New version up (5.41.0) Added: Setting for lazy loading of posters, this makes it so posters are not drawn unless they are viewed making it require less CPU when scanning libraries. Caching for commonly used icons. Very minor performance uplift. Import and export profile options. Added image fallback, if the plugin for some reason can't draw a poster it will revert to normal Emby posters and in some rare instances prevent a crash of Emby. Changed: Moved some settings to the advance tap. Fixed: Cache improvements. Fixed small bug with SkiaSharp disposal. If you encounter any problems or have any ideas for the plugin then please report them to me and i will look into it asap, Download here on the page or on https://github.com/yocksers If you like the plugin and would like to show your appreciation you can donate a coffee at: Buy me a coffee this is by no means required!!! As of EMBY server update to version 4.9 the folder view has change to a "windows explorer" like structure in which single item movies are not display as movies anymore but as folders. This is being discuss here: So the official request is to go back, or at least implement a legacy view, so we can have the folder view we've been having since the beguining of time. Thanks1 point

Seeing this occur as well. Multiple issues with the latest versions of both apps on Google/Android TV. Turned off trailers as they were locking up playback. Now seeing issues with TV shows playing in succession as mentioned here, as well as some movie playback. Had 0 issues before most recent updates. Will try to get logs1 point

That's backwards for websockets... generally the clients do the keepalive to keep the NAT etc. alive from their routers or ISPs. Anyways, if it's on the server, it should be even simpler hopefully? So possible anytime soon?1 point

Hi Just a friendly reminder to please include Nicaragua in the next Samsung Store country expansion. It was mentioned some time ago that it would be added, but it’s still not available here. It would really mean a lot to us (especially to my mom, who still reinstalls Emby every month with USB ). Thanks so much for keeping us in mind!1 point

Depends on what "little time" means After approx. 5-10 minutes of uptime the library still existed. After another restart, it was gone in like within 5 seconds after the start. But still found it worth reporting, as endless loading animations is a bit frustrating to see.1 point

Yes, I think you’re right, DirectPlay for FLAC audio files is probably still enabled. Sounds like the logs will help1 point

I rolled forward to beta and it works now. But note, if you don't backup your db, you can't roll back.1 point

fair enough, i have room for two GPUs in my system and I'm trying to juggle three things: 1. video transcoding for Emby and so on 2. a Windows VM that needs 3d video acceleration to run Windows specific apps like SolidWorks 3. a Games on Whales instance that lets me play games over the local network to computers that do not have enough power to run games locally (or cannot due to being a Mac or something) right now Windows VMs cannot share a GPU with the host, it needs it's own. virtio-gpu driver support is still being worked on. that leaves my most GPU intensive task and least GPU intensive task sharing a GPU. Right now I have an Intel Arc A310 and a Nvidia Quadro K6000, with the latter likely being the one i replace with a Nvidia 3060 or something equivalent. I could problably find an Intel Arc B580 to replace it and give Windows the arc A310...1 point

Just came to see if anyone else was having this issue. Both my iPad Pro and iPad mini are doing the same but my android phone can download from the same server with no issues. wiped app off iPad mini and reinstalled but same issue1 point

For the Roku specifically, the user experience would be terrible because the Roku cannot run multiple apps at once. On other platforms it may be possible but this just isn't our intended goal (aggregation of media streaming sites) at this point in time so it isn't a very high priority.1 point

I have spoken to my ISP and they have now disabled CGNAT on my account. I'm not at home to restart everything and troubleshoot, but I'm hoping that will resolve it.1 point

I would love to have "dynamic playlists", like for example "all movies of X director", or "all movies where actor X performs", "all albums of X singer". Anyone else likes to have that? by the way, great media server buddies! I enjoy it a lot1 point

I played the same file successfully on my TV using a newer Android TV box. Direct play.1 point

Another vote for reverting this or making the old way at least an option. The new way is useless in Folder View. Since I have 2 movie libraries, one still behaves the old way and one the new, the old way code is still there somewhere (structure-wise both libraries are identical ultimately ending with a single folder with a single movie, ie Radarr layout).1 point

I put my +1 on the top post, and just wanted to further comment that a fix which restores the original functionality is absolutely necessary to support my continued use of Emby. There is no workaround in the current system. The suggestions made by the devs so far are incomplete. To replace the functionality we used to have, we would need: recursive nested collections auto-create/auto-update/auto-delete collections based on folders (because manually making a collection for every folder and maintaining it is a ridiculous amount of work) combined Movie/TV tab for Mixed Library and other affected content types (@Luke at least seems to want to build this) the ability to hide individual collections from the "Collections" view (since right now, I only have about a dozen collections, which I actively use as an alternate navigation view to find content that spans folders, such as holiday titles, etc.) but I'm literally going to need a hundred collections to recreate the nested folder structure as nested collections to get them to display correctly in the Movies/TV combo tab. So some Collection-view related enhancements would be desirable to allow the Collection view to have any utility at all, otherwise it will simply be redundant to any other view. Alternately, the devs could keep the folder metadata layer that they insisted on stuffing into Folder View, provided that they also add a means of uncrippling the Folder metadata, by adding an option that single-title-folders would automatically inherit (and utilize!) all fields from their child title, and the UI would also be updated to allow "identification" and "edit metadata" actions on the folder level to propagate down into child single-title content. Meaning that it would work exactly the way it did before, just with an extra folder metadata layer which now has extra logic to automatic getting copied around, instead of being naturally collapsed. (It seems needlessly complicated compared to what we had, but if there is a reason we have to have a folder layer for single-title-folders, this is a way of making it functional instead of pointless.)1 point

And this one too, which actually offered the best insight into what direction Emby is taking next (and it doesn't look good):1 point

Thanks for starting this post to consolidate everything. It would be nice to have a path forward. For the sake of documenting the full record, this has also has been discussed here: And here: And here: And most likely a bunch of other places, too.1 point

Thanks for providing the details. I suspected that too. I spend the whole day after my initial response and read another use with the same exact model and OS version which helped explain it. for now, I’m happy to stay on 4.8 as I don’t have any issues with that version. I have it back up and running in full force on that older stable version. what are your thoughts on spinning up a separate legacy package for older systems. These NAS are running well even though it’s old so not sure how many others may run into this issue other than me and that other user on the forum.1 point

I have made it to the mountain top! Just a refresh, ultimate issue was genres of "Sport", Biography", "Musical", etc were not being used by Emby's current metadata providers and I wanted the more nuanced genres, so here is what I did: 1. Add ACDb plugin's official and community driven collections (Sports Movies, Film Noir, etc) to my Emby 2. Use Bulky to select all movies in a collection and then bulk add the appropriate Genre (Sport, Film Noir, etc) 3. Make this post and revel in the fact my OCD(-ish)ness get some love via a minor accomplishment haha Thank everyone for offering input. A little bit of insight from each you is what got me to the promised land1 point

But then what will I use for favorites? The 'favorites' system however is almost identical to what I need. If I could have two of those lists and rename one of them, then I'd be happy.1 point

Having a watch later list can be very useful. I imagine I'm not the only one who spends a lot of time finding something to watch and see a few things that I might want to watch at some point in the future but forget about them if they are not in a list somewhere. Yes you can create playlists, use Favorites or some external list keeping service but they are all more involved than they need to be. Something similar to Favorites in functionality but with the ability to remove items from "Watch Later" automatically after you are done watching them would be nice. And add what you want to "Watch Later" with an easy to access button similar to favorites. Easily accessible, easy to add and remove items. (Very similar to favorites) Removes items after you are done watching them. It should not be affected by a previous watch status, as in if you have watched something before you should still be able to use this functionality.1 point
