duplicated titles stored but since its stored as a BLOB its a lot harder to read through to see, without just rebuilding the entire db let me know...but that table is currently at 9.2GB and when i delete it the search no longer works (makes sense), but it doesn't rebuild the search either ( i was just testing and being hopeful). Everything is running fine though even with that table as large as it is and none of the duplicated titles have come back since. I looked at what I could and didn't really find out how that table related to the others and the blobs for some were massive and some were tiny. Thank you guys for all your help, server is running great now.

Devs will still want to see server log for when you check the key and get spinning circle. May want to check the browser console for errors also as it would point to a communications issue with the admin server. You will also want to open a new topic for the client issue in LG section.

I don't know what I changed when I switched back to using TVHeadend compared to before. But now everything is playing normally. Even two streams to different devices are handled properly now.

Thank you for the detailed answer, I turned out to be a (tailscale) dns issue. I tried running: tailscale up --accept-dns=false and now it's working. It's still quite slow, but it's atleast progressing. But I guess slow is to be expected with 50TB of media.

This is the Nth time this issue is brought up here but has yet to be fixed by the Emby Team - it affects more than just Android, the Shuffle "randomization" is fundamentally flawed and makes it unusable, especially for large music libraries as it seems to "randomly" pick between Titles starting with 1 and Titles starting with A - its infuriating. How come this is still a thing @Luke? What is the reasoning behind "pseudo-random" Shuffle that only picks a minuscule subset of options? Please finally have a look into this, it affects all platforms and all players and all media types! further example posts of this BUG fix proposed a year ago by @visproduction "We are looking into this" has been commented by Luke for at least 2 years - so far ZILCH

Hello Luke. To be honest with you, I don’t remember setting up this. I’m pretty sure it was set up by default, but anyway, I use Emby for quite a long time now and this was never a problem only recently this became a problem, which is still becoming a mystery for me why it crashes when triggered by task scheduler and it’s not crashing when triggered manually. And that’s actually create another question. How much memory by default Emby needs to work smoothly without interruptions (?) let’s say with five active clients apps?

I confirm what you said. I had never had any problems until this week. I have some files with 44 subtitles that have never had any problems.

The image extraction using Emby default names seems to be working very good with the movies I've tested so far. Nfo files also. Thanks yocker.

i wanted to add an update and maybe help someone in the future. i removed my port fwd rules in my google fiber router and when i went to readd them with the server 192.x.x.x IP it wouldn't work. after a lot of troubleshooting i determined that google would only successfully forward if you choose the device from the list, not by providing the IP. for some reason my server had a ghost connection and was showing two connected devices, I renamed the one with the correct local IP to be more unique, set the forward rules to that and it worked instantly.

I’ve run into the same kind of issue before. One thing that helped me was clearing the server cache and making sure the library paths were fully accessible with correct permissions. Also, a quick restart of the server after any metadata or library change usually fixes the weird missing items problem.

The latest information I have is that they're hoping to launch support for installable apps in March and that we'll be one of the first. Until then it will require rolling up your sleeves a little to get the debian package installed.

Ok, what's this folder view BS and how do I turn it off? That seems to be the problem and I don't understand the purpose of "folder view" to begin with.

Author and File Format options are basic necessities for just any eBook collection! Series would follow pretty closely for anyone who collects books in a Series (which is very common). I'm really confused as to how the Book Library has existed as an option for as long as it has without even an Author option, or functional Metadata Downloaders. I tried migrating to Emby from PLEX many many years ago because I wanted my eBook accessible remotely on the same Media Server as my Movies and TV Shows, but I decided not to stick with it because it wasn't very functional. I transitioned to eBook reading in 2010 and haven't looked back, but have always been disappointed with eBooks exclusion from media center/managers. Books are the OG Media! Thanks to whomever is finally getting some work done on this project. I've reinstalled Emby from scratch and am playing with it again, but the Metadata system still needs some very simple things addressed. So I'm not all in yet.

That is the issue though as it shouldn't be a Feature Request for a feature the was remove/broke from a previous version when Collections were migrated from /data to /metadata.

Hi. The play progress is probably a vestige of a previous server version where it didn't get cleaned up. We don't currently keep an active history of things deleted.
