The thing is this, Luke said 4.9 would be a short beta. And since we’ve got (at least, that have been publicly announced) 2 major items still being worked on for 4.9, it seems pretty certain that there’ll be another 3 months beta at least. My overall conclusion, if I put Luke’s original statement together with today’s reality, is that it doesn’t point to a well controlled development and release process. And one consequence is, poor expectation management and disappointment for the user base.

Probably a small use case but dual subtitles are really useful for me. Is this something that could be added into the android app in an upcoming release? The situations it's useful in are: Two people with different native languages Learning a new language easier If I could select two languages it would be easiest as combining subtitle files might become much harder.

Received my MECOOL MEgo1 4K Google TV Stick today, and was quite impressed. I used it on a 1080p TV that belongs to my aunt Bertha and cousin Cletus. I set it up so they can use my Emby server, so they can cut cable. It is a master piece for that option. It can be setup so IF I travel, all I have to do is plug it into one of the TV's HDMI ports and I have everything I need............. Fantastic little media player for that situation. Finally figured out how to add "users" for out of network.......... WHEW, took years to accomplish!!!!!!!!!

Shouldnt be a hard disk issue. Synology uses raid so it typically wont expose a disk problem to the os in that way. Are you actually cd into the directories to make sure there is actually something there? You could also just rename the directory. Stop the emby service from auto starting. Try and either rename it or take the permissions off then reboot the thing. (hopefully whatever is holding it or doing something weird cant and gives up.). Then try to rename it or delete it or whatever. You could also do ls -A to list all the stuff in the dir. Some stuff could be hidden. I dont mess with console much either but linux is bad about uppercase and lower case in commands (I think case sensitive is dumb .. but all the linux folks always have some random reason it makes sense heh). I thought you had to use -R to recursively delete things .. that might be for chmod or whatever. You could try using a piece of software called bitvise tunniler. It pretty much does everything easier when messing with linux stuff. Its all drag and droppy you dont have to learn a bunch of different stuff. It can also make an ssh tunnel to rdp or use that ssh tunnel to create a local socks proxy (meaning you can tunnel your web traffic thru a proxy server … that is actually being made my tunniler over 443 if you want you know .. unfiltered internet access for some reason. Just make sure you turn your login banner off :D.) poopspan. No promises but hit me up sometime and maybe we can do a discord screen share. I have gotten a lot of support from this community and would like to pay some of it back. I am also running synology DS1821+ DS1817+ and a few synology based VMs in an esx cluster. I think we should be able to figure it out. Have a good one.

Thanks Neminem, I have looked at that and it looks good, but I am a Noob to Docker and don’t really understand it yet. A lot of the other softwares also are loaded via docker so have been stuck. the Emby solution so far has worked ok for me to remotely access my library but it’s just a bit of a work round to save and share files. It looks like I’m going to have to learn Docker

I feel honored, next year, it will be 10 years since I started this... I do love Emby!

Right currently composer is supported, but not writer. So that's something to look at.

And when will that happen....it's been brewing for what...18 months? We should all consider ourselves lucky emby is not something necessary to live.

can you make a way to filter devices by the devices that user has logged in with. Example, currently if you go to user settings and uncheck "all" under devices, it shows all devices. Need to filter devices in that list by devices that user has used.

Emby does pull the composer from the TCOM tag in MP3 files. I don't think it pulls, or displays, the Lyricist (from TEXT tag in MP3), though. In my tag editor: In Emby, after re-scanning files:

Thanks for looking into it, but never mind. Problem is solved, I have just deleted cache and data of the Emby app and the trailers are working again.

This could be a very helpful feature for English learners to display both English and native language subtitles.

I've found one instance where I want to see the list of songs, and that's for the "Various Artists" artist. However, even that will not be ideal until the VA artist from Library A shows only the songs from VA albums in Library A. Right now, if you have 2 or more libraries, and each library has a "Various Artists" artist, the VA songs from all libraries are mixed together, regardless of where you access it from.

Hello everyone, I would like to be able to display two subtitle tracks at the same time. There are browser extensions that do this for Netflix but I would like to have this feature in Emby. Having the option to choose a secondary subtitle track would be great. I watch a lot of media for language learning. For me this would be very useful. Let's see how popular this feature request will get or how hard it would be to implement. Cheers!
