So rescanning meta data on each library has fixed it to the correct date. So I am working now, and that is good. But I do not know why. Server has not been rebooted, no updates to the server OS or Emby. There was the plugin "tvdb" that said it was updated today, but I have not restarted Emby server yet, and the corrected dates started appearing before that hit. So there is no reason I can tell that caused it to fix itsself, and no way to prevent it from happening again.

Newly added shows (tv shows and recordings) now have the correct date and I dont know why as I have not changed any settings on the server or client, nor ran system updates. Older items still show the incorrect date.

To me, that small extra amount doesn't seem like much. It will save you from having to setup workarounds.

I have this same issue and the diagnostics options workaround posted aboved seems to be resolving it for me... This is your issue: Item cannot DirectPlay as you have bandwidth restriction in place (either server side or client quality setting) nor can it be transcoded (to a lower bitrate) because you have user transcoding disabled - hence playback error. You need to either increase server-side bandwith limit/in-app quality or enable transcoding for that user.

EAC3 is Dolby Digital Plus, not necessarily Atmos. Anyway, you might wanna check MediaInfo plugin, it has number of options that you might find useful (Including displaying Dolby Atmos for audio tracks).

OK I think I understand, I had the same problem of CNAME with my ddns.net domain. It was a long time ago and I'm not shure remembering everything... You must use a TXT record certification. Your domain provider should deliverate it to your certificate provider.

@NinkoI have turned Audio back on and you can now create Audio channels. I tried it with music, and it worked OK. I tested it with the Emby for Android client and the Web client. Also, the reason for multiple EPGs is motivated by my desire to have a unique EPG for each holiday and a separate EPG for weekends and the days of the week. Vic

All systems do this because its two items in the database, plex does this, jelly, emby, you either merger them or you have 2 files on continue watching because they store tracking by the imdb/tvdb/tmdb etc and not unique file id since you could change the file but most people would still want it marked watched.

You can lock either the Studio section only or an item altogether (notice the lock at the right of Studio header in Edit Metadata dialog).

Scroll down on item/series Detail page to "About" section, you'll have all the Studios listed - you can click/follow any of them.

I did another test. I checked to see if the two users had "Remote Control" turned on; they did. But the server causing the trouble had a second user that had "Remote Control" off. I turned it on and everything worked fine. Thanks for your help. Vic

Hmm; I see the problem. TMDB has the same layout as TVDB, but even less information (and Emby doesn't use IMDB anyway because $$$). But if you're planning to set up all the metadata for yourself, would it not be better to share the detailed information you have by updating and completing the TVDB listings? Not only would that help others, but you'd get to solve your own problem displaying them, and save some time because you'd be building on the data that is already there!. After all, TVDB is a fan-driven database. Paul

Audacity would actually edit the FLAC files to boost or lower the volume. That's not really feasible on a large library. metaflac will actually analyze FLACs and apply ReplayGain tags to them, and it's a command-line tool so it could easily be done in bulk. Of course, this is all academic until this is implemented.

It took me a while to get VLC to see the files, as it didn't seem to like accessing my NAS using domain based credentials. When testing a 4K file with FLAC in VLC on the Shield, the video stuttered randomly every few seconds and even worse than with Emby. With PCM there was minor stuttering, and with TrueHD it played smooth. I tested FLAC compression levels 0-12, but no difference. Not sure if I need to play around with the settings in VLC. I also noticed VLC swapped the channels around (centre to surround left for example), but Emby channels are ok. VLC on my PC plays smooth with everything, VLC on my phone over wifi stutters with everything.

easy, no problem, I fixed it myself. In the xml folder open the VideoFullScreen.xml and change the value of line 96 and 106 from 100 to 170. That worked for me

I'm looking at developing the LiveTV side of myEmby system. I have a question about recordings and pausing Live TV. I'm looking to replace the pause and record functions of the various TV Tuner boxes. If a user records a TV program and another user also records a different tv program, is there a way to ensure only each user can see their own recordings? If not can I request this as it seems quite fundamental. If It involves setting up multiple libraries and setting permissions to specific folders I don't mind, I just need to understand how to do it. - Come to think of it. If I created a recordings library for each user and assigned rights for that particular user, that would work, but I can't assign rights as they are not real users. Running ubuntu If a user pauses a TV Channel, does emby continue to store the program as it broadcasts, Where? and is it just till the end of that program or does it continue to record the channel? I don't believe there's an elegant way to do this now, so it would be awesome to have the ability to set the destination of the recording at the time the recording is set. All my kids shows go to the default location and I have to manually move them to the kids-tv folder/library in order to keep them off my UI. It wouldn't work at the user level because my kids aren't old enough to record their own stuff, and having to switch to their profile just to set up a recording would be a pita. Thanks

In the Live TV settings you can set Recording Paths for movies and series, but there are some occasions where it would be handy to have a custom recording path set when you schedule a recording. For example, I have separate folders and libraries for Kids Movies and Kids TV Shows as well as my regular Movies and TV Shows folder. If I schedule something for the kids, when I'm scheduling the recording I'd like to have an option to automatically send that recording to the Kids Movies folder. I'm imagining that being in the settings menu, when looking at the recording through the guide.

I have integrated Emby with Home Assistant using the default HA integration. Emby keeps exposing entities that make little sense to me or exposes new versions of existing entities. In Home Assistant, I have three versions of media_player.emby_sony_cast_tv , but only media_player.emby_sony_cast_tv_2 seems to be active in my automations. I also have 12 versions of media_player.emby_homeassistant and really do not understand what this is for or why this exists. Is it possible to clean all these up in Emby? I cannot find anything in the server settings to sort this out. This only useful entity to me is the sony_cast entity as I use it to control my lights.

As it is currently able to save movies to a specific movie folder but under Tv shows only a tv show directory would like to be able to specify what directory to save to according to content for example i have a seperate folder for cooking shows and would like the ability to have cooking shows saved to that folder when recording , the same for woodworking, Home improvement . etc. rather than having to manually move them after they are recorded. I guess a choice when setting the recording settings to specify a particular folder for that show or series as to what folder it is saved into vice just a Tv shows folder.

Being a whole home media solution and myself having a home with kids i would like a easy and automated way to sort recordings for the kiddos into their own place. What i believe would be nice would be: Being able to set a recording for a user. That recording going to its own users folder. Example parents recordings would have their own location and library entry. So the library entry would be say "Parents recordings" and the location would be say"/media/emby/Parents Recordings/"
