  1. Hi, the next update to the Emby Apple TV app will be a significant one that will catch up in a number of areas. Thanks for the feedback.

  2. Hey everyone, I recently encountered a small yet frustrating issue while managing my Emby library: finding duplicate movies. There were two types of duplicates I was dealing with: Two files of the same movie. Emby identifies one movie as another. To solve this, I decided to create a simple web project that works in any environment. All you need to do is provide your Emby server URL and API key—no need to dive into complex setups or configurations. The tool will scan your libraries for duplicates, and if any are found, it allows you to download a list showing the movie names and their file paths organized by the library. If you're facing a similar issue, you can try out the tool here: https://imahmud1.github.io/emby-dupe-finder/ For those interested in tinkering with the code or contributing, the project is open-source, and you can find the repo here: https://github.com/imahmud1/emby-dupe-finder I hope this helps anyone else dealing with duplicate movies in their Emby setup! Cheers!

  3. I frequently use the filter of Unwatched for movies and TV shows. And with music, you get recommendations based upon "similar" artist or songs. I would like a flag option to mark media as "Not Interested" or whatever verbiage would be better for the masses. This would have to be at the user level and not stored in a NFO file since I would like to filter out things my family likes, but only on my profile. As my libraries grow, I am having more content for my family. Since I am the only male in the house, my users have tastes that are distinctly different from mine. Whether it be real surgery shows, true murder, sappy romances, or telenovelas; these are things that I will never - and I do mean never - watch. The same thing goes for the music collection. I don't mind classic musical soundtracks, but my daughters collection of Broadway musicals is vast. And annoying. Now I could make them as Watched, but then that would go into the algorithm "Since you watched this, you might like this...", I would like to avoid doing that. I've poked around quite a bit, but I don't see anything like this currently nor did I see anything like this requested. If it has been requested but called something else, I would love to know about it so I can like that post. Thanks in advance.

  6. smb paths don't always play well with Emby. Dev will recommend mounting them locally.

  7. I have to compare it with another file that also has 25 frames. I pulled those episodes again at 23,976, but there were still stutters. Much less, but it was smoother. It may also be due to the series itself. That it wasn't ripped cleanly. But I have to find an episode first.

  8. I have been using Emby on TrueNAS SCALE for a year or so now. It's been fantastic and I bought a lifetime licence. TrueNAS SCALE is enterprise-grade and solid and Emby on that platform is really "just" the application packed up for Docker. The only issue at the moment is that the TrueNAS developers have removed the Truecharts catalogue from which Emby was installed, and AFAIK there is no replacement mechanism for installing Emby into TrueNAS SCALE - but correct me if I am wrong. There really no downsides to installing Emby into TrueNAS SCALE IMO

  9. Say EMBY has a movie called The Abyss (1989). Then there was another movie called The Abyss which was released in 2023. Unfortunately, EMBY stored both of those movies as The Abyss (1989). This is another type of dupe that goes unnoticed sometimes and needs to be fixed manually or by changing the naming part. But I'll still look into it.

  10. Looks like you need to add .skinHeader-withminidrawer here. @media (min-width: 50em) { .skinHeader-withfulldrawer, .skinHeader-withminidrawer { padding: 1em 5em 1em 10em !important; }

  18. https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/dolby-sues-roku-over-technology-streaming-software-2024-08-01/ Roku has cheated Dolby out of profits and inflated its own stock value over the stock of Dolby. Share holders are losing value. Dolby has filed a lawsuit and basically Roku has 21 days to reply (4 have gone already). So far Roku has not responded. Roku is on the losing end of this and I am sure Dolby has tried every avenue it could before resorting to the lawsuit. Maybe Roku will just cave and settle the case. Maybe Roku intends to fight this and has some legal loophole where it can justify hundreds of millions of infringements? The largest thing to read is the part below. The lawsuit said that Roku's streaming platform accounted for nearly $3 billion of its annual revenue in 2023. 3 billion is a big number for just one year. No mention of previous years losses. This may turn into an interesting battle of IP. Anyone know more on this?
