  1. Hi there! I've solved my problem. I bought public IP for extra monthly fee. Thanks a lot to everyone

  2. From what I gathered, Softworkz (maybe some others too) did a load of work, that would have greatly improved TV, and he did the Media Center theme which was great. Both of those pieces of work have been held up with no let-on of availability in a production release. The server betas are every few days with mainly "regression fixes" or "improve database performance" and the whole 4.9.x release has been dragging on for months, despite relatively little in new functionality and mainly bug fixes. Something is holding it all back. It's probably agreement of team for a new MAJOR version so that people will have to pay for it, possibly. Unless the Emby team comment, which so far, only Softworkz has put their neck out to try and describe in a meaningful way, but you can tell they are constrained. The releases were said to be speeded up after 4.8 was released, but that hasn't happened either, unless it was 4.9.x as was quoted quite a time ago. We can ask as much as we like on here or protest even. but unless the Spokesperson gets to the lectern to give us all a speech, treat it as pie in the sky There's nothing that can replace Emby for me, the only competitor is Jellyfin, and I would rather stay with Emby unless the changes get too idiotic. I've been here since Media Browser days, so got no choice but to sit it out till they are ready as I can't see anything else that can replace it at this stage.

  3. I honestly don't think it was anything in your setup - likely my DLL Given the sustained interest over the past several months though, I think I'm going to try to work on it a little bit at a time (because it still is fun for me) but I'll work in a private repo so as to give myself the leeway to start fresh, but someone can still fork the archived repo if they want while not expecting much from me lol. With that said it really seems this idea won't die so I'd like to give it one more go!

  4. Currently, when I play a piece of music, Emby then continues playing music that was recently played, playing continuously. I'd love to see some kind of algorithm for this, like YouTube does with continuous play. For example, if a song in your own language is played, does the algorithm combine them in a fun way at least if continuous playback is not based only on previously played items

  5. Emby Server Version 4.9.1.24 beta Since upgrading to the server version above, my DLNA-connected stereo is showing all Album Artists from all available libraries, when I look at Album Artists within one library. I have 4 libraries made available to my DLNA-connected stereo: Audio books, Radio Dramas, Classical Music, and Popular Music. Steps: On DLNA device, open the Audio Books library. Switch to "Album Artists" view. At this point, I see all album artists from all 4 libraries, mixed together. Prior to this upgrade, I would only see the Album Artists for those items in the Audio Books library. Log file is attached. embyserver.txt

  6. Hello, we are using Emby premiere to share family videos and photos. However, we ran into an issue – in the Emby mobile app (Android/iOS) it is not possible to download a photo directly into the phone’s gallery. The “Offline download” feature works, but it only saves the photo inside the Emby app. That’s not very practical – for example, parents would like to download a photo so they can set it as a wallpaper or share it outside the app. It would be great if there was an option to: Save a photo directly to the phone’s gallery / camera roll Or export a photo from the offline Emby library to the gallery I think this would help many users who use Emby not only for videos but also as a family photo archive. Thank you for considering this!

  15. It is a fully accessible drive in Windows, has been for a long time. Kind of hard for it not to be if the TV shows record to it but not the movies. Must have been a glitch. I will switch back to the original directory later just to see what happens. Now that I know it was just a directory access issue I am not concerned. I no longer deal with network drives because I took my second machine and server offline since I bought two 16Tb and two 18TB drives and no longer need multiple machines with a lot of 4 and 2TB drives. Less electricity and no need to deal with network issues and RDP etc. This all happened last February when emby went wonky for a month.

  16. Ah man .. just checked. I've been a complete and utter doughnut. I changed the drive mapping for a bit of housekeeping shortly after my rebuild. Went on hols and forgot all about it coming back home. It explains why the movie that I moved to the other folder to test (which is the same drive) works. Because that had the correct drive mapping from newly setting up. Thank you for your help !!

  17. I think I tracked down the issue, though I need to have some friends test their connections. I've now configured the internet streaming bitrate limit in Network. If the problem continues I'll let you know. Thanks responding.

  18. Thank you, I will look at that later when I have some time. Like I said this is just some testing so nothing here is finalized. I just want to make sure everything is working before I migrate to the new beta server.

  21. No, if you look through the log it is filled with errors anytime the server tries to access your F or G drives. In this case the error is different from before. Now it saying device not ready whereas before it was saying permission denied. Both of those errors are things that need to be solved on your end but of course we can try to point you in the right direction. The first thing I would do is make sure you can access those same folder paths in windows explorer, with windows running under the same windows user that launched the server. What kind of drives are they, anyway?

  22. I guess what I'm looking to find out is, if we spend the time on this development, who will be utilizing it?

  23. It was chosen as a good first project to trial and onboard a new developer because it was mostly isolated work that wouldn't impose too much risk to the rest of the system. And it is something that is requested regularly all the time. His second project, which you'll find out about soon, is not live tv related but is also heavily requested. It can be found on the first page of feature requests sorted by most reactions.

  27. Actually, this isn't really a problem anymore these days, because what the Xbox does is to decode all bitstream formats (incl. Atmos) and sends the decoded bitstreams for all individual channels uncompressed via HDMI (for Atmos it re-encodes to Atmos if the TV supports it) This means that you don't miss anything by letting the console do the decoding. It prefers that, because then it can mix-in its own sounds into the audio signal. (there are some instructions somewhere to force the Xbox into bitstreaming, but the results were mixed, when I last looked into the subject). On the PC it's mostly the same. The integrated mpv player also decodes the audio format and sends it as uncompressed audio via HDMI (hence the channel layout settings), but it cannot decode Atmos and DTS:X. The latter two are the only reason to use bitstreaming on a PC and there aren't any on the Xbox actually.

  28. And they will continue to have regression fixes until they implement a proper testing methodology. It boggles me the amount of time spent on fixing regressions and the amount of time spent constantly jumping on new .NET versions, instead of actually doing any real development.

  29. I had the same issue recently and traced it back to constant traffic spikes caused by someone using an ip booter to hit my server. Once I limited port exposure and tweaked Cloudflare's security settings, the challenge screen started showing less often. Also found that tweaking browser integrity checks helped reduce false positives for legit users.

  30. Hi, I don't have the exact same setup as you, but just tested an Album (all Songs) Genre change with Mp3tag (FLAC files) and 4.8.11.0 on Windows PC with the web app. Try going to the Folders tab in the Music Menu and doing "Refresh Metadata" from the parent (Album) folder. Hopefully this will work? Generally I find that "Scan Library Files" from the parent-level folder, even several levels above the tracks, will update nearly everything underneath. When "Scan Library Files" doesn't work, then "Refresh Metadata" usually does, but not 100% of the time. Whatever the scenario (with 4.8) using the Folders tab rather than the Albums tab has always been more successful for me.

  33. Of what? There is nothing to take a picture of because it is off screen. This is simple. I click on the channel icon in the left column and a window pops up with 2 weeks of programs. I click on the first program to select record or just read. When I exit it goes back to the page of listings for that channel but now instead of two week it shows only the next 8 hours of programming. It seems to depend on the content how much it shows but never more than 8 hours. How can I take a picture of that? The description should suffice.

  34. Yeah, it’s the one thing that keeps me from being a paying customer. Infuse and ChannelsDVR will play DV and HDR, Plex will play HDR and fall back from DV to HDR. Emby doesn’t trigger HDR, so the picture has a green tint to it.

  36. Just take your app to the veterinarian and have it "fixed." That way there will be no problems and less fighting.

  38. Hello! I was the original person who started the project a long time ago. I simply have been unable to put in the requisite time needed to bring the project to MVP due to family, obligations and just life. Or maybe I'm just manifestly horrible at time management I originally wanted to use the DSub app for Android with Emby, but since then, Symfonium has been released which leverages Emby's own API and it's a pretty solid app. However, I'm sure some people would rather use other Subsonic clients as well. Anyway, I archived the repo a month or two ago as I wanted to let people know that I wasn't going to be actively working on it for the time being (although it still could be forked). And my schedule of course could change in the future although I can't say if or when. Personally, I would want to start from scratch anyway as I previously was working off of the latest/last Subsonic API spec, and since then OpenSubsonic has come on the scene which aims to be backwards compatible anyway. With all that said though, given the amount of interest this continues to generate, I'm still motivated to work on it for sure, although at this point, I'd be sure to have at least some functionality before unarchiving the repo and spreading the word so as to set expectations properly. I already had a good start - the key I think is having a translation layer to translate Subsonic API calls to the relevant Emby functionality (of course you could use other calls to call directly into Emby's native API but that seemed like a waste to make another HTTP call; I was implementing the functionality from the standpoint of Emby's SQLite database to cut down on the network calls).

  39. Technically I have two machines like this, so if I had to split it out, I'd write it something like this: Operating System Version Desktop Environment Window Manager Compositor Graphics Fedora Kinoite 42 (No overlays) Plasma KWin KWin on Wayland Intel iHD 630 (mobile) Fedora Kinoite 42 (NVIDIA drivers are overlayed) Plasma KWin KWin on Wayland NVIDIA Quadro P1000 (desktop)

  40. And continuing on this o/t stuff briefly, I have a couple of Plex copies running, and a Jellyfin If Emby disappeared jellyfin would be for me unusable and imo is years behind Emby plex i could make work, but doesnt have the flexibility of Emby but the core stuff it does very well

  41. Thanks. Here is a vote for implementing a stack that supports QUIC. This feature of QUIC alone makes it worthwhile for Android Graceful handling of network switch events, for example, when a user transitions from a WiFi network to a cellular data network.

  42. What this says is after 4.9 is released in the far future, it will likely be years more before live TV improvements might be made. (given the current rate of releases ... ) No commitment, no target date. So, to sum it up, "just foget 'bout it" and everyone go home.

  47. Hi Guys, Isn't it possible to transcode just the audio track in a stream? (Like with H264) I try on emby but it doesn't work. will it work in the future? For example, if an AV1 file has an audio track with DTS and the device does not support DTS, then H264 will only transcode the audio track. <- AWESOME This doesn't work with HEVC, that's why I hate HEVC and was hoping it works on AV1... But apparently if the audio codec is not supported by the client, AV1 is transcoded to H264, is there no audio coding alone with AV1 either? That would be really bad if you have a lot of DTS and 1 or 2 people with LG TV without DTS license or Browser play Another question: Would you rather choose MKV or MP4 for AV1? I heard MP4 is better for remote streaming. Another question: why is AV1 to AV1 (or HEVC to HEVC) transcoding not supported if the audio format doesn't fit or you want a lower video bitrate? It is always XY to H264 which means a high loss of quality and bandwidth. AV1 / HEVC encode + decode is possible to reduce the bit rate or correct the audio track?
