Hello Emby Team! Would it be possible to add a signal strength icon to live tv channels? I know it's small but it would be cool to see signal strength when tuning live tv channels like Plex does. Otherwise emby has come a long way and I'm a happy customer!3 points

Can you please add "Lock this item to prevent future changes" check to the top of the metadata editor PLEASE! I just had to lock over a hundred movies one by one, because we still can't bulk edit metadata, and all the scrolling was so unnecessary. If there was an option to lock the movie at the top it would have saved me so much time. You can leave the one at the bottom. I get why its there, but please add it to the top too. Thanks Something like this would be great.2 points

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Thanks for reading. -Kyle1 point

So, usually this place is filled with the series/season thumb or an fanart pic. I guess that's okay, no spoilers and all, but it gets boring real quick and to me it would make much more sense to have the episode thumb/screenshot there (maybe with the series logo added somehow). The only way to get it that way, is by deleting thumbs and fanart completely, but the latter are used on different places too, so I want to keep them. How about an option to use ep-thumbs for "continue" and "next up"?1 point

Hi, I was thinking that it would be great if the original movie title would be shown on the main movie page. below the localized one.1 point

Fine by me. I don't mind checking a box to turn it on. I just want it to be available.1 point

I think that can be an option in Cinema Intros settings but I don't think it can be done by default, just based on feedback that's been received over the years.1 point

Hello, I recently added Live TV to my Emby experience and I've noticed the guide information for TELUS Optik, Rogers Cable, and Bell Cable are missing. The only guides available are for Satellite guide data which doesn't have some of the channels available in regular cable. Is there something I am missing? It seems there are only 3 different guides available for Canada (SHAW Direct, Bell ExpressVu, and TELUS Satellite). Thanks! ***Realized I should have added to "Emby Provided Guide Data". Sorry!*** EDIT ***I found postal codes that work after trial and error.***1 point

The problem isn't internet trailers vs. local trailers, it's that Emby's logic in picking local trailers is so repetitive and predictable that we end up turning off trailers altogether. We just want a "randomize trailers" checkbox somewhere.1 point

Try this: .mainDrawer.focuscontainer.padded-bottom-page.emby-scroller.scrollY.scrollY-mini.scrollFrameY.flex-direction-column.drawer-open > div > div:nth-child(3) > div > button:nth-last-child(2), .mainDrawer.focuscontainer.padded-bottom-page.emby-scroller.scrollY.scrollY-mini.scrollFrameY.flex-direction-column.drawer-open.drawer-docked > div > div:nth-last-child(2) { display:none; margin-bottom: -36px !important; }1 point

@LukeAny movement on this? Really hate bugging you about this. Not having trailers anymore sucks. I know not many people seem to care about this, but PLEASE! lol1 point

Just my opinion, but I have never been impressed by how "smart" TVs work. My recommendation is to get something external, even just a FireStick which has a small footprint will work better.1 point

Hi Radeon Just wanted to check how things were coming along with this plugin. Right now I have it disabled as it was downloading the large mka files. I know there was talk of converting those files in the background so that when we do download a theme song it is in smaller mp3 format. Just wanted to check if that is live or will system still download the ska files1 point

For Continue Watching, i strongly disliked episode thumbs, when that was the norm a few years back. Show thumbs are much more distinctive (main reason/my reason) than episode thumbs and avoid spoilers. still cant argue against an option...but I would hate to loose the current design...1 point

We wanted to share a quick review of Emby that was recently done by Sergio Ambrosio, a popular tech blogger in Spain. We are excited to see that people are taking note of the product that we pour a lot of effort in to here and look forward to more reviews in the future. Thank you Sergio for taking the time to review Emby! You can read the article HERE Later this week, we will be posting another blog focused on transcoding and some best practices to make sure your server is setup properly to utilize this great feature!1 point

As for which GPU, as your system is so old, I would suggest just a 1050Ti, as you don't have resizable BAR for an Arc A310 or Arc A380. You can get them in low profile if needed. Ideally it would be best to just upgrade your system to something modern. Even an N100 mini system will run circles around your current rig when it comes to hardware encoding (though your rig would still be faster for gaming). Here's an N100 mini pc that is currently on sale for $127 haha. WOW what at time to be alive ha. What you would do is just offload your server to this little machine and make it your encode box, leaving your main rig free to do whatever you want (unless that is where you have your files store also). As the processor is small and efficient, it's estimated running cost per year is maybe 2 bucks, for the whole machine.1 point

Hi, sorry it took so long, but I have followed the steps above, and yes it downloaded in the background1 point

You can select one or another in transcoding settings, but there’s no automatic scaling. I found the Intel Arc transcoding feature is broken when needing tone mapping too.1 point

You have to go back to page 11 to get the query and run the query and change dates and limit accordingly to get a list. That will give you user and media title. example Go to Playback tab and dates to the date of that playback and click on appropriate user you can delete that long session Or attempt to change the db values to try and normalize a little bit. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/85832-playback-reporting/&do=findComment&comment=13428601 point

If you don't know SQL I would recommend you don't use this approach. The latest version is always available in the Emby Plugin Catalogue and should update automatically. The latest source code for the plugin is always available in the GitHub repo for the plugin: https://github.com/faush01/playback_reporting1 point

the server can sometimes get into a weird state were it thinks a client is watching something when it is not, in this stuck state playback reporting will log that the user is watching something for many many hours or even days. the stuck sessions get removed on server restart but. you have two option to remove the long playback items in the plugin. if you know sql you can use the query tab or find the long items in a users summary page and there is a delete button to delete them individually.1 point

New version 2.1.0.0 in the plugin catalogue: Channels: Added option to selectively enable channels for specific users Added option to create copies of existing channels Added option to always play the very first unwatched episode of tv shows (it's within the sorting options: ... Ordered Episodes Playback) Added option to balance the number of episodes of each tv show in the guide data up to the specified percentage of the tv show with the most episodes Splitted Include/Exlude named Movies/TVShows into separate inputs Added option to select multiple bumpers folder (currently only main folders of home videos & photos libraries) Fixed some issues around Collection and Playlist channel conditions The plugin should not auto update, so a manual download from the catalog is required. As usual, you should clear your browser cache before opening the plugin config page. Because of the changes some of your channel settings will get lost!1 point

It's not about eliminating transcoding, if it was that simple i would just disable that entirely. I just want people to have the best possible experience and it pains me to know people are watching extremely bad bitrates on their 4K OLEDs. And with setting it high enough they could get crispy clear videos even with HDR a majority of the time. In the end it's about user friendliness and ease of use i guess. Having the settings "hidden" in where they are now is probably not the best idea either, only one of my friends have actually found them on their own and the others just thought everything worked automatically like fx. I think at this point Emby must have the only video player out there that doesn't support gestures. I don't understand, honestly, why the resistance to them. From what I understand it used to have them and then some users said they didn't like them, so instead of offering an option they removed them altogether? I don't get it. Pinch to zoom, swipe for ffw/rwd, volume/brightness up and down, double tap to advance, keep pressed to speed up... It's not like those things were invented yesterday.1 point
