i just changed to private now, it was on public

Hoorah, I didn't read every post. You all probably have thought of this. A way around having to transcode is to pre encode to h.264 mp4 and AAC audio. On an older i7 computer using something like AVIDemux with 2 hour 1080P media, high quality settings around 2400 kbps, it takes perhaps 5 hours or 2 1/2 times the media length to get a good quality encode. I know that transcoding typically uses a higher bitrate but that is because the encoding needs to happen in real time. The rate has to be higher for that to work and the end playback looks good. But if you set the quality high and let the encode go longer, 1080P can look great at 2400. Most people never do this and they always think that .mp4 media will take up so much space. Once you have done the high quality encode, Emby Web and most other playbacks can be direct, I think, for all users. No one should need to encode and Emby will just play the media. Maybe this is not an option for live TV, but it works for other media in a library. My setup uses all content like this and I have transcode turned off. When you get content, sometimes there is an option to get an h.264 mp4 version. I know a lot of people don't like the extra size, but I think the colors and contrast are a little more natural and smooth compared to compressed H.265 .mkv which, to me, looks more like it has sharper edges that are not as natural. Since you are dealing with heavy price issues in Brazil, this might be a nice alternative. Hope that helps.

Would be nice if the server could serve a custom logo to the clients, i.e replace the emby logo with something relevent to the server. This would look really neat.

I updated Unraid, again today, to 6.12.11 I deleted all library.xxx files, restart Emby, NOW IT WORKS !

Ensure notifications are enabled for firewall changes Shutdown Emby and go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config\system.xml Change <IsPortAuthorized>true</IsPortAuthorized> to <IsPortAuthorized>false</IsPortAuthorized> and save Start Emby and should see firewall pop-ups.

This is very true. I have some (actually most) mp4 files that play wonderfully on all my Rokus but i have a few that take a VERY longtime to load and a couple that stuttered a lot until I reencoded them. There are a number of ways that files can be one thing and actually kind of be another. That is all mp4 files are equal but some are more equal than others. I am not an expert on file structure but I know that mp4 is a container not a CODEC and the actual content of the file can be very different between two or more mp4s. It is the internals that matter. That is why logs are needed and every log from the time of failures is needed. fmpeg and server logs are, probably, the most important but any other logs like hardware detection could have valuable info. @Blam84The Emby team once found an error for me because they looked at my hardware logs and actually diagnosed a hardware problem that was causing stops and starts on just two of my thousands of movie files. I replaced the offending hardware and, suddenly, the problem files played fine. Of course I have no idea exactly what was wrong but the fact that replacing one of my network switches fixed the two files that were misbehaving and had no other adverse actions says that the problem was really in the switch. (I had already replaced all the cables in my network.) My suggestion is to give the Emby developers what they ask for and examine the responses for anything else that might cause the same behavior. In the case of my switch problem Emby suggested cables and even dirty plugs or sockets or other sources of "noise" or interference in my network and I decided that the switch was also a possibility. When I changed the switch the problem went away but when I put it back the problem reappeared. Said switch has since been tossed out to recycle and my network is happier because of the retirement.

Hi, I would have the user try lowering the in-app quality setting and see if that helps.

I got a new Roku 4K+ and this issue is not happening anymore. I can tell you that on my old Roku, EVERY time I paused, the video would glitch and EVERY time I did playback correction, it would fix the issue.

Great that sounds good when I have it ready for prime time I will do that.

That's very odd, I had all these set to never, just checked and all my folders were set to refresh every 60 days, just changed them all back so hopefully that'll make a difference.

This may be by design. i.e. working as expected for extras and featurettes at the top level - But I would not expect it to affect the season level extras Exact same discussion in other topic as all the additional folders are just Alias for Season 0/Specials at Series or Season level and nfo written that way. So the only way to not get multi-version is episode level folders or the dash method added to file alongside episode. Better explanation of feature need or change in behavior at Season level.

I have not been able to reproduce this. Testing on beta 4.9.0.28 Would need consistent repro steps. Debug logs covering period when it happened for you may shed some light. Any extras applicable to a specific episode would need to be named as the episode but also have the suffix of "-featurette" or "-scene" etc eg Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging.mp4 Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging-featurette Bonus Scenes.mp4 or Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging.mp4 Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging-scene Bonus Scenes.mp4 Both of the the following variations resulted in the extra being detected as a second version of the episode \Peep Show \featurettes Peep Show - S03E01 - Bonus Scenes.mp4 \Season 03 Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging.mp4 \Peep Show \featurettes Bonus Scenes - S03E01.mp4 \Season 03 Peep Show - S03E01 - Mugging.mp4 I will discuss with the devs to confirm what should be working and what is deemed as correct behavior and working as designed.

Yes, using Plex on the same Android TV works. And my Plex server is also configured to only allow secure (TLS) connections. So unless the Plex Android TV client ships its own SSL/TLS client and ca-bundle this must be a issue in the Emby Android TV client. Also I can't imagine the TV vendor not shipping the ZeroSSL CA. Its firmware is from a couple of months ago and on many forums they recommend the use of ZeroSSL' RSA CA due to its CA being issued way before LetsEncrypt. For the record, I've also tried it with a new ZeroSSL ECC cert (ec-256) which uses a different chain and I'm getting the same results. It works on the Plex client but not on Emby (Same Android TV device). Tomorrow I'll bind Emby to localhost and try with Nginx as proxy/ssl-offloader instead. Will post back the results.

No, the plug-in is not dead. I've just been busy with life/work and haven't had a chance to sit down and debug what's happening. Reading your posts, there are a lot of moving factors. The plug-in doesn't do any data collection, only aggregation, from Emby. Emby in turn pulls some info from the local DB and other data from the TVBD plugin. So in some examples I could see where the local DB has an episode that hasn't been updated via TVDB. I also need to review how I'm handling specials. Since in some places specials are included with episodes and others it's not.

It calculates how the USERS have ENGAGED with items in the server. You can also choose your own top picks by the way. There is more then one way to use the plugin. In fact, the main issue of having extras in Season 0 is that those will appear as "next episode to see" after you see a real season 0 episode. Example: - S00E001 Is the final TV Show Episode - EXTRA 1: Is the Opening with no Credits (Creditless) - EXTRA 2: Is the Ending with no Credits (Creditless) After I watch the S00E001 as Show ending, in the Home page will appear EXTRA 1 as the "next episode to see" ...

The biggest advantage of MySQL and equivalent databases that I would see is the possibility of a proper query cache for any kind of item lists like the dashboard latest items (which take 10+ seconds on my setup), collections, playlists etc. rather than the page cache of sqlite which needs to recalculate those rarely changing query results repeatedly. Another advantage would be the possibility of creating materialized views of any time taking queries, so whenever the items change, it takes very little time to update the results.

Simply put, a single internal database is the predominant limiting factor for scalability. That was my primary concern, not performance. I would love to run Emby in my kubernetes cluster but currently cannot do so.

mysql is a much better database than sqlite. Can bring higher performance and stability.

Samsung only allow us to provide updates for 5 years, so it's possible that 2019 models have hit that limit. Occasionally Samsung miss deploying on a model range, so that could also be why it is not updated. Let's see what happens after the next update.
