Emby, thankfully, does not supply media files. I have my own. All I was trying to accomplish was to use Emby to access my media files (migrating from Plex). Emby didn't seem to want to do that at first. That's how this thread started. It looks like things are moving now. I am building the first "library." The progress bar is now at 96%. It moved fairly quickly until it reached 90% and then became very slow. Let's see how far it goes. Thanks to all who have rushed to my rescue. We are not out of the woods yet, but we have advanced.

Unless I'm being a bit blind (highly possible!), I'd love a way to hide a couple of the top green navigation items without hacking it in myself. For example, in Movies I don't want the 'Trailers' item to appear for any profile and for TV I don't need the 'Upcoming' nav link. Obviously not a major issue but thought it would be a nice thing to have, perhaps allowing them to be re-ordered like the home page items but again just a nice extra,

Good evening, I'm having an issue that started yesterday, if I stop playing something that hasn't finished, it'll go to the "Continue Watching" section, let's say I stopped at minute 12, if I try to Resume, it will not resume, it just keeps spinning and spinning, then if I press back, the "Continue Watching" resets it to 0:00, so I'd have to start from the beginning and if try to select where I left off or if I try to rewind, it just gets stuck again. I've tried restarting the Emby Server and also restarting the whole Physical Server. I have attached some logs from the server for you to take a look at, if you want information from the media I can give you some, but since this is happening with everything, I don't think it's a media issue. Any advice helps. Is it possible to have a QR code to scan with your phone when needing to add the PIN for Emby Connect? That way, when you need to login to your Emby Connect, you can just scan that with your phone. Then it takes you to the login page so you can add the PIN it gives you? That would be awesome to do instead of having to type out/copy the entire URL. Thanks for reading. ( I did search if this request already existed and nothing came up).

Hi, we can look at adding this to the metadata editor. What I would suggest though is refresh the metadata on the movies or series that the actors belong to and see if that helps.

Could also add a quick calculation to sum the values from a few hundred pixels across the chapter screenshot. If the sum is below a certain threshold (that indicates a black/dark scene), advance 1 sec and try again and repeat as needed. A small (negligible?) additional load on the CPU, but could keep the chapter screenshot as close as possible to the start of the chapter.

I don't really know when it happened. I just noticed that I was missed many months of episodes so I started digging and noticed that the channels were gone. Fixed it, then checked again another month later and they were wiped out again. I don't have those logs anymore.

I want to simply filter my listing where there are no tags at all. I think I requested this before and received no answer?

There are a lot of shared icons in the CoverArt thread. AI is also very good at making them if you want some made.

I did some research on my end and found that Synology and Asustor will let any user access the Recycle Bin share set up in each folder. Changed to only allow root to access and got my ID tag problem fixed. Just in case you have anybody else reporting the same issues....

I have solved this problem. It triggered OOM error and the service was down. I added auto-restart to the systemd config file and now it's okay.

Items/<ItemId> is not a valid API. You need to use either /Items?Ids=<Id> for partial item response but with support for multiple items at once or /Users/<User>/Items/<Id> for the full item response but with support for only a single item at a time.

Just wanted to do an annual ping on this. It seems like just adding a 10–15 second delay on the chapter images would fix this, and be easy to implement.

I've forked plex-beetbrainz and created beetbrainz which importantly now supports emby webhooks. beetbrainz will match the played track against your own beets database and then scrobble that information to listenbrainz, enabling the exact match to musicbrainz. If anybody out there is using emby, beets and listenbrainz give it a whirl. Report issues on the codeberg repository.

Sorry can you provide a specific example as I have never seen a proper named folder.jpg/png or poster.jpg/png show up in any library but will be presented as folder image. ie folder images per folder But there is really no bulk operations for what you have described.

It would also be helpful to know what client app you are using on what device and on what network (local or WAN/remote). And sometimes you just need to reboot the server machine ...

Also, make sure windows network is set to private, check your firewall setting, are you running a VPN?

Many thanks, appreciate it! I will write it up in the list of things to look at but i don't think i will add more overlays. Originally it was just meant for languages and to not step into CoverArt and Iconics territory i kept it at that, having added for HDR and resolution kind of stepped over that line. (They have given me permission!!!) If you have the know how then you are welcome to add it to the plugin your self, the code is free to use how ever you want, even make your own plugin out of it.

I believe this is web client only ? It's just very frustrating that the only major improvement that I have been waiting for is taking so long. Yes I would want it for all clients - but if emby understandably only wanted to invest time to implement it on the Android platform (not AndroidTV) then it may well be the push needed for AndroidTV users to finally accept the inevitable and move clients..

I spun up an instance of Jellyfin over the weekend and was playing around with this plugin that allows you to create custom list and views on the homepage. It's a bit janky and laborious to configure but is pretty interesting. Semantics? Softworkz has been using the completed TVNext for at least a year according to him and I have no reason to doubt what he says. He even told me that the reason not to include it in emby was not on him and also made no sense to him. Whether true or not I think I remember something about the core of emby being rewritten and thus the completed module TVNext no longer worked correctly so then it has to be updated and that is the hold up. If that is correct then what I said is true, TVNext was completed and compatible but not included. If this is correct you are technically true here to but functionally you are gaslighting. This is the problem for the emby team...no one believes what you say anymore. You are like the Democrat Party, our eyes see something different from what you say. Emby has been broken in the web app for me since last Feb and it is not getting corrected because I have to wait for the new beta, but 16 months? Really? I apologize for busting your chops. I have nothing against any of you, I am just frustrated from having smoke blown in my face for 5 years on this issue. The reason I came to emby and the reason I bought Premiere was for the promise of LiveTV actually functioning properly right around the corner back in the fall of 2020. I have concluded there is a "Decider", as in KING here and all of you have to haul the water and suffer the consequences for him but whoever he is he has absolutely no clue how to run a business. Once again, I will reiterate. I love emby and I use it every day in some capacity but my frustration is in not being able to use it the way I want, they way that I was told it would be soon all those years ago. I just don't post much here anymore because the only thing I really care about is TVNext and I am worn out on purposely vague promises. Me too, except not only have I been waiting almost 5 years from it being promised as right around the corner it has actually been completed and functioning for over a year. It is like everything around here, don't consider it happening unless it has already happened.

I feel kinda dumb as I can't get the flag icons to appear in my library (running EmbyIcons 1.19.0.0). Settings are like this: I've put the icons filename that I want (gre,eng) both in 2 letter and 3 letter filename format -just to be on the same side. I run the task in scheduler, I waited, check the log and it's processing the subtitles and audio streams fine. Tried to refresh the metadata on these libraries just to make sure....no subtitle flag icon overlay anywhere. What am I missing here?

Hello Luke, no, this is happening with everything I play.

Yes, that did it! I thought that scanning the library files was the thing to do, but refreshing the metadata on each of the movies in the series created the collection and added the movies to it. They even have a poster of the movie series saying "Collection" so that's a nice feature as well. It seems like the thing for me to do now is to refresh all the metadata on the MOVIES library to have Emby create all the collections that it can? I'd like to also have collections for specific actors like Denzel Washington, Jason Stratham, etc. I assume that will be a manual process, or is there a way for Emby to figure that out? This is really great. Thank you all for helping me with this. Sometimes there are movies in a series that don't have consistent titles and I can easily lose track of all the associated ones. Having collections REALLY improves our experience.

Hi, I would try refreshing the metadata on all of the movies belonging to the underworld, hunger games collections and see if that helps.

Hi there, on latest Emby beta 4.9.0.37, can "None" be added to the Tag filter? Right now either "Any" or a selection of one or more custom tags must be chosen in the drop-down. I specifically want the titles filtered to None, meaning show titles with NO tags.

While I’m STILL procrastinating, are there any other flags needed?
