Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

Legacy hardware or even OS is fine for continuing to run legacy software; but at some point it will no longer cope with updates - you seem to have reached this point... Paul.1 point

Ups! I must have missed that in settings; kinda assumed each see only own devices. Will check, thanks!1 point

Ok... I have some good news (For me at least). I've rebooted the problematic iPhone, and it started playing again. Furthermore, I've issued a download request, and I saw the folder being created. I was also tailing the logs, and I saw the "job XXX transferred" (number matched the folder created in the sync folder). The download file is on my iPhone, and it plays well. Sync folder is empty (has subfolders but they don't have any files now). I'd guess that: 1) I had multiple download jobs failing for some reason and Emby was trying to fulfil those 1a) Perhaps the failures were due to me leaving the LAN before they finished generating... and it was trying to fulfil them all and fill the disk. 1b) Perhaps, the sync folder didn't had proper permissions too... (I re-created, and chown it, but I'm not sure how it was before). 2) The iPhone stuff was just a fluke, and restarting the phone (hard reset) fixed it. Thank you very much for your help Luke, I'll mark your answer as the solution.1 point

As an alternative you could use the Rating Poster Database.1 point

Hi. Why? Doesn't that make it pretty hard to manage when just looking at the file system?1 point

Would it be possible if there is enough support to add the ability to include folder names in searches? I have a Home photos and videos library of 100k items spread over 1000 folders and 20+ years. Folders are sorted into years and given descriptive folder names but sometimes it is hard to remember where/when some photos were taken and would be great to just quickly search for that folder? Even if this feature was just for home photos and videos, not really needed for movies/music etc? Thanks!1 point

Ola a todos, consegui resolver desta forma: Último Recurso: Desativar IPv6 Se nada acima funcionar, tente desativar o IPv6 (caso seu servidor esteja tentando usar ele e falhando). Edite o arquivo de configuração: sudo nano /etc/sysctl.conf 2️Adicione essas linhas no final: net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1 net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1 net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 = 1 Salve (CTRL+X, Y, Enter) e aplique: sudo sysctl -p Agora, teste novamente: wget https://www.mb3admin.com/admin/service/EmbyPackages.json perceba que o catalogo vai funcionar novamente!1 point

This issue is resolved in the upcoming 4.9 server release. Thanks.1 point

Carlos, The page is not being served this data. It would require an update in the javascript. I would guess the reason no extra info is served, would be to allow the page to load quicker. Calling the database to retrieve this extra information, every time a home page is initially requested is a lot of extra server load. For remote users and with slower servers or multiple users hitting the page, could easily cause the home page to falter and not load quickly. Page load time on a home page is critical to keep users happy. A delay even of 1 second really hurts the quality of the software package. Typically, an online measurement is if a home page does not load within 4 seconds, 98% of users will leave and never come back. So, adding a lot of information on the main home page can kill a program's popularity very quickly.1 point

Hi. How is this any different than just connecting remotely with an app?1 point

The irony in trying to find the path in the "Settings >> About" assumes you have a working app interface to get to the "Settings >> About" page... The point is we cannot get to that to find the path to the logs....1 point

If there were a filter to choose audio formats, that could work. I do not see such a filter in Version 4.9.0.37 beta. Or, you could create a separate library with selected "For the road" content and only include media that works. There is software to remove alternate audio from media that happens to have multiple audio versions and encoding software that can convert any 5.1 to stereo and create a new media version. ffmpeg full install can do all this from a command line, which can be useful if you want to do something like 100+ media files at once. mkvtools is very quick and works for .mkv media. These re-encoding options are all able to do just audio and leave the video alone, if needed. Often, this can be done fairly quickly compared to a complete high quality video & audio encoding. Yes, having a duplicate library just for the car, means extra storage space, but why not just take a selection of 50 media files and change them out from time to time or for a roadtrip. Most groups can find something to agree on from 50 media files. Just an idea.1 point

I am running android app on Nvidia shield Pro. I've noticed that app automaticaly resize subtitles acording to aspect ratio. For example subtitles in 16:9 video are smaller and in 2.35:1 subtitles are bigger. It's pretty annoying. Can you fix this, please?1 point

Solution: 1- in UNRAID, install the Nvidia plugin called "Nvidia driver" 2- stop then restart the "docker service" located in the "settings tab" 3- On "docker tab", click the blue link "EmbyServer", settings appear 4- right on top, go to "AVANCED VIEW" 5- Found the line called "Extra Parameters", and enter --runtime=nvidia 6- Click APPLY, DONE 7- Open Emby, go to settings 8- At "Transcoding Tab", choose "Advanced" in the drop-down 9- select coding and decoding you want, then "SAVE" YOU DONE ! Here is a quick video of 4k H265 120Mbps video playback on 1GB ethernet LAN.1 point

Hi, I think it could be useful a Plugin to connect to one or more remote Embys and import the media. Not necessarily download the files but allow users to view and play the remote media. Only the media that are physically available on the remote Emby should be exported, so as to allow the reciprocity of the plugins on both servers, i.e. both Emby instances can have the plugin installed and each can be the remote of the other.0 points

I'm not sure, but in theory it doesn't break the law. I can lend my copies to a friend, even digital ones. I'm not personally interested in the load balancing part, I just want to be able to lend my movies to a friend and a relative, I don't expect a lot of traffic.0 points

No, I'm asking for something similar but not the same thing. When the servers are not owned by the same person, I would like it to be possible to federate them. Everyone will then be able to access their own server, seeing what others are sharing. My request is more versatile because it works regardless of whether the servers are owned by the same person or not. Furthermore, it is possible to extend my request by adding traffic balancing algorithms to choose the server that will perform the transcoding and the one that will route the stream.0 points

The current system for assessing what feature requests are most popular is flawed. If the only option users have is to upvote an idea, then the masses of other users who are not interested in the idea have no way to have their voice heard. In a way similar to Reddit, I would recommend allowing users to BOTH upvote AND down vote ideas so the developers have a clearer picture of interest.0 points
