I imagine you're referring to your device settings here. You also need to select your preference in the Emby app, under your user settings, 'Playback' > scroll to the very bottom and choose from: - Auto - Locked to Landscape - Use device setting2 points

It looks like there's something wrong with your SMB cache and metadata directories, your logs are absolutely full of errors like this. Any reason you're running them on an SMB share instead of locally?2 points

As 11.X is quite stable and 95% based on 10.X sources, I would like release it asap as beta for Kodi 21 (no long term development as previous versions). -> No more major changes on my list, only test cases. Please report any issues you find.2 points

Are we able to add our own media profiles for the convert options? Currently I see mobile and TV, I would like to make an HD option, keeping the original audio track, but knocking 4k down to 1080. Maybe custom bitrate of "original quality" already does this? Guess I should try that first.2 points

I want to be able to easily explore films by key crew on films (usually director, writer, producers), however always have to scroll through the giant list of cast to find them at the end. They're often not even listed.1 point

Hello All, FYI. Playback seems to have been affected after the last Windows update on 8/29. KB5041582. While in the middle of watching a recording, the playback disappears and the desktop shows in it's place. I am running Windows 10 Pro, ver 22H2, build 19045.4780. After I uninstalled the update, things are working normally.1 point

As per this item - it would be really handy to be able to get to the top (and bottom ?) of any list or sorting method in one step.1 point

Apologies. We’ll get an announcement up for the latest release. Thanks.1 point

Accord to the server log posted it is. But would need to see new server log for port change. But there is a routing issue somewhere as in the ISP route if not changing from camera to Emby but that should come back to the portforwarding rule.1 point

Came across this via Google. This happens to me all the time, and I'd love to see a fix. In my setup, I've told Emby to only use local trailers. Many of my movies do have multiple trailers (all in a "trailers" folder within the specific movie's folder), and we'll frequently have either the same trailer play multiple times before a show or multiple trailers from the same movie. Just last night, we got *5* trailers for Weird Science in a row. I can gather logs if that's useful.1 point

Well, that solved everything! Not really sure what changed since yesterday or why it wasn't working, but I'm glad it works now. Thanks folks!1 point

Good day, As we did cleanup and remove the edit form our templates, within these tasks the "Member Title" table-column removed from the db. You can easily add back by edit your profile if you wanted back. What is member title? As I add it back just to show you, it the title under your user name, in my case it is: Super-Tester. LAN would not use it, but if using cf to access, I guess you would have an emby playback error……1 point

Yes, in fact you can connect remotely using any Emby client if you have correctly set up your Emby Server for remote connections. Please see: Remote Setup1 point

I may have found my trouble after looking over that server logs. I have my Cache file and backup is on an external NVME and some of those files inside were block by default after i did the new install and setup. i ran a 777 on that NVME SSD and now i can download and install any of those plugins. trouble was the Cache file. i will do a complete Restore again later to see if everything and all my plugins will restore like it was from the backup. Thanks..1 point

I got home and was able to test and it works, since I use linux needed to put the plugin also on /var/lib/emby/plugins.1 point

Will potentially need to see the server log for when you did the Restore.1 point

this is always going to cause issues. Are you able to resolve the problem with connectivity to this domain?1 point

Will do - I finally tired of using Embuary as my skin, and was having widget trouble with Embycon with Arctic Horizon 2 (updating widgets) so switched to this today on both my boxes. So far so good!1 point

I am somewhat at a loss as there really is only port firewall rules/network type and port forwarding for ports assigned with Emby. But there is really something off with almost every port showing open on this hardware as I do not think you are running something on every port.1 point

Still not working. Maybe we'll call it a day, because it's late both for me, and I think for you too. We can resume if you'd like tomorrow when I get back from work. Maybe I'll give you a remote, to check things. Thanks a ton for everything!1 point

They should actually be only TCP but it doesn't really matter, however you didn't specify the external port number. Try specifying that as well and see if that works. Your other rules should be like that too, you're telling the router "when you see an incoming connection on this port, send it to this host on this port". But without specifying the external port, I guess it's using all of them, which is really strange.1 point

I wonder if that was from users of devices that have the director link? Seems odd that everyone would want the director as the single hardest piece of information to find, as is the case on the shield.1 point

Would have to search but think there was a big discussion on this as no one wanted this order.1 point

Because there's no need, desire, or request to make the other headers clickable? You're the one that extrapolated to making them all clickable. That's not what was requested and seems like quite the strawman argument tbh. 'We' asked for one extra item, not 26, and again; most of the info below the 'cast & crew' is very infrequently visited. An additional line to scroll past would be very very inconsequential.1 point

No - as it's just passing it to ffmpeg - just by having a 'passthrough' option and it uses the -c:a copy as you say - but it's a priority call and it's probably pretty low on the list .. What you could do is just do one episode - grab the ffmpeg syntax from the log (that uses HW Accel) and then simply script it yourself ..1 point

Hi, the best place to look for the latest version is here: https://emby.media/download.html Here you can download Emby Server 4.8 for DSM 7.1. The reason why you don't see it in Package Center is that we only submitted DSM 7.2 packages to Synology. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.1 point

Thank you to everyone who took the time to ask the Emby team questions across all of the different platforms including here on the forums. There were a lot of great questions that were thrown our way and we've been excited to get the answers out to you. While some of the questions we were not able to answer, we did our best to give you the most accurate and clear answers possible. Now without further ado, here is the first series of questions and answers for you to look over! Please keep in mind more questions and answers will be coming in additional blog posts in the coming days, so not all questions are being answered today. Who owns Emby? Emby LLC owns the Emby product and is a private entity. The owners are undisclosed but note that the development team has full control over the direction of the product. We are not beholden to or under the influence of any investor or investment group. What is the history of Emby? Emby grew out of an open source project called MediaBrowser. Emby's origin in concept came out of that project but there is actually none of that code base still within it. Emby ended up being completely built from the ground up to be a server-based ecosystem as opposed to just a single app as the old MediaBrowser was. Around 2011 what is now the core development team for Emby were contributors to MediaBrowser. We saw the opportunity to build something more flexible than the WMC environment would allow and embarked on creating what we then called MB 3. The core developers spent over a year furiously writing code before anything was released to the public. It was then probably another two years of dedicated development before anything was truly usable as a system. In 2015 it was decided that we had moved so far away from what MB originally was that we needed a new name. A few of the devs got together and came up with "Emby". There are a few reasons behind that name but one of the main ones was that you needed something that wasn't already trademarked and domained. Emby fit that bill and has the benefit of sounding like "MB" when you say it. With the new name, we needed a new logo and we actually held a contest in the forum taking contributions from users and that finally landed us on the logo you see now. Since 2015 we have expanded the team and worked diligently to try and continue to craft the best truly personal media server system we can. We still have a long way to go but have also come a long way to where we are. What are the most popular Emby clients? We do not have exact data on this, due to sideloading and the such, but through the app store platforms we can gain general ideas. Android is the most popular amongst our userbase (both mobile and TV) with iOS in second place as the most downloaded app. What Emby clients do the development team use most for personal use? Our development team uses a wide variety of apps just as our user base does. We have people on the team using Android on mobile and TV, iOS, Apple TV, Roku and Xbox as well. As you can see our dev team really is as diverse as our user base when it comes to how we use the server. These were just a few of the questions about Emby as a product and who we are. In the next blog post we will be covering a few different things such as some of the future goals of Emby as well as release schedules and more!1 point

The Emby team wanted to say thank you again to everyone that took the time to ask various questions during our Q&A session. Here are a few more answers to questions that a lot of our users were asking about. 1) How is beta functionality success measured? Often times people are curious about the process we use internally here at Emby as we go through the Beta process. We do rely heavily on the forum feedback and beta-tester feedback relating to open issues. It is also important that we take into account the overall experience of the beta release compared to the current stable release, especially when we are making large changes as we did from 4.7 to 4.8. We may be perfectionists at heart but we also understand that we can't spend forever chasing perfection on the release so we do our best to balance stability and functionality throughout the whole process. To reiterate what we shared in previous blog posts, we also understand that a tighter release window with smaller goals allows us to hone in on the stability of the beta and get releases out to the public. It is something that we here at Emby are striving to get to. 2) What is the split of time between actual development and forum duties? We get this question asked often so we thought we would give a little run down on this. Some of our developers such as @Lukeand @ebrand others split their time between development and the forums as things demand. Other developers we have on staff actually do not even engage in the forums at all as to solely focus on the development of Emby moving forward. This allows us to offer quick and prompt customer service and also focus on development at the same time. We thought it was important to answer this one at this point in time, because we do want people to know that there is more to the development team than simply what you see here on the forums. 3) What would help the Emby team the most to improve the overall product from the community? This is another question that gets asked often and it's something that a lot of you are already doing. Keep up the feedback! The more the better! Everything that's posted on these forums is invaluable to us. From pain points, feature requests, how you're using the server, what apps you prefer and anything else that people share with us about how they utilize Emby. Everything that you share is heard and taken into account by the developers. That doesn't always mean that things can get implemented right away or worked on immediately, but the value of your feedback is paramount to our work. We know that it doesn't always seem like it to everyone, but we 100% listen to everything people say and value the thoughts and opinions of our user base! 4) What are some of the biggest obstacles that the Emby team faces throughout development? A lot of the challenges we face throughout development are based on resource allocation from the sheer amount of hardware and software options that Emby runs on. Keeping in mind that Emby runs on everything from an old windows laptop, to Linux distros, NAS, server systems and more, we have to make sure that the program works on all of these systems. Also development of the apps falls under that same category. With so many options for our users to choose from dedicated media players such as Roku, Amazon Fire Sticks, Nvidia Shields, Apple TV Smart TV's, mobile devices such as Android and iOS, there are a lot of different platforms that we need to develop on and do our best to make sure everything is up to the standard that our users expect from Emby. Die absolut sichere Trefferquote wäre, wenn Du Dein Verzeichnis so benennst - The Last of Us (2023) tt3581920 - Serientitel (Erscheinungsjahr) IMDB-Nummer.

Emby definitely needs booker reader functionality, cataloging books without the ability to read them within the app is just pointless. I would like to see this added when possible1 point

@@Luke is this planned for v4? This is really the last thing I'm waiting on for premiere because I recall lifetime only supports current and next full version number and didn't want it to happen to land in v6. That would be a spot of bad luck.1 point
