Indeed it is. But I did not changed it manually, this means at some point from thtvdb the show was marked as ended and this metadata has not been updated since then. In any case, manually changing to "Continuing" makes it appear properly. So solved Thanks2 points

I got staff with this help of the log, it was a matter of permission and access to the certificate where only the root had access... I solved it here. Thank you very much!2 points

I know this topic old old, but hoping to help others... I had some network issues and had to replace my router/gateway (went from ubnt USG and uck-g2 to UCG-Max). In doing so, I ended up changing the ip address for my win 11 computer running emby server. I updated my port forwarding rule in my new router to match my new ip address and still could not connect (local and internet connections would not work). I have been pulling my hair out for hours, uninstalled and reinstalled emby, restarted everything multiple times, dug through router settings and windows firewall rules and pulled out more hair. I found this post, changed the "<IsPortAuthorized>" to "false" in the "system.xml" per recommendations above. After restarting emby server, I received the windows popup to allow access, and voila! Back in action. Thanks again for the help on this... I wish this trick had been linked somewhere in the emby connection help info here (unless I missed it?): https://emby.media/support/articles/Connectivity.html TLDR, changed my emby server ip and could not connect via local or remote apps. Firewall rules in my router were correct. Followed this post and fixed my windows client firewall issue. Thanks again for the active community!2 points

I've just started using the Universal Android app on my TV's as it now is very polished IMHO.2 points

Hello there ! I am a Plex user who discovers this wonderful app! - The number of current streams and computer resources are not displayed in the dashboard, do you think that could be added? For example, if we have 10 current streams, we could display: Now Playing (10) - For CPU and RAM resources, you don't necessarily need a graph but at least display the percentage used by the application? - The messages that we can send to users do not last long enough, it would be nice to be able to customize the duration or to increase it a little. Thank you and thank you again for your work !1 point

Public Beta is Open: Original message: Hello, as recently mentioned, there's a successor in the works to Emby Theater for Linux. The new video integration is quite challenging on Linux, because - opposed to Windows and Mac - there's a multitude of implementations for desktop UI, specifically window managers, compositors and configurations.across distros and individual user choices. That's why we are conducting a small prototype test for which we are looking for a few testers. It's not about something like an unfinished version with lots of bugs - it's a quite simplistic test application and once installed it takes just a few minutes to test - if at all. Requirements You must have an overlapping window manager, i.e. where one window can be on top of another window You must have a compositor running A GitHub account The goal is to cover a broad range of different setups, but no more than two testers for each kind of case. Same setup but with different rendering (software vs. hw) counts as a separate case. If you are wiling to help, please just respond to the post below and fill in your information. If you have multiple setups - even better! Just quote multiople times and fill in your specs. It's not yet decided whether the beta later will be public or not, but all those who are joining now will get access for sure. Thank you!1 point

hi, there I added some books .pdf and .epub in emby, but the only thing I can see is file names. how can I read these books in emby? I found some comments said plugin bookshelf is required, where can I download this plugin?1 point

This is a big reason I ONLY manage files via either a regular file explorer with a recycle bin, or via Sonarr/Radarr which both have options for a recycle bin instead of deleting files. This is a rather rough lesson to learn unfortunately. Emby really should consider something similar. Directly deleting potentially thousands of files, entirely unrelated to the selected media, due to a poor folder layout is rather stupid.1 point

Hi Emby Team. This is an Anime show I have in my Emby: As you can see the Missing/Upcoming Episodes shows the next episodes to be aired: The issue comes here, If I go to the library containing this show and I check for upcoming episodes: The show is not presented anywhere ... (must be on the October 23rd according to the upcoming previous screen) In fact does not appear for any date. I'm pretty sure is not the only one where this is happening, but is the only one I've seen allready. Can u please check it ? Thanks1 point

Once I broke the different library types into their own folders it worked. Appreciate the help getting this resolved.1 point

You're right, not sure why it wasn't working - I just updated my 4.6.7 to the latest, but not before taking a snapshot1 point

I agree, seems like an omission, multi-select should be available regardless of My Media or My Media (small). @Luke1 point

Awesome. I wish Synology would add this feature to all the NAS boxes that support NVMe drivves.1 point

You could have something like: /Volume1/Media /Volume1/Media/Movies /Volume1/Media/TV /Volume1/Media/Photos /Volume1/Media/Music You could then use each of the subfolder for the proper corresponding library. What you can't do is use /Volume1/Media in any library because it would have subfolders under it that are part of another library. Make sense? Carlo1 point

@ebr @LukeCould be a simple solution for what @HouseOfCardsis asking without risking the play state and with a minor modification: Let's take the "Christmas Movies" example: When Christmas is coming by some automation he adds a folder with Christmas movies, during the Christmas period those movies are presented as "new" and he and his family watch those. When Christmas period is finished by some automation he remove this folder from the library.. If I understand correctly the situation, the solution culd be: Create a Library just for this movies let's gonna call it "Christmas Movies". He can add the Christmas Movies to the library and configure his home Screen that this library will be the first shown (meanwhile this library is empty nothing will appear). With the automation, he adds the Christmas Movies to this library when Christmas approach. This will result on having on first line screen his Christmas movies. The trick comes here: On the library options menu, you can mark as played an entire library: But there's not an option to mark an entire library as "unplayed", I've checked and never appears this option. If the "unplayed" option is implemented, will be as simple as when those movies are re-added next christmas, just mark the entire library as "unplayed". Hope this helps.1 point

I had all custom css turned off. The screens are a little hard to find and only some of the selections have the problem. Sometimes you need to scroll the back of the page up, to see some of these bottom divs showing through. 2 examples: Admin side menu / DLNA / Profile Tab / Pick DirectTV HD-DVR profile / Scroll to bottom / Identification / Scroll down to HeaderHttpHeaders / Scroll up to see the button overlaps Admin side menu / DLNA / Profile Tab / Pick DirectTV HD-DVR profile / Scroll to bottom / Xml Settings / Xml Document Attributes + / Scroll up to see the button overlaps1 point

Pretty sure I know what the issues was but what is your Network Type Public or Private? Since it is Windows 11 and a new network connection I will guess Public as that is Windows new Default but previous firewall rule blocked Public and the new script cleared the old rules and added new one allowing it to work on that network type.1 point

Hi. A folder with a single video in it is interpreted as a movie. Sub-folders under it are just seen as some sort of "extras" for that movie. For your situation, when you discover you've put a video in the wrong place, use your file system to remove it instead of Emby and there should be no issue.1 point

Yeah of course and detection would be already well enough so you know something goes wrong and then can take proper steps to fix the problem before db is completely messed up Your suggestion for the "PRAGMA integrity_check" would be awesome (would need to be run against all db that Emby creates/uses)1 point
-
No that i know of. With mixed library, naming is even more important.1 point
-
I have and agree on that, hence my edit part refering to the required polishing. That's no show stopper for me though, as most of the times the OSD is just opened when I pause the movie/show.1 point

Thanks for the suggestion, Carlo. I experimented with pretty much every permutation of those settings and gave up after little success. Maybe I’ll revisit Emby further down the line as a side project when I have the time. Thanks again for your time and suggestions.1 point

For different content types, yes. The easiest thing to do would be /system stuff/movies1 point

Detection maybe, but not try to fix it. When attempting to fix a database you want exclusive access to the database with nothing else using it. @LukeIt probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a schedule task that runs "PRAGMA integrity_check" and if it doesn't receive an "OK" back to add this to the dashboard Alerts (maybe in red). A notification would be helpful as well.1 point

@TremasWe are all learning. Here new ideas are always welcome and tried, if for no other reason than to learn how to do them. I am learning more about what you want every day and hopefully we can devise a solution. @feerlessleadralso has some great ideas. Vic1 point

Personally I prefer the ATV app to the newer Universal Android app, but each to their own. There's a 100+ page discussion thread here, which discusses the differences between the 2 apps.1 point

Hi, it's an interesting idea although likely a resource intensive one. I think it is best to focus on why there are two in the first place. I think in most cases on a new installation of Emby Server, this should be pretty rare nowadays.1 point

In the end it would be displaying the exact same thing. Just how it is presented would be slightly different but I know I would get annoyed with it if it did not have a disable option.1 point

There are other platforms/forums to discuss what you like/don't like if that's your thing. I just don't think the Emby app is the place to do that.1 point

Can you imagine all that lovely data for Plex to scrape and sell to the highest bidder ...1 point

I think this move will convert a few over from the main competitor as this is how their Android TV app works as well. It will soften the barrier for entry to trying Emby on their existing hardware and will likely result in more premiere subscriptions they are settled in. On of the biggest advantages of Emby is that the Premiere features are available to all devices connected to the server versus forcing each users to have their own Premiere license or app unlock to access premium features. The standard device limit is a non-issue for personal use and there are options for people who have advanced needs. People are leaving Plex in in droves only to find Jellyfin's lack of polish and be disappointed. Emby is the logical choice for people who are ok with financially contributing to a polished project but don't want to be force fed sponsored content and advertisements. There is a misunderstanding on what Emby offers over the other services and that is a missed opportunity. There are people out there who just want things for free and they will gaslight themselves by flying the OSS flag, you aren't going to convince them to get Emby Premiere. There is a large group of people who want to leave Plex for multiple reasons, non of which are because it costs money. They continuous overlook Emby as a viable option because they don't understand what it is.1 point

posterizarr This PowerShell script automates the process of generating images for your Plex/Jellyfin/Emby media library. Leveraging information from your Plex/Jellyfin/Emby library, such as movie or show titles, season and episode data, it fetches relevant artwork from Fanart.tv, TMDB, TVDB, Plex and IMDB. The script is able to focus on artwork with specific languages to grab. By default, textless artwork xx is retrieved and will fall back to en if textless is not found. This is a setting a user can decide on, either to focus on textless or on text posters. It also offers both automatic and manual modes for generating posters. The manual mode can accommodate custom creations that cannot be bulk retrieved.1 point

I just realized I overlooked this. I assumed that my antivirus software, Malware Bytes premium, had Firewall rules and kept enabling/disabling EmbyServer.exe in the app. But after verifying online, the Firewall rules are to be established in Windows Control Panel which I did and you were right: a lot of rules related to Emby were checked for both Private and Public networks. I have unchecked "Public", relaunched my apps across devices, and Emby prompted me to enter my LAN login info. And now I'm logged in again, so happy! Thank you all so much for your help, it's solved now. Really appreciate the speed and professionalism of the help, I don't come often across this type of quality support online1 point
-
That suggest the Windows firewall is the issue and/or network type Private/Public but still would come back to firewall rules for Private/Public. First you could try shutting down Emby and go to "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config\system.xml" and change <IsPortAuthorized> to false and start Emby and see if you get different results. Otherwise you may have to clear existing rules already in the firewall.1 point

Hi, yes we are looking into improving it. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

While I don't support a 1-10 rating system, as was stated before "what's the difference between an 8 and 9?", I would love to see a simplified 1-5 scale. 5 - Love 4 - Good 3 - Meh 2 - Bad 1 - Hate Not sure how that would play into comparing My Ratings versus the Community (iMDb) or Critic (RottenTomato) ratings but it would nice to keep up on some movies. Although a counterpoint could be made for just deleting the 1 and 2 rated movies or "Hearting" all the 4 and 5 movies, I suppose. Anyways.... 2 cents. Keep up the awesome work!1 point
