This needs to be addressed at a system level and then it will just work everywhere. We don't want to start putting in hacks. I think there is hope in the not too distant future.2 points

As I'm transitioning from Volumio and Plex to Emby to centralize my usage to one app, the one thing I'm missing the most is gapless playback. This is particulary annoying when listening to albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I'm experiencing a buffer of about 1 second in between songs, which really ruins the immersion. Would be awesome if this would be implemented in both the Chromecast, and web player.1 point

@sross44 I don't know if you're still following this thread, but I just hit on another Plex vs. Emby difference that Emby wins: Support for Linux Mint. At least one of Plex's support staff who specializes in Linux repeatedly told me and others not to use Linux Mint, because it was too unstable. That was never my experience. I never encountered an issue with Plex that could be attributed to Mint, but nevertheless, Plex officially does not support running Plex on Linux Mint, while Emby does.1 point

OT: You need to do the iNotify fix also. The configured user limit (8192) on the number of inotify watches has been reached, or the operating system failed to allocate a required1 point

The code is finished. I am going to do some testing and then I will post it. It's a completely new plugin. It has a GUI similar to pseudoTV, but all the underlying JS code is different. Vic1 point

Hi, simply uninstall and delete the server data folder: Emby Server Data Folder1 point

Sorry, I had not seen this conversation since it is within a 3rd-party support thread. The above is not really correct. It is up to developers of the plug-ins to manage their authorization. We just provide a mechanism to do so. When you purchase a 3rd party plug-in the money and transaction are directly with that 3rd party. Emby is not involved in that at all except that it registers the plugin with whatever email address is on the PayPal account that is used. If this email address is not the same as your Premiere key, then the registration will not work because there is no way to know the two should be related. Anyone who has purchased this plug-in with the wrong email address, please PM me and provide the email address that is attached to their Premiere key and I will take care of it. Thanks.1 point

I don't know if this happens, but what if a user wants things to be the other way around and they want embedded files that are set as Active to be prioritized and they don't want any old extra external file to be considered more important, just because it is there. If Emby considered the external file to be priority even if it is not even labeled as default, aren't you taking away the rights of the user who wants the Active subtitle inside the media to be the priority. How can a software developer give priority to one that is not even labeled as default. What kind of programs would you end up with? I think you would have software that only works for a few users and everyone else would just leave because the rules are crazy.1 point

I think multi-version is now being detected as I have an icon in the bottom left of the cover art select that gave me the clue it should be there. Also I did not realize Kodi has a new behavior where you have to "hold" select to bring up the context menu that shows "Choose version". Apologies for the misunderstanding of the feature. I thought I did but I tried to install from Zip the two repositories again. After I see the newer versions are listed. Maybe a visual bug from the skin.1 point

Yeah i just couldn't with my shitty programming skills find what i needed so i concluded that what i was looking for was closed off. Still very, very much at the learning stage and thought this might be good for learning. I sort of agree and then again not. Others handle something like that fine. "Project is as is and meant for self tinkerers, no support will be given." and then maybe a subforum where people can talk about it, maybe just a link to a reddit page so you can forget about it. Lot of people love to tinker with stuff. Fair enough though, it is your reputation and product on the line so i can understand. It was worth a try, you get nothing without asking!1 point

Adding - div.cardOverlayContainer {background:transparent;} does fix it thank you. Will have to see if it affects other stuff.1 point

All APIs are documented in detail: https://dev.emby.media/reference/pluginapi/Emby.Features.FeatureInfo.html https://dev.emby.media/reference/RestAPI.html Our aim is to provide quality software that is working reliably. Think you would be on our side: would you really do something which would cause the forums (Server + All Apps) becoming flooded with reports about all the ways and cases in which it doesn't work? A "use at your own risk" label would be quickly forgotten and what remains is the story: Emby is not properly working, has playback issues, works unreliable, etc etc. There's no value for anybody in providing something that doesn't work properly.1 point

Others will have to chime in but from above there is no transcoding as you are repacking the media in a different container usually correcting the ts issue. I would assume you can drop them all in mkvtoolnix and remux them into mkv also. @rbjtechmay have some ideas.1 point

Ok second line starts with 100, next line starts with 172 & second number is 16 so that means they are blocking me?1 point

it uses the refresh metadata function with the EnableRemoteContentProbe option set to true https://github.com/faush01/StrmExtract/blob/da1ce795093d27a00efa26ec1e37ec7312cc3fbd/StrmExtract/ExtractTask.cs#L911 point

not in the plugin at the moment, but yes there are ways that can be added. I can do both ideas you presented. I can add on newly added items if i can read the value from the filename (this would add a metadata reader to the library config: This would be like the nfo reader, but simply read the filename (or whatever else you wanted to be scanned) and update the provider key, and i can add a scheduled task to pick up items that never had it in the fiilename, but it was added to the emby db after the core added metadata. I am too busy at the moment to do this but yes i can, and probably will now that it is wanted.. just bare with me This plugin as you may have read in this thread was never intended to be public but was made so because someone asked me about it in the developer api section when i was making it, so its not "polished" because for my system i dont care as long as it works..... It does appear though that slowly more and more people are using it when they realise what it actually does.1 point

Source ? I've never read that - infact, the opposite - DV is high end and has specifications beyond what even todays TV's can produce (max nits etc).1 point

Glad it got resolved, but every time I looked at this thread I kept thinking of one thing 0:451 point

I just asked the AI to make it for fun not expecting anything useful but.. This actually looks promising. H265 transcoding with h264 fallback for devices that don't support H265. Intel Quicksync, Vaapi and nvenc support. Working user quality settings. Been working a little with it as well, estimated work time 3 weeks. When asked it says most already runs and it's fine tuning now, first test build should be ready in 7-8 days. While i don't expect much it will still be interesting to see what it will attempt to do.1 point

@chefThis is awesome! What would it take to get this to run as a scheduled task to automate removing devices over the age threshold? Also, is 1.0.0.1 listed earlier the latest version?1 point

Just stumbled on this and wanted to give it a go, but it looks like the build pipeline is failing I couldn't get this running either, the container would just crash - i've attached log files xtream2emby.html1 point

Did a proof-of-concept using my VirutalEpisodes hack and the native Emby Android app. This is using Tasker to monitor what is being played to launch Netflix (in this case). Details on the hack: https://github.com/xnappo/VirtualEpisodes Ideally would like to remove Tasker, Sonarr and scripts from the equation and do this directly with the Emby apps and using a server plugin to add/monitor the 'virtual' episodes.1 point

+1 I am using authentik too and for emby this feature would be a pleasure.1 point
-
+1 Ia also use authentik for my homelab and it would awesome if we could easy implement SSO for emby!1 point
-
+1 for this. I am using authentik as a SSO proxy, it is ok but I lost all the premium apps functions as they are not able to validade in the SSO. OAuth implementation inside emby should have this probrem solved Please give us Oauth1 point

@ebrI really like to see support for my very old request to support audio language. I am willing to pay if I try very hard to pay $10 for this request, thanks.1 point
