I was just looking at the episode list of Hannibal season 3 to see how many episodes there were left and saw some major spoilers in the thumbnails which made me think that it would be a good idea if there was an option to hide thumbnails for unwatched episodes Thanks.

For all the talk here, this FR has amassed 20 likes in 4+ years - not really reflective of the "vast majority". As stated before, I'm all for making it optional - but not default or the only available behavior.

There's a couple things going on. This is a user-less query. Based on the way the api currently works, you should use /emby/users/userid/items/xxx This means that wherever you configure your api_key for this app, they should also have a user selection box so that all queries of this nature will be based on a user library. I realize that is inconvenient as this will require development, but that's just how the api was built way back when. It was designed so that queries could be made with and without a user id depending on context. Usually things that display will be based on a user library, and things that are background operations will not. So why are the results so different when querying with and without a user id? This is an Emby issue however I can't give you a timeline for changing this behavior. The majority of things that use user-less queries are things that operate on files, and they don't care about things like multi-version, so this is why the results come back ungrouped. We should change this, however it will be highly disruptive for a little while due to all of the places that have written code based on the current behavior. So therefore, the easiest short term solution is to have Homepage use user queries.

ability to be able to add a collection into another collection. ie: Spiderman Collection into a SuperHero Collection. like i could with mediabrowser with shortcuts. TIA

We use Apple TVs as our preferred devices ( have tried Shield and others) and I really prefer the Apple TV. I came to emby from the other platforms and have used Infuse with them in the past. I setup Infuse to work with Emby and I can play Atmos files that have the compressed lossy format. I understand the Apple TV only supports this version of atmos and not TrueHD. Would you please add support for lossy Atmos to the app so that we can play these files without needing to use Infuse? I would rather use the native app. I have seen a number of users request this from the "other platforms" and they have not gotten there. I expect this will bring a lot of new customers to Emby and sell Premiere subscriptions. If there is a licensing fee that Emby has to pay to enable this, I would also be willing to pay a one time enablement fee to add the feature to my server in addition to the premier subscription. Some times I forget where are all the settings are and 'are they related to this or that?', 'user level or system level (or both!)?' I'd like to be able to search for a setting then go to that section. Right now I'm trying to find the poster stuff and can't find it. I thought "I'll click this magnifying glass here in Settings!" but no, that searches my libraries. (This would seem to be a problem within itself - context, context!)

Kodi has a “ hide spoilers” feature for this. I’ve seen so many major spoilers! There was one TV show where an actor hadn’t been in it for a few years. The post is almost ten years old. Not holding much hope.

This is because each playlist under userplaylists is assigned to a user internally when the playlist gets created. If you just copy a playlist file into there, the library scan will find it but you won't be able to see it due to it not being associated with a user. Thanks for following up.

Was kinda misleading, I assumed the next 4.9 build was referring to release and there was nothing after testing that was indicating testing wasn't possible right now.

The TV library must not be included in another hiearchy assigned to another library.

If the API usage is taking place as part of the registration page the "secure token" is most likely exposed for the looking. To be protected better (for starters) you would need the registration pages to have a backend process that runs independently from the user pages. This backend only process would be using the API so it's never exposed to a user's browser but instead is ran from a trusted/hardened dedicated location. "we’re continuously monitoring" doesn't sound like something a home server admin would say.

Hi Luke and Darren, Thanks for the follow up guys. Long story short, it was all my fault. Luke, I told you I've been exhausted. The other night I moved my server to a different network and forgot to reestablish the path until I read your response. I've been just too tired to see it. LOL. I'm laughing my butt off. Emby could see the server but as you stated could not dial back. LOL!!! My Tubi and Pluto links run off my Linux server, and that's why they were still working in Emby. Darren, I'll visit Apollo today to check on what you've stated. If they are systematically doing what you've stated, it sounds like they may be trying to move towards a model like Hulu. The Startup show may start populating advertisements, unless you pay for the non-advertisements tier. It's my 3-day weekend but I'm about a week behind on schoolwork. Luke I'm going to update that other project tomorrow. I need to focus on school today while the house is empty. Thanks again guys!

Hopefully it something that can be fixed by Emby. I've found that on my local network, downloads can usually happen quickly enough that the duplication occurs much less often, but it does still happen occasionally. But if I'm trying to download while connected to an external, slower network it happens frequently and a single file may never complete before it stops downloading and then creates a new duplicate download, starting at zero percent. This happens over and over again.

I think the bottom line is that library and media type are not the same thing. The folks with multiple libraries of the same media type are the ones that would appreciate this the most.

Might want to chat with Amazon support and make sure you don't inadvertently have 2 Fire TV's listed in your account. for about two weeks I had that same issue but with Prime and all it was was my old Fire TV still being registered on the Prime account.

I guess a lot depends on whether you are interested in what it is doing and want to expand your own intellect on the topic or not. I took the initial scripts, re-wrote a lot of them for my own bespoke purposes - so I now have an overview knowledge of what it is doing and why - to me, that is much more satisfying than simply asking AI to do it. On the flipside - there is no denying it's impressive to be able to do this - a new age indeed - for the better ? In a lot of cases yes, in others, no - the human brain will simply degrade if it is not used.

One annoying thing i find that i hope gets fixed or better is if you are outside of your local network and you just want to watch your offline media, if you have a connection like mobile data turned on it will try to connect your your server which it can't since it is local only and when it fails you can then finally watch your offline media, to solve this you have to turn off mobile data and then it will instantly fail so you can connect to your offline media, It would be nice if you had an option to say don't connect with mobile data, hopefully then if you have mobile data on you can view your offline media instantly when not connected to wifi, Or have an option to have startup behavior to have server selection/ offline media page shown first

Just used cursor AI connect it to my Ubuntu system told it everything I wanted to do. It downloaded all the tools converted the file. I just sat back and watched. We are definitely moving to a new age.

Can people give real life examples of how filtering the search BEFORE running it is any different to how it is now, when it filters the search results POST the request ? Granted I don't have 100's of thousands of items - but on a search of about 60K items - it finds items in ALL the libraries in less than half a second - and then displays the results as 'Top results' but also gives me the option to narrow it down (with a single click) if I know what library or media type it was more likely to be under. In this example - I search for 'battle' .. but what I'm actually after - is not the 'common' finds - but a Song from Tiesto called Battleship Grey .. so I click 'Songs' .. and there it is. It's taken no less 'clicks' then if I were to select 'Songs' first and then do a search ? Maybe on slow machines, it takes significantly longer to search everything first ? Does anybody have a practical example to show ?

Have had the controls problem for a while on my Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon. I decided to reinstall v19 and the controls have returned. So happy now, will wait until a fix for v21 is published.

Hi, Just to chime in, as I am facing the same issue. I have narrowed my issue down to a certain instance: Start a download of somthing (movie / tv show etc) and while that is converting start another one, which does not, or might need converting (not fully tested). It seems to be as the converted items tick up and queue they re-queue everything that is already in the queue i.e.: My BITS event viewer shows lots of: I can then see, about once every few seconds the same number of "6" event code items being listed. Then on the downloads screen all of the info then appears again as a new download. If I cancel the converting item, then it stabilies. So to me, from a very simple view, it seems like the server it broadcasting to re-download the items that are not fully downloaded & for some reason my laptop is not properly keepigng track and just re-queuing. The way I have worked around this, is to only download things in batches.. i.e. I want a few movies, use multi-select then download them. then wait till they are fully complete before doing the next thing. It seems a bug in the handeling between laptop / client and server at the moment.. but when it works - its great

So yeah.. I couldn't help my self plus i was bored so i updated the plugin. It now has video discovery like "trending" " popular" and so on plus i fixed some stuff, it also checks to see if a video has already been requested as to not make multiple and identical requests. I never got it to work properly with user tracking.. So in some rare instances it might be a little strange there, like when a user not registered in JellySeerr makes a request. This time it will be the last i do to the plugin for sure, so someone else please take over if you want further development. As before.. I'm somewhat a newbie at this, it does work on my side though. Do with it the code what you want, i don't really care. though it would be nice with some credit if you further develop the plugin but absolutely not required! To the Emby team.. I know and understand why you don't want something like this in your apps but.. It would be awfully nice to have something like it though! Maybe open for 3rd party or something so someone else could make it. For people who need the instructions.. Just copy the EmbySeerr.dll into the plugin directory of Emby. EmbySeerr.zip

They mentioned a smart playlist feature in version 4.9, but it’s still missing in the beta release. I guess they haven’t figured that out yet.

I'm happy for you, that you have a way to accomplish this. But, hey, let's just never make enhancements or improvements because, ya know, there is always around it, eh? We don't want to make things faster or easier for users.
