I have to side with @Smitty018210and @darkassassin07on this one, IIRC focus could've been brought on header only when clicking UP, meaning DOWN vertical navigation was not affected - but even if it were, doubling the number of vertical clicks (which is very limited number to begin with) is more than fair trade compared to infinite horizontal clicks.4 points

I know it might feel like pulling a teeth sometimes - but I also know Devs can be reasoned with, number of features (quite a few more than it might be apparent in the forums) do actually find their way into the product eventually, though some do take somewhat lo(ooooo)nger time. Don't give up just yet.2 points

So it's better to not be able to see the other pages EVER? 40+ clicks sideways in lists that refuses to remember your position to save 3 clicks down? Seriously? Who tf cares if you have to scroll past the headers, THEY'RE USEFUL and the only thing below them are external links. Move those up if reaching them immediately such a big deal. (it's not)2 points

Dear Emby Development and Maintenance Team, I recently purchased Emby Premiere and have been using the platform. However, I have encountered a few issues and would like to share some feedback for improvement: Unified Home Screen Configuration for Family Accounts: As the primary account holder, I would like the ability to centrally configure the home screen layout for all family member accounts (similar to Plex’s Premiere experience). This would streamline the user experience and ensure consistency across all managed profiles. Universal Support for Theme Songs/Theme Videos: Currently, theme songs and theme videos are only supported on the web interface and select apps. I kindly request that this feature be extended to all client applications (e.g., mobile, TV, etc.). Additionally, enabling these options by default (with optional manual override) would greatly enhance usability, as each family member currently has to manually enable them individually. These improvements would significantly elevate the cohesiveness and convenience of the Emby ecosystem. Thank you for your continued efforts!1 point

As a long time Theater user, I have been looking forward to the new replacement app for a long time. I am now using version 2.222.2.0. I believe that is the latest. Obviously a lot of work has gone into the new app. I think it might be a good idea to separate all the old Theater threads from the new Emby for Windows ones in the forum. It would be nice to be able to easily isolate what issues are being reported in the new product I am having some issues that were not in Theater. 1) I have tried hard but cannot see an option to select an external player now. Is that not going to be available? 2) If one is using a mouse, this doesn't much matter, but I use keyboard controls on my programmable remote, and I don't think the new app makes good choices about positioning the cursor on various screens. It often seems to leave the cursor at the beginning of the screen, making getting to the desired selections less than ideal. For instance, on the Home page, I would like the cursor to position to my first media library upon entry. Starting at the top is just clumsy and inconvenient. on the TV Recordings page, it would be nice for the cursor to position to the first listed show. When a TV recording is deleted, the window that appears has a cancel and delete option but the cursor is not placed on either of the buttons. This is one area where Theater was better. The ideal would be if we could choose initial positions, but that seems unlikely, so just more sensible defaults would be good. 3) On the TV recording page, that I use a lot, I am frequently having the screen become unresponsive to keyboard commands. This happens when I am navigating the screen. It looks like maybe focus is being lost somehow. I have to either leave and restart the screen or use a mouse to wake it up. Thanks for considering these issues.1 point

@LukeI'm posting this in the Android forum as this is where I first noticed it in TV Mode, but it actually impacts other Theater apps, including the new Windows App. On the homescreen with detailed preview mode enabled, if you long-press to open the context menu on an item, the active backdrop disappears and then re-appears when you close that menu. This results in a poor user experience. backdrop_disappear.mp4 The same actually happens if you hit 'Back' in this view and the focus jumps up to the top "Home" -- probably has something to do with the current item losing focus. The expected behavior is that the current backdrop remains visible. Thanks.1 point

I have an extensive recipe collection (literally thousands). I currently share it with my family & friends by sharing a view-only collaboration link for the main sub-folder in the Public folder of my iCloud Drive (screenshot). While this works for me, it would be nice to be able to include them in Emby, which is a much easier & user friendly interface that works better across platforms. I imagine this would be a subset of BOOKS, since the individual recipe files would function in the same way. The easiest way I found to organize them is by folder & sub-folder, then additionally organized by tags (for holidays, particular ingredients, etc), to simplify searching & browsing, also allowing cross-referencing (e.g. chicken recipes for Easter, etc). A quick-view feature to allow a user to "glance" at a recipe file before downloading would also be helpful, as would a way to keep it separate from books (or a separate subset of books), so It can be browsed separately, though I suppose browsing by FOLDER could accomplish that, even if less intuitive. I have heard that new BOOK features are being considered for future Emby updates, so I wanted to add this to the considerations. I am curious if there are enough other users that also share this interest to justify the effort to make recipe-specific features, otherwise folder & tag organization can work well enough.1 point

And add HUNDREDS of clicks horizontally lol Up - Down clicks = bad left - right clicks = good That logic has never made sense to me. Never will. Crazy thought give users the option to turn on/off Clickable headers? You don't want the extra clicks turn them off You don't care about extra clicks and want the clickable headers turn them on Why don't you let us decided?1 point

DVD order applies only if using TVDB as primary meta-downloader - in your configuration with only TMDB meta-downloader enabled it won't do anything. You can either: 1) Enable TVDB and put it on top on preferred meta-providers list, repeat process or 2) Lend your support here:1 point

Hi, this is the Emby community forum. There are much better places to discuss this topic elsewhere where you can find answers. This is not the right place for that. Thanks.1 point

Did you read the article posted above? There's an entire section dedicated to Installing the Emby Server: https://emby.media/support/articles/Installation.html1 point

This looks to be a completely different issue from mine! I might suggest you start a separate thread so your issue gets the attention it needs!1 point

You were right, it was the certificate. I hadn't used TextEdit in over ten years and saved the file with RTF formatting but the right extension. Rookie mistake. Retraced my steps and fixed. I can connect with the secure port number and resolving via browser shows the lock icon. No issues with the port number, I checked our fibre modem configuration and most ports are open. I was getting confused by being able to sign in over 8096 even though I set remote to secure only but if the secure configuration is broken like it was maybe that setting doesn't do anything. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!1 point

Yes! I marked the solution. Technically both his posts worked lol1 point

You looking at the right plugin? There isn't a 1850 release for TV theme songs? I think it goes to 1820? Maybe 30?1 point

Hi, what did you subscribe to exactly? Emby is a personal media server. You must have your own server and supply your own media (or Live TV) -- it is not a streaming service. You can learn more about how to get started here: Quick Start1 point

Thanks for the help. I think this will fix it.1 point

FYI you don't have to open the details page, you can click the Play button on your remote and the content will play directly from the poster.1 point

This suggests that Emby should not store the tmdb episode id because it will cause problems if and when that id gets deleted.1 point

As I have not regularly used that standard app, only checking every once in a while to see if it was fixed, I do not honestly know. I will check after it gets updated automatically, and if that part looks ok, I could try it again. As I said I normally have both app versions installed, so it is not a big deal to try it.1 point

The drag and drop functionality has existed in the plugin since early days mate - its used to drag and drop the actions list into an order that helps the user manage the list easier, but its also used to drag tokens into the parameters bar for configuring the outgoing scripting parameters. If you click Add (+) beside any of the actions in the actions list, then click the edit button on that new entry, then drag tokens and logic tokens into the parameters box Sorry, I'd screenshot but I'm currently holding a naughty little man who refuses to sleep1 point

Hello. I had the same problem after updating to 6.0.650. The Emby Server App in TOS was permanently disabled. My TOS 6.0.650 is accessible via port 8181. My Emby Server is accessible via port 8096. This solution worked for me: 1. First, uninstall the Emby Server app in App Manager. 2. Restart TNAS. 3. Go to File Manager => Emby directory. 4. In the Emby directory, rename these two folders: "data" and "config" The extension is irrelevant. I named these folders like this: "data.error" and "config.error." 5. Now install the Emby Server app manually. 6. Restart TNAS and try to access the Emby Server. If access via IP address doesn't work, try accessing the server via Emby Connect. 7. If you can access the Emby Server again, you need to check all settings.1 point

My examples in the first post. Why would a developer (not sure if that's the job title) make a user scroll through so much when it can be displayed as a page the same way the web version does? I have 80 movies with Bruce Willis. I can only view 7 movies before I have to start scrolling horizontally. So I get 3/4 the way through click on a movie but I decide to choose another. I click back and I'm taken to the beginning and I have to scroll all the way back again. If it's not geared towards mobile then I would suggest it's a poor way of doing things.1 point

I did some testing with ZeroTier and things are looking good! I'm running Linux on my side and installed ZT and shared out my media folders via Samba. My brother installed ZT on his PC and was able to map the folders in Windows and copy some files over at 40MB/s so the transfer speed was solid. But the test with him was just a speed test to see how fast he could pull the files from me. I'm going to do a full blown test this weekend with a friend on the other side of the country using Emby on both machines and ZT so I'll see if he can actually serve up my media to himself via a ZT/mapped drive connection. I'm also kicking around the idea of mapping a NFS share over the internet if using ZT doesn't pan out for the full blown test.1 point

Hi, there's currently no option for this, but now that we have the bottom tabs to take you to downloads, we'll look at improving this. Thanks.1 point

That's because doing so would double the number of clicks on a remote control necessary to navigate vertically.0 points
