  1. Hey Luke and team, I can confirm that the Emby app is now available on the UAE Samsung TV app store. All working well so thanks guys for pushing this through and getting it added.

  2. I definitely think they need to be more specific about their roadmap, even if they say they plan to implement in 2028, its better than us asking for these same features every couple of years

  3. Howdy. I have been using emby for almost 5 years paying monthly and would like to know how to get emby to do like jellyfin does please, thank you. https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-spotlight-trailers-on-the-homepage

  4. Hi, Thank you for the great product. It is a pleasure to use it. I have seen some posts but they are years ago regarding my request. Is there a plan to have notification (when adding movies, shows, live tv etc.) from the emby app ? This means to get a push message on my android phone, iphone, windows app, etc. With 3rd party software its not so cool. Thank you.

  5. @yockerOk, just got home and was able to test it. It worked perfectly, exactly as expected. thank you! I don't see a way to edit the time limit for existing users, so I just needed to delete and re-add the user (not sure if that was intentional or not). The only thing that I would like (not even sure it's possible) is to somehow expose the enable/disable time limit and extend time for each user on the main interface/emby settings somehow, since the plugin settings are not available when using the android emby app on my phone.

  6. Name those episodes as Specials high enough that there's no match with online providers, i.e. S00E100, S00E101... or S00E1000, S00E1001...

  7. There is still a little work to be done but all the features should work if you want to try it. If something doesn't work then please report back to me so i can look at it. WatchingEye.dll

  8. . I ha I've been inquiring with Trakt Support, too, who said something that seems a bit different? "It seems the issue is that episodes 3-6 currently don’t have their TVDB IDs added on TMDB, so we don’t have them on Trakt and Emby can’t match them on our end because of that. I’ll add those IDs both here and on TMDB."

  9. Not getting the best tool for the job based on that seems short-sighted to me. Why does it matter? The tech in my wrenches is centuries old but they are still the best for certain tasks.

  10. You can use DNS to give a name to your Emby computer's IPv6 address - it's easier than typing it out each time. Your Emby computer will have an IPv6 address from your allocated block; it may be a bit complicated, so you might consider setting a simpler address for it manually. As IPv6 doesn't use NAT, there's no address translation in the router, but you may still need to tell it to allow inward connections - port forwarding, just like with IPv4, to allow it through the firewall. It may depend on the router make how easy it is to find the IPv6 settings. If you don't have your own domain name yet, you might prefer to use a DDNS service - https://dynv6.com/ is one specifically for IPv6, or better known is https://blog.noip.com/ddns-for-ipv6-keep-your-devices-accessible-anywhere . 12. I figured it out. My router changed the ip of the Nas even though I had it set to static. I'm back up and running!

  13. +1 on this, I tried searching Fantastic 4 and nothing came up because the title name is Fantastic Four. I feel having some sort of fuzzy search is necessary to make search usable.

  14. Holy crap, yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. I was going to ask about a person user option, but didn't want to get greedy. Thanks so much, really looking forward to testing this when it's done.

  15. @feerlessleadr Would something like this work for you? Still good amount of work to be done so might as well ask before i get too deep into it. Plan is that you can add and remove users. it will stop any playback after a specified time has elapsed for any specified user and refuse to start any new videos. It will be possible to see how much time a user has left. The time can be extended by a specified number of minutes. The timer will reset after a specified number of minutes or at a specific time of day. The user limit can be enabled or disabled easily with a single button if someone should have limitless time for what ever reason. Everything will persist after a reset of Emby so no timer is reset because of that. Lastly it will still be part of the original plugin but i will have to change the name to something else though.

  16. Fixed! I went into trakt and deleted my emby connection there, then I reauthorized as a user on - emby connect this time, instead of through user settings on the server, seems to be working fine now.

  17. You are behind cgNAT; you cannot connect from outside using an IPv4 address. Possible solutions when using Emby: Ask your ISP to let you have a routable IP address (if they do, they may charge). Use IPv6, if you have it. Get around it by using TailScale (free) or some other meshnet or VPN kind of solution; these require a client on each server and client device involved. Change ISP to one that doesn't use cgNAT (but they may change in the future...). Plex gets around this by sending your connection via their servers; this compromises your privacy, of course, and relies on their stability and performance. Paul

  21. After taking some legal advice, this is even worse than this. Using PayPal is not good enough under UK legislation. I have to use a service such as yoti face recognition, there are others, these have monthly subscription plans or per user charges. It doesn't end there, according to them I am not exempt at all regardless of what others tell me, I am totally liable. If someone reports their child saw adult content originated from me I can be sued, even if they did or not. So if someone thinks fast buck to be made here and sues then I am in a world of hurt unless I have followed the guidelines exactly . To do this I have to secure my server, add an age check function then an access method that uses encryption so it cannot be bypassed by a clever kid or bad actor. If I am to return service to ADM I have to cover all bases or accept the risk that I can possibly loose everything .... The easiest decision is to give up, the other is a big hassle... What a world I live in!

  26. Either is fine but for ssd drives failing more often are you sure you don't mean flash drives? In my experience flash drives need more care and you need to EJECT to avoid corruption. You can try getting one ssd drive as a test and then if you like it you can keep adding more. Even SSDs a bit old and slower work fine for viewing but might make you wish for more transfer speed like you're wishing for now. Being happy with your system is all that matters.

  27. To be honest i do not care about drive speed for Emby as I find just regular drives perfectly fine. But i do recognize that my usage is, probably, pretty unique as I do NOT have any remote users and I. 99% of the time. only have one local user because i do NOT allow my dog access to my system at all. He is just too clumsy and drools too much. But that could also be said about several people I know. I am quite sure that overall speed could be improved by using SSD drives but, for me, it simply is not worth the expense. Also my experience with SSD drives is that they have a higher failure rate than regular drives. Another thing that makes my setup unique is that my eyes do not really see that well and I cannot detect any difference between good 1080p and the best that can be acquired or ripped. That means that streaming a single file, which I all I can watch at one time, never even come close to buffering or freezing. I believe the largest file on my system is about 3gb and most are at or below 1gb and many are in the 600mb range or even less. But my situation is not the "norm" for most Emby users so i try to indicate that when I make recommendations. However DrivePool does not slow things down enough to make a difference in any situation I have heard of. I do wonder just how much SSDs might improve things but I have not wondered enough to make testing worthwhile. The only time I wish I had more speed is when I am moving a lot of files and that is rare enough to make it only a wish and not a desire or a need. BTW: I keep NO Emby system files in the pool, or any file that must have frequent updates. because having things like Emby database in the pool only make for a lot of database failures.

  28. I got rid of that NAS system and use SSD drives on a USB extender. Much better speed and far less likely to fail. Add another drive and simply add that drive path to the same library by repeat the same folder structure as the other drives and emby puts it all together as one. I just copy a drive to another drive as a backup. SSD drives are more expensive but worth it. Movies library path on drive one D/Movies add another drive and make another D/Movies folder. Drive 3 the same etc etc

  31. I connect them to a computer's USB ports. (I use a USB extender to have more ports available. I just have them in a old style multi-level tray. I do not provide and additional enclosure as heat is the major enemy of hard drives. They are available to DrivePool because DrivePool and Emby run on the same computer. There used to be a limit on the number of USB devices that could be connected at one time to a single computer but that seems to have been overcome in the latest Windows 10 releases and I believe that Windows 11 also. (It is possible that i simply have not hit that limit recently as I keep my total number of external drives to 12 or so) I thought about an enclosure for my drives but I decided that I did not need one and it would be nothing more than extra unneeded hardware and another potential point of failure. There a a lot of exposed cables and wires with my setup but I actually find exposed wires a comfort. and exchanging a drive takes less than 5 minutes. I have everything, computer drives shelves and power supplies. on a single rolling set of shelves. That way I can move my entire Emby system anywhere I want without unplugging anything except the power and I have a UPS on that same rolling shelf system that can hold everything up for about an hour so moving my whole system is pretty simple. I do not say my setup is "best" or even good for everybody but it does work for me and I have little problems as long as I make sure I don't snag any wires when working with my system. But I am NOT trying to talk anyone into using a setup like mine. I do not think I am either typical or even perfect but what I have does work for me. Oh, one thing I have not mentioned before is that DrivePool allows drives to be seamlessly mixed regardless of size or how they are attached to the computer. I have several different sized drives (from 4 tb to 12 tb) in my system and the last time I replaced a drive I put a 1 tb drive in place of a 4 tb one. That was seamless as well. DrivePool is about as close to a perfect system for me as there is, except, maybe, for a single 100 tb drive but I do not think those exist, yet. But they are getting closer all the time. I remember when double sided double density 5 1/4 inch floppy drives entered the computer world and their size was measured in kilobits and terabits were just a pipe dream of a very few engineers. My 80+ tb of drive space is a bit greater than the storage I had way back then. Now all I need is a better source of programming so my budget is not so impacted by acquiring media. It gets expensive fast. I could not afford my collection if my uncle had not left me his huge library. I just have added some to it. Of course most of his library was on DVD or VHS tapes and getting all that media on hard drives took time. A pretty great deal of time. My old mind sometimes gets off subject when thinking about things but I hope I answered most of your questions somewhere in this excessively long missive. Sorry for the length.

  32. This isn't really the correct 'Solution'. A lot of modern shows are no longer using the classic 'fixed' intro anymore and thus the Intro detection alogiritm is using what it thinks to be similiar passages of quiet music. Thus all the Intro's listed above are incorrect. It would be nice if there was an option on a TV Series to simply ignore Intro detection - maybe for the entire show, or more granular such as per Season. You could just add it to the metadata as a manually set option - 'Ignore Intro detection'. yes/no - default to no. The Plugin used to have this option... I used it a fair number of times ..

  33. I hope Emby can introduce a new video playback mode where videos in the same folder can be played with a TikTok-like vertical swipe, allowing users to switch between videos by swiping up or down. It’s a playback mode like a short video mode, where you can swipe up or down to switch between videos.

  34. HI, a while ago we tried to include the screensaver feature into our Samsung app and Samsung rejected the app over this. I think they thought it would cause confusion with the device screen saver. Anyway we can try again to include it, but that is why it currently doesn't have it.
