Do you have this scheduled task enabled? If it is then you can churn through API hits. Some things changed recently and while your download limits are based on VIP status the API hits (I believe) are managed at the Emby Corp level.

Sorry. After a bit of finagling I managed to make things right. I have the metadata folder & backup folder in a dedicated shared folder on my NAS, so the data is easily accessible. All my content now has appropriate metadata & images, and they seem to be remaining stable. Thank you.

I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

Feature Request: Have User Groups and all settings applied at the Group Level That way you can just assign users to the appropriate Group and all settings will be inheritated.

Since even asking QNap support they don't give info/help to be able to use the utility, after several attempts I succeeded and I explain how: - using WinSCP or Filezilla etc. create a "Nas" folder (or name of your choice) in share/CACHEDEV1_DATA - create a .sh file in the folder (which I called cache) using the nano or Vi editor with the following content and save it #!/bin/sh /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Nas/cache.sh using Putty in SSH mode go to the folder and type the following command to make the file executable chmod +x cache.sh then with the editor nano open crontab nano /etc/config/crontab and insert the following lines at the bottom of the list 0 19 * * * /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Nas/cache.sh 0 21 * * * /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Nas/cache.sh 0 23 * * * /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Nas/cache.sh which means that QBoost (or clear cache utility) starts every day at 19, 21 and 23. save the crontab file modified in this way and then give the following command to reload the crontab file: crontab /etc/config/crontab && /etc/init.d/crond.sh restart This utility and routine is very important using an Emby server on my QNAP, which uses a lot of memory when using. So I removed my credentials from the OpenSubtitles plugin and waited 6 hours and how added them again, now it works. Thanks for your help!

Thanks the Neminem's help, I solved the iusse...I renamed the file adding at the end DVD1 (for the firtse file) and DVD2 for the second e now all work fine Thnaks again an ciao from Italy (sorry for bad english)

Emby Corp entered into an agreement with OpenSubtitles because their new .com API changed to a paid consumer model. I don't know if the devs have posted what differences might now exist between non-VIP and VIP users and if all API hits or only non-VIP user hits might get throttled or if none are. The download counter and history on OpenSubtitles are hit or miss for me. Not all of my downloads show up. I've disabled the scheduled task for subtitles and let the server search when new media is added and manual searches since the auto is often incorrect. This keeps my sub search hits and downloads to a reasonable count.

Ultimately the contents of these files should be moved to the server database to prevent this sort of thing from happening, much like we did for the library options xml files. @Happy2Play

CM, My users all with valid policy.xml files. No empty files even with old less used profiles. I wonder how you got an empty policy.xml file. Did you restore a back up? Maybe just redoing that user can help. Just an idea.

You could try editing that user and just clicking save, and seeing if that generates a valid xml file. Granted, you can't easily determine what user that is. If the files are empty you may as well just delete them and restart the server.

Jep, 1 reason Bazarr gave us the option to set this. With 10.000 of subs to go, and only searching for the first 1000 a day. Rinse & Repeat same 1000, get the picture.

I'm using Sony WH-1000XM4. The issue seems unrelated to the headset though as I'm able to reproduce Emby crashing with bluetooth disabled on my phone too. The bluetooth crash seems like a bonus, like confetti at a party.

YES, YES and a tag/parental control is the way currently to do this. If you can hold off a bit, you'll be able to use this: Hi, You will be able to have all channels loaded from an m3u tuner tagged automatically. Just use a different tag for each m3u file, and the hard part will be done for you. You can then blacklist one tag or the other for each user. That will help you split the tuners among your users much easier. I With the blacklist of one tag, there won't be any double channels to see. Carlo

I followed your steps, but I encountered an issue: the "Refresh metadata" option in the collections library is not available in the three dots menu, as you mentioned. This was precisely the point that confused me from the beginning, as I couldn’t find that option like in normal libraries. However, thanks to your guidance, I managed to find the solution. After deleting the cover, I went to Settings > Libraries and used the "Scan all libraries" button. This regenerated the cover for the collections library. It would be fantastic if the Emby team could add a more direct option in the libraries to quickly generate these covers. Thank you again for your help!

I DID make it a collection. When I made it a Playlist, the episodes listed individually & scattered alphabetically. I was just pointing out that when I made it a Collection, the TV Show appeared as a single entity. This was not submitted as a problem. I was just offering (what I thought would be) a useful observation.

btw @Amything- there is a little bug/issue in the system adding items if you name your collection with a '+' in it - ie Apple TV+, Paramount+ etc If you use 'Plus' then no issues

OK what currently happens is Emby Server imports the channel image just one time. The reason for this is to allow you to customize the image within Emby Server and not lose that. So there's room for improvement there. Thanks.

I just wanted to share the option I went with in hopes that it might help someone else who is providing remote access to their Emby servers and wish to automatically update their WAN IP. To set up dynamic DNS updating for your Cloudflare-hosted domain using DNS-O-Matic and your ASUS router, you'll need to follow these steps: Configure DNS-O-Matic: Log in to DNS-O-Matic (www.dnsomatic.com) Add a new service and select "Cloudflare" Enter your Cloudflare account email as the username Use your Cloudflare Global API Key as the API Token/password Set the hostname to your full domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) Set the domain to your root domain Set up Cloudflare DNS: Log in to your Cloudflare account Go to the DNS settings for your domain Create an A record with the name "@" (or your subdomain) pointing to your current WAN IP Ensure the proxy status is set to "DNS only" (gray cloud icon) Configure your ASUS GT-AXE 16000 Router: Access your router's admin interface Navigate to the WAN or DDNS settings Look for a DDNS or Dynamic DNS option Select "Custom" or "DNS-O-Matic" as the DDNS provider Enter the following details: Server: updates.dnsomatic.com Hostname: all.dnsomatic.com (or your specific hostname if you prefer) Username: Your DNS-O-Matic username Password: Your DNS-O-Matic password Save and apply the settings on your router With this setup, your ASUS router will automatically notify DNS-O-Matic when your WAN IP changes. I could share what I did to activate it but it’s only usable on Linux with vaapi (kind of working with quicksync too except for some rare cases where the colors are wrong)

I swear! Nothing. Only the 3 patches mention in my first post. Btw, I forgot: Win11/23H2 Emby V: 4.8.10.0 (since 10/01/24) No 3rd party FW, updates or anything. I got it it relatively quick. 1. Ping and every other connection to the machine worked flawlessly and fast. 2. Problem existed in whole network 192.x.x.x/24 3. Deactivating firewall worked 4. Checking network and firewall settings and setting firewall TCP and UDP for emby to public worked, regardless of network type "private". But there were already enough others complaining here, if it was a general problem...quite sure, I'm an outlier.

A Plugin that allows the user to use a custom db of actors that we can specify what library (i.e TV shows, Movies, Anime, etc) can have access to that is completely separate from the library, Like if I have a custom db for anime English voice actors I would want only my anime library to have access to it and not tv shows or movies to avoid having the duplicate actors pic/info because they have the same name. emby currently uses a shared db of actors for all libraries. i recently added the show Abbott Elementary to my emby server and one of the actresses for the show Janelle James info and pic of a completely different Janelle James despite there being a TVDB ID for here. idk if I overexplained this or if I got the point across.

Thanks for that. I had tried that, and to reaffirm tried it again now, unfortunately it does not work. Yet, setting PC to sleep normally via intervals, Emby keeps PC awake whilst streaming.

I found the fix to it, i was using the login for opensubtitles.org not .com (which I had 2 different accounts for)

Then, tried something like which I don't understand "Reload buying unlock" (the wording -> cause local translation is reading like that) and tada. Thank you! I haven't really noticed that one. It was waay on the bottom of the library. Any info about Premiere sale? Considering buying one. Will mention on another topic but currently Emby is really the best of 3 media players which I've tried them all. And the only one that can play 10 bit x264 files without transcoding. Plex can't do that and my main reason of moving away from it.

So I've been using Emby for a few weeks and want to revisit this with my thoughts. We use our media server like our own personal Netflix complete with binge watching, so credit markers are important to us, and dealing with credit markers in Emby genuinely sucks. To call them frustrating to work with doesn't even begin to do it justice. I get it that automatically detecting credits can be resource intensive for the host machine and doesn't have a 100% success rate for accurate detection regardless of method used, but this is one area where I would encourage the devs to consider that perfect is definitely the enemy of the good. When you have a large existing library it is absolutely painful to manually add these markers for each and every video. This is compounded by the fact that you have to do this for every video added to the server going forward as well, and it makes upkeep an enormous task. I would MUCH rather go back and manually edit videos that didn't automatically get it right the first time. The whole reason I started experimenting with EMBY in the first place is my dissatisfaction with the direction of PLEX, but it is honestly hard to get away from their software because of this. To be fair PLEX's system isn't perfect either, but once again in this instance perfect is the enemy of the good. Even with being imperfect their system is so much more advanced as to be almost laughable. Given that the intro/credit detection plugin is no longer available I implore the devs to reconsider their stance on this. I understand that the Emby team is relatively small and you have to be smart about where you allocate your resources but people have been asking for this for more than two years now across multiple threads.

Hi Guys, I recently moved from Kodi with MySQL for lack of proper multi user management and server side support, I have to say I'm impressed with Emby. Together with the Kodi Plugin it really takes the solution to a whole new level, count me in among the supporters! One feature I would like to see is the ability to recommend movies or shows to other users: I share my Library with close friends and family but it is a big library so they are always calling me to recommend them a movie to watch. It would be really cool if after watching a movie I can click a Recommend button and choose the users I think would like the movie, then it is displayed on their suggested movies at the top with the name of the user who recommended it... Sorry if there is something like this is already there, I am new to the interface and don't fully know it but could not find such feature... Thanks!
