It's currently trailers, followed by custom intros, followed by media info intros (tags). It is currently hardcoded like this although I agree that adding some configuration to control this would be nice.2 points

I often listen to the radio and it would save clicks by being able to put your own shortcut on the main page linking directly to a particular channel rather than having to navigate down to all the channels. This applied to live tv to as you may always watch the same channel.2 points

BugRemover BugRemover is a command line utility to remove bugs (logos) from video files. It is written in C# with executables available for multiple operating systems. It uses ffmpeg to make the magic happen. Installation Decompress the proper file for your operating system into a folder. The ffmpeg executable must be available on your system. It can be downloaded from ffmpeg.org Parameters (Case Insensitive) -ffmpegpPath=Path to the ffmpeg executable. Just the folder, the exe is assumed to be ffmpeg.exe or ffmpeg. -inFile=The video file to have its bug removed. -startX=x Defines the upper left x-axis position of the square with the bug. -startY=y Defines the upper left y-axis position of the square with the bug. -width=w Defines the width of the square containing the bug. -height=h Defines the height of the square containing the bug. Optional: -extract=frameCount Extracts frameCount frames to assist in figuring out the bug position parameters. If this is specified, only the extraction happens. Note BugRemover is CharityWare. If you like this program and find it of value, please consider making a donation to a local charity that benefits children such as Special Olympics. Source Release2 points

Would be nice if there was a way we could specify the format for a season or folder. Something at the Series and or Season level where I could enter "{SeasonNum}.{EpisodeNum} - {Title}" (or similar) then Emby could convert that into the Regex it needs to get the fields and do proper processing. Then people could use what ever format they want and have each season have individual formats if needed. Added bonus, you wouldn't have to ever add more name formats for people1 point

I just want to bring up attention to AV1 as additional target codec for transcoding and comverting video. It's supposed to further reduce bitrates, which can be great in situations with limited bandwidth. Hardware players start to have support, with the Max version of Amazon's 4k FireTV sticks being a very popular and cheap option. Hardware Encoding is coming for sure too. So if/when HEVC gets added for transcoding, AV1 should be kept in mind too. And for conversations, things might actually be already there, since ffmpeg does have a encoder integrated.1 point

Hi, I would like to have an option to choose H265 instead of H264 in the Transcode option. It will be smaller for all bad bandwidth (2~5Mbit ADSL), but will have a great quality. Mobile phone can benefit of it greatly too with the 4G and the limitation of download.1 point

I'm quite new to the Emby world but I have been enjoying high quality movies on my Apple TV and MacBook. Disclaimer, I'm using someone else's Emby server so I have no control of the server side. I would really want to access the Emby library via my Tesla Browser while waiting in the parking lot. Currently, I followed advices such as using Testube or ABetterTheatre to logon to the Emby web app, and starts a movie. For 4K movies, I'm not able to open at all, as it complains that there is no available streams. For 1080p, most of the videos can be played, but there is no audio no matter what the format is. Is it something to do with the configuration on the server side only? For those of you who managed to get it working, could you please share some advice?1 point

User 1 create private music playlist in emby. User 2 connect to Soundiiz.com Result: Soundiiz shows all users playlists. Shows Movie and TV show playlists. Expected: Only show music playlist Follow Emby 'Manage collaboration' logic = Private (Access = None) Note: Editing Rules are being followed when Access = None/View. (Editing allowed when access = Edit)1 point

It would be great to have one of the options under the suggestions area for movies and TV shows be a heading that is something like "Jump Back In" for TV shows and "Rewatch Old Favorites" for movies. I'm looking for ways to beef up the suggestions area. Recommending old things that have already been watched for people to rewatch might not be a bad idea.1 point

You're referring to the display name shown on the dashboard and login screen? That's just a cosmetic change; it won't effect your users.1 point
-
Hi @CBers, yes I have seen the post, and followed the trick to use Testube and ABetterTheater but none of them solved the audio issue. I'll find a time to get some more information from the screen today and report back.1 point

@mrdino87Just to make sure you know what you need to delete to start afresh and get rid of the beta database and associated data: 1. In Windows Task Manager - check that EmbyServer process is not running. If you see it, right click on it and select End Task 2. When you no longer see EmbyServer in Windows Task Manager, delete this folder C:\Users\walle\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server 3. Download Emby Server 4.8.10.0 from here 4. Open the downloaded Setup exe file After the install the browser should open by default to go through server setup1 point

Hi, there are some slow database queries here, although no obvious reason as to why. There was a 15 minute library scan in the middle of this log. You will probably see better server performance if you can move that to off hours for now until we know the cause.1 point

So there's some drama over LGPL license violations that occurred over the course of last year with rockchip blatantly copying ffmpeg code. Looks like Rockchip's devs are working on resolving it, and if it gets resolved, perhaps one day we'll hopefully see rockchip support in ffmpeg upstream down in the future. @Kwick"bumping" your thread is not going to speed up the support process. Please be patient and allow the team time to look into your issue. Thanks.1 point

@Lukenow that Play Store updates are flowing again, I did some tests on this while on cellular and every single time it chose 1 mbps (which is far too conservative imho) I imagine this is going to cause more headaches for admins with more reports of unnecessary transcoding, etc. Are there any plans to have the "defaults" configurable server side rather than have to adjust every remote device to anything other than "Auto" ?1 point

OK yes so there are still issues here with mpeg dash that needs to be looked at.1 point

was wondering how difficult it would be to add the ability for search to check for key words in movie / show descriptions. example of what i am talking about. currently if you search for say ... Vampire the only thing that shows up would be items with the word vampire in the title. I.E. "The Vampire Diaries" But if i want to do a search for anything that mentions vampires i can't (that i am aware of). I would like it, when i type "Vampire" to bring up everything with the word in the title or in its description. I.E. "Blade" "Dusk til dawn" and "Lost Boys" would also show up. then there could be a filter added that you could click on to limit it to "exact Match" if you chose, to so it only shows titles that contain the word in its title. I hope what i'm trying to say makes sense1 point

Thank you!! I added these 2 ENV variables as well and now Tone Mapping via Intel OpenCL seems to work! Just as a friendly note, you shouldn't edit the supplied emby-server.service file, because that can get overwritten on updates. What you wanna do is either create a copy with the edits here: /etc/systemd/system/emby-server.service OR (what I did) create a drop in dir for the emby service: mkdir /etc/systemd/system/emby-server.service.d nano /etc/systemd/system/emby-server.service.d/tonemap.conf [Service] Environment="NEOReadDebugKeys=1" Environment="OverrideGpuAddressSpace=48" After that: systemctl daemon-reload systemctl restart emby-server If you do systemctl status emby-server after that it will list the tonmap.conf file as a dropin it used to ammend your service definition.1 point

I was actually able to get it to work on A310 / Kernel 6.8 / Lxc inside Proxmox, by adding these parametres into embyservice service file (location can be taken from "systemctl status embyservice", i'm not at home now so can't check it and don't remember it precisely.) Environment="NEOReadDebugKeys=1" Environment="OverrideGpuAddressSpace=48" Added those two under [Service] in the service file, then "systemctl daemon-reload", then reboot for good measure. Now i have all quicksync options enabled in the transcoding tab, for both decoding and encoding, as well as OpenCL tone mapping for both QSV and VAAPI in the tone mapping tab.1 point

Hey, that is very interesting! It's super annoying that collections cant be on Android home screen! That plugin seems to be creating a custom home screen section and then re-ordering the sections. I have to look into if re-ordering sections is something that the Rest API can do. I'm working on a plugin version, having a move to top function there would be great.1 point

Hi, this behaviour is still present in the new app, is fixing this planned? BTW, the new app, a few bugs aside, is a vast improvement IMO.1 point

We don't like that either! Please note that you DO NOT NEED a Microsoft Account! I've added this to the FAQ Post with a link to a more detailed explanation: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/134677-new-windows-xbox-app-faq/1 point

Dear Emby Team, First and foremost, thank you for building and continuously enhancing this platform. We are naturally drawn to the incredible features and stability it provides compared to other applications. Back in 2019, there was mention of a potential book-reading feature being considered for Emby in the not-too-distant future. Many in the community have been eagerly anticipating this addition. We humbly request the team to revisit this feature, as it would greatly complement the platform's capabilities. We understand that development takes time and resources, but this is just a gentle reminder that we, as a community, are still waiting for this to happen. Thank you!1 point

Much faster. Don't experience the lag at all. Through WiiM mini. The emby server is listed on opening, but accessing the music library is delayed. Thanks.1 point

It would be great if advanced search was implemented. It would be very convenient for us as well. We are very much waiting. Thank you in advance.1 point

Why is proof a harsh word ? I think all everybody wants is a 100% confirmation that the Mi 4K stick direct plays HD Audio - and the only way to see that without involving tricks played by 'Plex/Emby/Kodi' is to show the 'Audio Input' video overlay from the AVR. We need to see it say - True-HD' with Atmos DTS-HD MA 7.1 DTS-HD X If it says that - then we have the 'proof' - and it now matches the Shield in terms of HD Audio passthrough capability - and we can close this topic.1 point

Yup... roku has photo streams that will play a set of photos that you have uploaded to their server. It would be very cool to choose emby as screen saver and set up the picture library and local images such as all back drops, disc images, fan art, etc. all user selectable. btw, Emby is awesome. Everyone should be buying a subscription. I bought a lifetime and encourage everyone to do the same1 point

HI, yes something like this is something I've been wanting to add. It's possible for future updates. Thanks.1 point
-
From my thinking, it seems like this would be a very easy feature to add. Just a simple watch list icon. Maybe an outline of a pair of glasses that is gray when not selected and blue when selected. Or a star or something. Some lthing that would go next to the favorites logo and would work in a very similar fashion but would create a separate list. I used to try to use the playlist for this but my playlist would randomly delete and disappear. So if a watchlist feature could be added and a tab for the movies and TV shows you have added to your watchlist could be added next to the favorites tab, that would be awesome. Right now I use my favorites section as a combination of my favorites and my watchlist. But it would be really great to have that separate. Maybe one additional feature that the watchlist could have is that after a movie has been played, it automatically is removed from that section. Does anyone else have an interest in this feature?1 point

FROM THE OFFICIAL REDDIT THREAD Thought I'd share. This is a great resource for Emby and hopefully in the future it can be implemented automatically.1 point

Have you seen this? I have a Model Y but I've never reliably had Emby working in the car.0 points
