  1. The way this beta is going it will probable take a year longer than the last beta. It feels like they are doing everything they can to prolong to not work on this.

  4. And another great reason to keep 4.9 in beta! C'mon @Lukeand @ebr! "Support date played as a selectable field in poster view"

  5. Could we get swipe gesture functionally in the mobile apps that would enable adjustments of audio volume, screen brightness and playback position? I use VLC on android and they've implemented this well, it's simple, intuitive and a joy use. It's explained here, https://www.vlchelp.com/volume-brightness-seek-gestures-android/

  6. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  7. Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Thanks for reading. -Kyle

  8. is it possible to so? It's annoying to have to click for every new episode if Emby determines two files to be the same content? this often happens in recordings, but in other aspects as well. I can see why some might like this, but there should be an option. Is there? If not, can one be implemented?

  9. Yeah probably. If I have to recreate the webhook in discord its not a problem. I think they are on to it with that other thread.

  10. That’s your webhook url sending back an error code, probably due to something being configured incorrectly. What that is I don’t know. Maybe you left something blank that needs to be entered.

  11. Hey Luke, Sure thing. To try and capture what is or isn't going on, I'll enable debug logging, then click the scheduled task that runs the user activity report. Hopefully there will be something in there if that data is making it to the webhook... It is definitely making it to the email I receive nightly.

  12. We could also have a custom option added in which we can select specific libraries that will be shows for that home screen section line. Example: Let's say I have 6 libraries right now. On my android phone I can see only 2 and need to scroll horizontally to see others. My suggestion would allow users to do this: Home screen section 1: Library 1 Library 2 Home screen section 2: Library 3 Library 4 Home screen section 3: Library 5 Library 6 So all 6 would be visible on the homescreen without any need for scrolling.

  15. Hey @Luke! Just wanted to share that I also had the issue of Hardware acceleration not working after updating to TOS6 and by using the build you shared it worked now! Any plans to have this the normal (Beta) release? Thank you so much for the fix btw , I was already regretting doing the upgrade

  16. @ebryep noticed those threads as well! Combining all three would be the ideal world subtitle-wise if you ask me.

  17. +1. For larger shows such as "The Simpsons", "Family Guy", "South Park", "The Office", etc where chronology doesn't really matter, having a random shuffle would be nice. However making a playlist and just shuffling that playlist is just as easy at the moment: Go to TV Show (for example Family Guy) Hit "..." and Add to Collection Give the collection a name, for example "Random Family Guy" Go to the new "Random Family Guy" Collection Hit the Shuffle button

  18. Hi. I believe the next release of the app may solve your issue. It shouldn't be too long before it is out for you to try. Thanks.

  19. i would like to see as feature that isn't bad to develop, i would like to see where when you're on the bottom of the page or half way there is an up arrow that shows up on the right side of the page where you click it and you're brought back to the top of the page you're on immediately. nothing fancy just convenience is all.. thanks

  21. As a quick update- that might be a red herring right now. Looks like my root drive has completely filled up- 20GB of temp cache has appeared. I suspect at least some of today's issues are caused by that. Let me resolve this and see what the situation is afterwards.

  22. Just looking more closely - this is different from the issue I described This relates to the path of the actual playlist itself I will look further into this Restoring a server to a different OS / Platform is not recommended

  23. I'll post server logs by the afternoon (the only one I can collect I think). For now, this is what I get checking the MKV file with MKVToolNix, the codec is VobSub. Again subs are showinng with Emby on any device but the LG TV Emby app. P.S. User is different because I believe I wrote the OG post from a different device with emby user logged in, but It's me.

  24. I saw the blog announcement for the Samsung version which mentioned improvements to FF/RW and hoped there was some overlap with the LG version but that doesn't appear to be the case. Holding left and right still just commences the stepped FF/RW then it takes multiple presses to get x3, x4. Previously you could hold the direction button down and it would step forward repeatedly based on "Skip Forward Length" settings. I know I'm repeating myself here as you seem to defend this new behaviour but all I ask is you start up a movie and fast forward to 1 hour in the movie and time how long it takes. Then divide that time by 10 and that's how long it used to take with a "Skip Forward Length" of 30 seconds. I assume this change is due to newer remotes not having separate FF/RW buttons. It would be good if the behaviour was optional. And just because I don't know where else to put this and it might show up on a google search for someone, my TV was having trouble opening the content store for a couple weeks but I hadn't worried about it. When I tried to update Emby it actually gave me a reason I could do something with. It couldn't find the domain lgrecommends.lgappstv.com I tried pinging it and it seems to have disappeared off the internet. Finding a similar post which had ph.lgrecommends.lgappstv.com, I tried pinging au.lgrecommends.lgappstv.com as I'm in Australia. This gave me an IP address so I did a DNS override for lgrecommends.lgappstv.com to point to that IP. This got me to the spinning dots on the TV but it eventually timed out and just stated the content store had an error. So I turned the TV off at the wall until the standby went off and turned it on again. Not only did it install the Emby update but the content store is running substantially faster than it ever did before. I guess it was always running off an overseas location. Hope it helps someone. It wouldn't surprise me if LG just got rid of that URL and didn't update people running on older TV's. Even though my 9 year old OLED did get a firmware update a few months ago. Maybe that's when they broke it....

  25. I like the idea of “immersive gesture control”, i.e. the ability to control various aspects of playback—such as seeking, volume, and brightness—without having to bring up the control overlay. It can bring fluid, distraction-free interaction. This is a common feature in many modern video apps. Currently, if you want to stop playback, you need to tap the screen to reveal the control overlay, then tap the stop button. Similarly, double-tapping to fast-forward 10 seconds also brings up the overlay, which is unnecessary. Adjusting brightness requires opening the overlay and interacting with the brightness slider. Swipe gestures really is the best answer. They allow users to fast-forward, rewind, or adjust volume and brightness seamlessly, without interrupting playback or revealing on-screen UI elements. Unfortunately, it seems the devs are reluctant to add it for years. I still kindly urge the team to reconsider implementing it—at least as a toggleable option in settings. Other than swipe gestures, many modern players offer alternatives that are worth considering , such as: Two-finger tap to toggle play/pause; Double-tapping seeking that doesn’t invoke the control overlay.

  26. For those of us with older servers it's cheap and easy to buy a low profile dedicated GPU and drop it in there then it is to upgrade the server. You really don't need the latest and greatest to run something like Emby, at least for a household and not too many parallel streams. OS: Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS CPU: Xeon E5645 @ 2.40GHz x2 Motherboard: Supermicro X8DTN+ RAM: 48GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Storage: A little complicated since this server is used for quite a few things. 11x12TB, 12x6TB, 1x120GB SSD, 3x3TB, and 3x24TB; spread over a 12 bay back plane and a 24 bay disk shelf. For Emby concerns, there is 215TB for bulk storage of media, and a shared 6TB of fast storage for Emby itself. Clients: 5 in-home devices, 6 if you count music-only. 1 remote. Library: 1970 movies, 1956/51630 shows/episodes. A large portion of which is from my own owned media, remuxed by myself. Granted, most of my clients do not need to transcode and can directly play most things. I simply don't see the need/want to "downgrade" via transcoding media that I purchase and remux to have in the highest quality available.
