Thanks to both of you. I imagined it wouldn't be possible due to the different access to the directories, but I was asking in case there was an app that could do it.2 points

Tried to search for this feature request but couldn't find it. It would be very good to be able to sort and filter the content of collections. I have some collections with a lot of movies (1001 movies you have to see before you die, Criterion collection, etc). As of today you can sort and filter the collections themselves but you can't sort and filter the content. So if I want to find an unseen movie from my 1001 collection I will have to scroll through a lot of movies. In the collection view you also separate categories (movies, tv, ...) and it would be great to be able to choose to not separate them also.1 point

OK, this looks like it will allow me to fix things.i really appreciate the help. Need to point out though, this has previously worked without this issue, albeit between CoreElec updates and using NextGen 11.x over 10.x previously something changed. Likewise the path used in Emby server I always followed the syntax example in the Emby Server UI when you add a library, and with this syntax successfully played back files irrespective of using SMB versus NFS shares, I preferred NFS simply because they don’t require user/password on local network.1 point

I have now discovered “Emby Theater” for myself, and I am very happy about it. And it works much better than in a web browser, because streams that don't work in the browser do there normally. What I also find ingenious is that nothing has to be converted. Everything is played-back directly! But at a resolution of 5120x1440, the font could be a bit larger. Since the thread is already a few years old, does such a feature already exist? I would really appreciate it...1 point

The stream is MBit but the storage is MByte, so you need to devide the bitrate by 8.1 point

Thank you so much! I didn't know that I could update it manually, but it's working now. Also, thank you for fixing the problem with dynamic playlists!1 point

Es probable que tu nuevo servidor tenga una IP interna distinta a la de tu servidor anterior y que el redireccionamiento de puertos este apuntando a la IP del servidor anterior.1 point

That would seem obvious right ? But no - Emby appear to want the transition from AndroidTV to Android to be as bumpy as possible. Personally I don't get it - the 'official' Emby version you get on the Play Store on an AndroidTV supported device, is the AndroidTV Emby version. You then get a less than optimal/older version with issues (easily solveable by them by updating the core player inline with their other version) - you then visit the forum with the issues (if they are lucky, most would jump to JF at this point..), and they tell you to search for the 'other' version. It then works (with some missing functionality etc) - having wasted your time and theirs in the process. Either sunset the AndroidTV version (give a date) AND in the remaining time, properly maintain it as it is a fully supported version. I think people would be far happier with that apprach, then 'hanging on' to a version that is clearly not being supported (despite still being the best version out there .. but that's another story..)1 point

In Plugins > Catalog - type CTRL + F in the browser and then type in the Plugin name (or part thereof) you wish to find. Agree the Plugins area should have a Search box but it does not.. If it's not in the Catalog, then you'll have to manually add the DLL provided by the Dev. Dev's may not want their plugins listed in the Catalog as this suggests they are somewhat 'supported' - when in truth, they are likely only supported 'best efforts or use at your own risk' - which as they are 'free' is 100% understandable.1 point

I have found a few bugs. When I reduce folders to IDs I forgot to set the include only videos property which caused theme songs to be included as videos. I will fix this problem today. Vic1 point

I can tell you the DS920+ is still one of the best NAS systems for native Emby Server deployment and playback with HW transcoding. It's one of the last Synology systems that's based on an Intel CPU with a graphic chip. I have been using the DS920+ since 2020, no problems. If storage space is an issue, you have the option to expand it with a DX-517, which I did, but it costs nearly as much as the DS920+. Nowadays I'm running a RS2416 that just hosts the media, the emby server is still running on the DS920+ and uses the smb share on the rackstation. There are cheaper options for a storage, but I got a really good deal fpr the used RS2416.1 point

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/99885-new-plugin-smart-playlists-20/page/29/#findComment-1383457 It's supposed to be in this release (4.9) - but that was back in September 2024 - so it's been 5 months already... It could be around the corner, it may be another 5 months - who knows - as Emby's definition of 'soon' or 'stay tuned' is very different to most peoples expectations ...1 point

After trying many times, I deleted all the music media libraries, cleared the Emby cache, and rebuilt the music media library. It returned to normal, so it seems to be an Emby metadata cache bug. Thanks again for your help!1 point

1. I can use smb yes, but no, I've always used NFS in the past 2. Yes I use Network paths in the Emby Server If you recall I said playback was working for the Music Folder, not the Video folders. Well I think the reason is that I had an SMB Share setup for Music, as well as NTFS as my Blusound streamer can only access SMB shares. Well I think its highly probable that Emby is finding the SMB share instead of the NFS share for music, as the IP/sharename is identical. So to test this I just added an SMB share for that Scifi share, added it as a Source in FileManager, and lo and behold the B5 ISO referenced above now plays back when accessed from the video wall scraper. So I think the issue is, that with a path as shown here in Meta-Data Manager, for whatever reason when you select it via Emby NexctGen, it is automatically assuming it is an SMB path instead of an NFS path.1 point

The core issue still stands, you have network issues. There is always the option to disable Websocket completely, but that's not really a solution and you would lose the capability for realtime updates from Emby server to Kodi (when Koodi is running). Alternatively, I could also add an option to hide the websocket messages, but this is also not a valid solution the the network issues. I continue log review...1 point

@_506_Emby is not a streaming service. Emby is software that operates as a personal media server only and does not provide any media. You can learn more here: Quick Start Thanks1 point

Wanted to reply here on this. Turns out that using that systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=0 in grub breaks the memory stats since it uses cgroupfs instead of systemd. What I did instead is set Emby as Privileged and will see if it will hold the GPU after a couple days. Unfortunately, changing the cgroup hierarchy is a bad trade-off because docker stats, glances, etc all can't show memory usage from the containers properly.1 point

extra note: It does appear to be permissions related. while using Cal's workaround i noticed that on the app i am not allowed to upload images for album covers. the option does not even show, while on the web browser i can access the option to upload images. i granted full access to disc on OS settings. hope this helps.1 point

Hi, I built a container to run this notifier (without cloning and running another container). I also changed the way the application works: 1 - config file to get telegram bot token, 2 - added admin users to receive all notifications from the server 3 - added users to receive only new/deleted notification items from the server. https://github.com/Yoas1/emby-telegram-notifier- (if you like it give it a star in GitHub and docker hub )1 point

Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:1 point

It makes sense. None of these suggestions negate any others. Better naming across the board would be valuable - per your "TV Commercials" example.1 point

The Sort Name field affects how it sorts everywhere, though, not just in a collection.1 point

It would be useful to add a custom sort order for collections, so collections like Marvel, DC Comic, and Star Wars's movies can be ordered by chronological order instead of release date.1 point
