Hey Emby, I've got msg about the new version, but release 4.9.1.80 is not available in the Docker registry for pulling (empty in x64 and in ARM )4 points

Hi, Just upgraded to 4.9.1.80. I have noticed the Live TV --> Recordings view is now seasons view rather than the old flat episode view. How can this be changed back? As Live TV is recorded and can be out of order, and I keep the episodes relatively clean, it was much easier to find episodes in the old view, particularly when lots of different series are recorded with only 1-2 episodes each. I have had a look around and can't find an obvious method. Thanks2 points

I started removing plugins one by one....it was EmbyIcons.dll after all! sorry for the false alarm. @yocker2 points

Maybe, the wording to me sounds like users won't be able to change quality at all with the setting though. I'm not at all complaining, it's a nice addition to Emby! Just not what i think most are looking for to help with the transcoding "problem".2 points

I want to use URLs like the following for the IPTV with DASH-Steams (MPD-files). The benefit of this URLs is that I can shift the time, e.g. when I missed the beginning of a TV show etc. #EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="Das Erste HD" tvg-id="DasErste.de" group-title="Vollprogramm" tvg-logo="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jnk22/kodinerds-iptv/master/logos/tv/daserstehd.png",Das Erste HD #KODIPROP:inputstreamaddon=inputstream.adaptive #KODIPROP:inputstream.adaptive.manifest_type=mpd http://daserste-live.ard-mcdn.de/daserste/replay/dash/de/manifest.mpd This is currently not working, so I use files like the follwing instead of MPD-files: #EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="Das Erste HD" tvg-id="DasErste.de" group-title="IPTV-DE" tvg-logo="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jnk22/kodinerds-iptv/master/logos/tv/daserstehd.png",Das Erste HD https://daserste-live.ard-mcdn.de/daserste/live/hls/de/master.m3u8 => It would be nice if DASH-Stream (MPD-file) Support could be added. I attached basic files for the IPTV DASH.m3u Normal.m3u1 point

Title I HATE the mobile app on my TV, please, for the love of god, STOP asking me to "try" it. I did, it's terrible, in my opinion, and I don't want it. I'm sick of being pushed towards something inferior, that is not what I paid for. I promise, I will go back to Plex. You already got my money, so you probably don't care, but word of mouth is powerful. I can only click no so many times before I lose it.1 point

So, I upgraded to 4.9.1.80, I'm running the portable version so I just swapped the SYSTEM-folder as I usually do, backing up the old one. When starting emby server a scan was initiated that took a couple of hours. After the scan all my movies had been added right now. All metadata shows all movies were added 2025-10-01 10:16:34 Not a big thing but the "latest movies" and the sorting is all off. The TV-shows are same as before, so no change there.1 point

I've just noticed that the current version is 4.9.1.80. I am eagerly awaiting the new Flatpak release.1 point

The problem with the series view is: 1. Series with no episodes still show up. 2. It is not easy to see how much is recorded and how much you need to catch up with. 3. Having 20 series icons with 1-2 episode each increases the number of clicks to get to the recordings. (There could be 3 episodes each in their own season). Makes navigation painful. 4. As this is live TV there are often repeats (here in Australia the XML TV guides are not properly tagged as repeats). So there is a lot of cleanup to do with random episodes in different series. 5. I have been using the TV -->Recordings view exclusively as the Direct Recordings view was series based. Any PVR i have used in history has always just shown the individual recordings, the series view has taken away this normality for me, and not sure why. I couldn't see this in the changelog that the episode view was being removed either. If there could be an urgent option to change the view between these it would be great, as I'm considering downgrading. 10 year Emby supporter.1 point

Not necessarilly related - but i suggest changing the database cache value. In 4.9.x we open a number of DB connections and each would try and use the configured cache size I suggest reducing database cache size from 1000 Mb to the default of 128 Mb Also if you get problems like this in future, adding debug logging may give some clues if server fails to stay up, edit system.xml (when server process is not running) to change this line to "true" <EnableDebugLevelLogging>true</EnableDebugLevelLogging> system.xml would be in this folder C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config1 point

I don't imagine it would change anything, while these are related topis, there shouldn't be any change to the logic behind the decision to transcode. If you are direct streaming now, there's no reason adding HEVC as a transcode option would cause things to start transcoding.1 point

I just updated to 4.9.1.80 a couple of hours ago, and yes refreshing the metadata on the playlists fixed every single one of them, thanks!1 point

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. For automatic downloads, the answer is no, not currently. But that would be a good thing to add somewhere.1 point

We can look into it during the next beta phase. Thanks1 point

Just noticed my Emby test server had already updated. Embyicons seems to run fine on it though. Can i get you to try and reset the browser cache (ctrl-shift-f5) and see if that help? In the mean time i will test with the new dependencies.1 point

Hi! I have the same problem with HW Tone Mapping. Maybe the attached log files can help? Thank you! logs.zip1 point

That is how i understand it as well, effectively making it so users can't lower the quality if actually needed.1 point
-
LOL we all have different interpretation of it. Based on the option text: "Allow transcoding to reduce quality, based on the app quality setting..." I would assume - if disabled - it will override both Auto fallback and in-app user quality reducing, i.e. effectively only allowing native (and higher) bitrates.1 point

Possibly another server log as there really is nothing in the posted one as startup looks fine.1 point

Actually it's done already, but we've been busy getting the new 4.9 server release out. I'm glad that we managed to get three important fixes into it, which are crucial for the WebStreams plugin. I hope the update will eb there shortly. Please remove the streams, restart the server and add them again.1 point
-
That is not feasible, as Emby won't remove items from the library if whole mount point is disconnected/unreachable/offline (as @brothomsurmised above), a feature number of users, in particular those with network drives, asked for - only if folders/files underneath are not present, those items will be removed. You'll have to rethink your workflow.1 point

As far as i know all tracks were tagged with MusicBrainz as tag source. So i moved the folder and files out of the library, scanned the library, moved the folder and files back into the library and scanned it again. Now all is good. Did this same thing with some others CD's that were having the same issue and it worked like a charm.1 point

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. If anyone else has setups they would like to share for the next one, please get them in! Pictures are definitely welcomed for sure1 point

He wants to restart Emby server automatically, I think. I run Emby as a Windows Service, using nssm for setup and control. When I had a need to restart the server, I wrote the following trivial batch file and scheduled it in the Windows scheduler.: c: cd \Users\administrator\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server nssm restart emby exit Paul1 point
-
For all intents and purposes, a program shouldn't determine if an operating system should restart, the operating system itself should be responsible for this. If you're on a Windows device you can use "Task Scheduler" to add a restart schedule. That's what I've done. If you need help setting this up, I can provide my own schedule to help you out. If you're on a Linux server, you should use something like crontab or systemd.1 point

This happened after recent update to the transcoder. We have removed the "failure" indication when logging this response - as you see it says "Process exited with code 1" rather than "Process exited with code 1 - Failed Nevertheless, I will raise it again and see if we can get it changed to 01 point

Just upgrade to 4.9.1.80, there's nothing else to do. 4.9 is now stable.1 point

Ahh so it went from 4.8.11 to 4.9.1. I was thinking I was WAY behind, thanks.1 point

Hi, once the update is posted, your server should get it within 24 hours. If you want it immediately then just shutdown and install from the website.1 point

This sounds easy to achieve but practically it's not: Different feeds can have different formats, different availability (what if one url stops working) and different URLs with different redaction requirements, etc. You need to consider the following: The plugin is done in a way that each source is working on a single URL. A change to that is not realistic and doesn't make much sense. What we might be able to do instead is providing a way that certain WebStreams sources can be combined into a single view/hierarchy at the side of Emby server. I'm not sure how @Lukewould think about it?1 point

Hi, yes we need to look at adding dash support into our ffmpeg build. Thanks.1 point
