Thanks a lot for the reply! Just wanted to say, about two years ago, I restarted EMBY, did a full reinstall, and after turning the plugin back on, it worked without a hitch. It’s been running smoothly for two years now, and honestly, it’s been great. I’d totally recommend it! It’s awesome how we can help each other out like this. Appreciate the support and attention from everyone. Thanks again!2 points

I use FileBot to get things named correctly before I ever add the file to my library.1 point

Ghee nothing that was posted was even legit as GitHub goes back to 3.2.21 will be platform dependent but back then it was limited, but you would only be able to use a browser as all clients require a minimum server version of 4.7.14.0. Only betas versions get deleted. But from a legal standpoint Emby could end of life all Premiere keys with every major release ie v3 to v4 to v5 if they wanted.1 point

@ebr You are a genius, I had proxy enabled in the device settings, I turned it off and the problem was solved thank you very much1 point

Happy it's working for you! Yes for 3D stuff there might be some performance loss (not much), transcoding performance should be the same. I don't know if that driver is the newest that work, just what my google-fu could find. Btw. Happy2Play was the one that identified the solution really.1 point

Thanks for the offer, I think we'll get our own one - unless they'd be hard to get at that time maybe.1 point

I don't know if it was the skin yet, going to investigate more, but it was Aeon Nox Silvo.1 point

Update - I was able to get live tv using the default skin, so will resolve on my own one way or another.1 point

A driver update for your GPU should fix it as the problem is part of a bad update Intel put in one of their drivers a while ago. If updating the driver don't work then downgrading it should. Some quick googling and the last known driver to work should be version 5122. @Happy2PlayI can't find any info on this but do you know if this is fixed in any newer Linux kernels?1 point

Yep appear to be the OpenCL issue Emby is currently having, 23:46:48.821 Stream mapping: 23:46:48.821 Stream #0:0 (hevc_qsv) -> vpp_qsv:default (graph 0) 23:46:48.821 vpp_qsv:default (graph 0) -> Stream #0:0 (h264_qsv) 23:46:48.821 Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (eac3 (native) -> mp3 (libmp3lame)) 23:46:48.821 Press [q] to stop, [?] for help 23:46:49.352 [supertonemap_opencl@f4 @ 000001a8a4800640] Failed to build program: -11. 23:46:49.352 [supertonemap_opencl@f4 @ 000001a8a4800640] Build log: 1:2:26: error: unknown OpenCL extension 'cl_intel_required_subgroup_size' - ignoring #pragma OPENCL EXTENSION cl_intel_required_subgroup_size : enable ^ 1:4:26: error: unknown OpenCL extension 'cl_khr_d3d11_sharing' - ignoring #pragma OPENCL EXTENSION cl_khr_d3d11_sharing : enable ^ 1:5:26: error: unknown OpenCL extension 'cl_intel_d3d11_nv12_media_sharing' - ignoring #pragma OPENCL EXTENSION cl_intel_d3d11_nv12_media_sharing : enable ^ 23:46:49.352 Error while filtering: I/O error 23:46:49.352 Failed to inject frame into filter network: I/O error 23:46:49.352 Error while processing the decoded data for stream #0:0 23:46:49.364 [libmp3lame @ 000001a8b2d42e00] 3 frames left in the queue on closing 23:46:49.369 Conversion failed! No, only Roku is so restrictive. Take the streaming search engine JustWatch as an example, it's available as an app in every major app store: Amazon, Android, Apple, LG, Samsung and Xbox. If the Roku store policies prevent any further feature development of Emby, Emby should just boycott Roku.1 point

Well that was an Ar*e! As part of Google/Youtube changes, they have made more of their content adaptive so they separate their audio from video streams. it used to be down to 1080, then 720 and now apparently 320 so I have to download the audio and video separately then merge them with ffmpeg after the fact. I've just pushed another release with this functionality. Give it a go. I'm off to france on sunday for 3 weeks so will be out of the loop1 point

Great insight into your roadmap and backlog process; I'd always wondered about that. Not sure if the Emby dev operations depends on user support/contributions, or it is a commercial operation where your org would acquire all hardware and as tax deductible expenditures. But if the former -- meaning that community support & donations make the Emby world go round -- I'd be open with parting with my early revision Radxa Rock 5B. If I could get it back at some time well down the line, well great. But if I never see it again I could live with that too.1 point

Never mind! Upgrading the old browser version to the latest fixed the issue! Thanks.1 point

In regards to it costing money, that's also why people are paying for premiere. To help contribute for things that would cost money/time to implement. They've previously stated they would be going with a simplistic like/dislike approach (which is fine) and never raised any concerns about price or difficulty in implementation for that themselves.1 point

I just want to be able to locate my 5s from the 80s or 4s from the 2000s. Something like that. At this time, I just have the watched movies get hidden.1 point

As suggested by @ebr I have split my original request to allow better monitoring of interest and progress. The original request is here https://emby.media/c...brary-overhaul/ If you are interested please like the post. It would be nice to including a face recognition that would allow us to sort our collection by people and give us the possibility to name them. As an example if I sear for "Mom" it would display all the pictures with my mother in the library ! This could also be done by scene (city, sea, mountain, etc.) or by place based on GPS coordinates this could automatically name the place and allow us to search or sort based on this item. I am not sure this is an easy one, maybe there are some existing piece of code that could help with this ?1 point

@them8os235 @kbx81 @chj915 @janmemby @lexm8 I've merged your posts into this conversation, to have it all in a single place. Please see my conclusion on the subject above. Thanks for providing all the information!1 point

Okay, let's conclude on this subject: First of all, thanks a lot for taking the effort in testing these things. From my side, these results are good enough to justify us looking into integrating hwa support for those chipsets in the short- to mid-term. For the time line, there's a pre-condition regarding ffmpeg: it can only be added after we've updated our ffmpeg to the latest state, which will still take a few months until we get there. From then on, it will be subject to internal priorization. Once it's been given a go, it will start by acquiring a device for development and testing, then we would integrate the changes from that repository into our own ffmpeg and extend our build systems for building ffmpeg binaries for that platform. We'll also need to be able to detect different RockChip platforms, to know which exact capabilities are available on each. Finally, we need to develop the transcoding logic and command line building at the side of Emby Server. After that, it can be delivered for testing in the beta channel.1 point

There is 2 things that are frustrating about the blog announcements. 1. They rarely happen. 2. You guys repeatedly reply as if you will get right on it and don't. I've brought it up numerous times over the years and get the exact same response above. The last blog for the app was Feb 2023. I love Emby but the lack of the release notes is annoying. Especially when there is precedent for removing features. I'm at the point now where I have to keep ignoring the spam to update the app on the TV because I don't know what it's going to do. I usually wait a week to make sure no obvious issues are brought up on the forums. The worst part is I come across as the prick complaining about it when it's something that should just happen by default. I know I'm wasting my time but I felt like a rant. And I understand the admin replying on here may have no control over it and are just placating the masses but if there is some higher up cracking the whip so hard you don't have time to post an update blog, let them know I hope they step on some lego.1 point

Hi, stay tuned. Smart playlists will be one of the focal points of the Emby Server 4.9 release, so this feature will ultimately be built in.1 point

Wow, this IS an old Feature Request!!! No wonder I hadn’t seen it before, but also surprised it hasn’t had very much response! For anyone with a reasonable size media library the 'publisher' becomes more important as the collection grows and it makes increasing sense to group selected media items accordingly, as a sometimes preferred view, e.g.: Movies (Studio) TV Shows (Network) Music (Record Label) Audiobooks (Publisher) If Emby can have a dedicated “Studios” Tag for Movies, then why doesn’t it have an equivalent “Labels” Tag for Music??? This would likely be the way to do it consistently with the current UI and a good suggestion. Digressing... I have many groupings of Indie Labels and Sub-Labels of special Album series that I find useful to browse and play. Therefore, I’ve tried four different ways to do this within the current Emby fields. All have their pros and cons: Tags Collections Genres Album Artists Tags Albums can be tagged with a Label within Emby now, but cannot be imported from embedded metadata, unless using RoonTrackTag at a track level. RoonAlbumTag is not currently supported. Collections This is a nice way to add Label artwork and some overview info, but the Collection sits ‘outside’ the Music library, so therefore perhaps less useful for cross-referencing. Genres A Label Genre can be directly imported from embedded Genre metadata and the Genre view within Emby splits into the sub-sections of Artist, Album and Song. No overview though. (Yes, a Label is not technically a Genre). Album Artists Adding the Label as a secondary Album Artist gives all the benefits of the detailed Album Artist pages and the relevant Albums can still be listed under the primary Album Artist. (Yes, a Label is not technically an Album Artist.) (There are more pros and cons for each method, but this post will become too long! There may also be more ways that I haven’t thought of yet?) I’ve set up Label Tags, Label Genres and Label Album Artists for approx. 20 Labels of interest so far. Using these three methods combined gives very good cross-referencing within a music library, from multiple viewpoints. Here’s one example: (Note: MusicBrainz happens to list Jam in the Van as an Artist, hence the Link.) Emby already has great flexibility with the above-mentioned fields. Adding a dedicated Record Label tag would make Emby even better!!! Ideally it would import from “Label” and “Publisher” embedded metadata fields and perhaps also be able to utilize any relevant MusicBrainz APIs? (I would likely keep my set-up above for selected special series, but a dedicated Label Tag would be great for ALL my albums) Thanks for considering!1 point

Hi @Luke, @ebr Eight years and counting, yikes...Let's review. Standard Tag, Available artwork online (back in the day when emby had it's own image library - I personally contributed hundreds) but hey the collage thing works as well. No real need for a separate tab. But I am sure as Luke said "Hi, yes this is certainly possible for future updates. Thanks for the feedback." Just do it like video1 point

While searching for a solution to this problem, I found a solution on the Jellyfin reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/xyuhdt/comment/ish6ewz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 With Emby you would do it like this; Go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system Edit EmbyServer.runtimeconfig.json Under configProperties, go to the end of the last existing line and type a comma "," press enter and paste "System.Net.DisableIPv6": true Should look something like this: { "runtimeOptions": { "tfm": "net6.0", "includedFrameworks": [ { "name": "Microsoft.NETCore.App", "version": "6.0.29" }, { "name": "Microsoft.AspNetCore.App", "version": "6.0.29" } ], "configProperties": { "System.Reflection.Metadata.MetadataUpdater.IsSupported": false, "System.Net.DisableIPv6": true } } } This works for me with Mullvad VPN split tunneling. Only problem I noticed is that this file resets after every update, I haven't had time to test but maybe this can be remedied by making the file read only? Hopefully the devs find this post and implements some sort of fix so this wont be necessary.1 point

they do this to force users to buy emby premiere. dont believe the lies., older simpler versions of emby had less issues but luke and co want to make more and more cash, and they got rid of older versions online to force that I suggest we join forces to file a class action suit sob the lose the money they steal and dont give no facepalm Jayce dk what good is emby when you cant scan any media? They deliberately got rid of earlier versions just so when this version doesnt work you cant fix it. but they didnt realize im a Fed so when i file a federal complaint against them, They'll have the full power of the US Government on them so luke and his cronies had better fix this0 points
