I haven't seen the Plex one but the JF one works well. Turn about is fair play, so Emby devs could in theory implement the JF changes directly since JF is open source or use it as a jumping off point so I don't suspect difficulty is the reason Emby does not have it yet.3 points

Sorry, not sure I'm following - instead of library access you'd restrict folder access, net result would be the same: users without 4K access still wouldn't see those items, users with access would have single series/multi-versioned episodes. Or I misunderstood your reply?2 points

I believe a nice added feature is to have the ability to timeout partially watched shows automatically. Being able to set an expiration of resume point on titles. My kids love to watch videos but never seem to finish then, so they have a ton of titles that have resume points. What would be a nice addon would be the ability to either set the resume point to expire after X number of days. By default the resume point will be kept indefinitely. Adding in, let's say, "30" will then set all the resume points last set 30 days ago to expire and the resume point data be removed from the title for the user. This should be a global setting that applies to all users in the system. Wording of the feature can be different. Thanks, \ above11 point

I've been using the premium plugin for video backdrops and I'm not satisfied with the quality. I started creating video backdrops from anime openings and i want to share them. The backdrops are HD or FHD, 10-140mb (depending on source) and audio normalized. They are mostly japanese audio. //This is used for cutting the openings ffmpeg -ss 00:00:00 -to 00:00:00 -i theme.mkv -c copy theme2.mp4 //This is used for audio normalization ffmpeg -i theme2.mp4 -filter:a loudnorm theme.mp4 Download link: DIGI Drive Install: Just copy the backdrops folder inside the corresponding anime folder, and rescan library. Do not forget to enable video themes from the user profile settings. I'll keep adding more and share them.1 point

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations1 point

It would be useful if the server (or perhaps clients) could cache most (if not all) content images (posters, backdrops, logos, etc) for movies, TV series and seasons. This would mainly be of benefit when a portion of someone's content is offline but the users would still like to view the content to know what exists. I think caching on the server would be preferable, then all clients could make use of the same cached images. if you think this would be a useful feature, please click the "Like This" button on this post.1 point

You are 100% correct. I forgot about folder restrictions. Thanks for the assist1 point

You can add both the 4k path and 1080 path to a single library. Series will get grouped by emby then. Thete is no need for a plugin, unless you still require two deparate libraries for some reason.1 point

OK I tested with the same combination and it worked just fine. Both were downloaded. So perhaps something may have been resolved in an update that will be coming your way.1 point

It has been brought up before but not sure if anyone has looked at it as the plugin was only design for movies.1 point

Im not sure what I did or if it just needed a minute to update by after going through and taking all these screengrabs with you, it seems to be working now. I appreicate all the help. The solution appears to be doing the IP Passthrough followed by adjusting the port warding.1 point

Hi Using Kodi in conjunction with the Emby Trakt plugin and Up Next causes some hiccups. I only use one user for myself which is on my main RPi and desktop and also if I'm using my phone etc remotely. I want to keep this setup with the ability to continue watching on all devices. Would it be possible to add an option to exclude clients, in my case Kodi, from the Trakt plugin? That way I can scrobble with the Kodi plugin that shouldn't have this problem, but also keep scrobbling as usual with other devices and keep my library updated on Trakt. Thanks1 point
-
Are you using Tract plugin. That could sync back watch state if not configured right.1 point
-
Yes. That doesn't matter, Emby includes its own ffmpeg.1 point

So I think I've narrowed it down to the C2. Swapped soundbars for both TVs. The Q990C now connected to the C2 reproduces the same issue with exact symptoms. Picture freezes permanently unless I manually switch to a lossy track if available. Soundbar info display also shows stereo PCM instead of dolby digital. The Q800D now connected to the C1 plays normally and shows dolby digital on soundbar info display when transcoding unsupported audio. Maybe the last update to the LG app to fix DTS audio not working on the C2 after LG updated the 2023 models to allow DTS passthrough is somehow related to this. Just spitballing here.1 point

They may not trust the ZeroSSL RSA Domain Secure Site CA or the root USERTrust RSA Certification Authority. You could try to add the CA manually, if there's an option to install a CA from storage, and see if that resolves it, otherwise switch to the ZeroSSL ECC Domain Secure Site CA/USERTrust ECC Certification Authority issued certificates. EDIT: Your chain is missing the root certificate, that could also be what's missing. There should be your cert at 0, intermediate at 1, and root at 2.1 point

No, the plug-in is not dead. I've just been busy with life/work and haven't had a chance to sit down and debug what's happening. Reading your posts, there are a lot of moving factors. The plug-in doesn't do any data collection, only aggregation, from Emby. Emby in turn pulls some info from the local DB and other data from the TVBD plugin. So in some examples I could see where the local DB has an episode that hasn't been updated via TVDB. I also need to review how I'm handling specials. Since in some places specials are included with episodes and others it's not.1 point

follow the guide for how to install in docker https://github.com/Cheesegeezer/MediaInfoWiki/wiki/Various-OS-Installation-Help#5-docker it will take you through how to install the components and what reference you need to put in the plugin settings. Note, you are installing them inside the docker container itself as the apps need to run from inside the container. If you don not use one of the scripts, whenever you rebuild the emby container, you will need to follow this process. As this is a plugin - you control what libraries it runs on and when. It will default to once a day. One of the settings for the plugin is what libraries to run over. It will then work in a very similar manner as the library scanner does. So if you only want to run on one library at a time, you could certainly just manually set it one by one. I find that once the initial run is done, if you set it to run on changes made, it really doesn't cause too much overhead as it is rare to add large volumes of media in one go. Being a plugin also means that its not planned to go into Emby at all, as it is not made by the emby staff, rather a member of the community. While we have seen in the past code from various popular plugins become part of emby, this is at the discretion of the emby team. Note, it is not modifying the media files at all, it is modifying Embys library records to add additional data to them for display. If you are storing .nfo files into your media folders, then these would have changes made to them but are very small files (I have 80+TB libraries with no issues).1 point

In fact, the main issue of having extras in Season 0 is that those will appear as "next episode to see" after you see a real season 0 episode. Example: - S00E001 Is the final TV Show Episode - EXTRA 1: Is the Opening with no Credits (Creditless) - EXTRA 2: Is the Ending with no Credits (Creditless) After I watch the S00E001 as Show ending, in the Home page will appear EXTRA 1 as the "next episode to see" ...1 point

Wieso nur Text anpassen? Besser wäre ein Button, "nächste Episode abspielen" - wenn man nichts drückt, dann automatisch zurück zur Oberfläche. Also zusätzlich "Play next episode" ohne "automatically" Option. Sollte doch wohl nicht so schwer sein.1 point

For regular movies the default Emby thumbnails are usually perfect. Just for home movies this will be used.1 point

I'm OK with the second problem, but we'll see. Why isn't ILibraryPostScanTaskWithDirectoryService available for autodiscovery? That would have helped. ICustomMetdataProvider wasn't in the wiki or examples I used and I haven't run into it yet when exploring Emby directly but I'll check it out soon. Thanks for the tip! Especially if that fixes the add/remove files problem and no longer requires me to double update the database. EDIT: Also, today's code was written to handle every BaseItem gracefully since I wasn't entirely sure what setups might be used throughout the application. I'm happy to know I can rely on every node to be a Folder!1 point

So far so good, I have not had to restart it yet. Seems like adding an ipv6 address to the container may have fixed it. I guess with unraid have a dual stack setup it was probably causing some dns issues inside the container. I'll give it some more time and look in the logs and see what I find this week.1 point

Hi, we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.1 point

Emby no longer uses xml playlists and moved to m3u. You will have to use playlists folder as userplaylists is Emby user drive and controlled per db linked permissions. I guess you can make a dummy/custom one in Emby then manipulate in the userplaylists folder. It is sort still there as they are in the same folder /emby-server/data/playlists and /emby-server/data/userplaylists1 point

I "solved" it by deleting all my channels and EPGS, making a backup, then creating a new server, importing the backup and re-adding the channels and EPGs. I think this was due to a lot of channel manipulation, deleting and re-adding channels and such. I feel this was a long time coming as modifying channels has been problematic for a while. I have a copy of the data if you'd like it, but might be a very, very rare issue you'd be chasing down.1 point

Check out the Emby beta builds from Test Flight. The most recent beta (1.8.9.9) was released only 8 days ago. There have been at last 6 builds in the past 90 days. Clearly, Emby for Apple TV is not dead and the team is working to improve functionality.1 point

@SchleudertraumaI tried to repoduce your reported problem of old playback sessions showing up on the Now Playing screen I restarted the android android mobile device whilst the Emby for Android app was streaming a transcoded video. The server did correctly remove the Now Playing session from the screen/ I also tried by shutting down the Android phone during playback and again the server did a minute later remove the session - after not getting any of the expected periodic /emby/Sessions/Playing/Progress requests So I think what we need when the problem arises again, is to capture the screenshot, and capture all the log files - they should go back 3 days. In the case you reported on the 16th of July, one of the sessions was streaming on the 14th so you would have had the logs for that time and suggest you just copy the Logs folder out "/var/lib/emby/logs" and zip the copy and send me the zip in a PM. Alternatively use the web interface to download redacted log files and zip and attach the zip here including the ffmpeg log files and going back a number of days.1 point

Use the EmbyforKodi add-on as your database setup method. After that install and enable SimpleIPTV. It's a native Kodi PVR client that can be found in the base Kodi repository. Then you just go to the EmbyforKodi config page and under Sync/Manage Libraries you choose Sync Live TV. I think Embycon also has this working in sort of the same way as another option.1 point

I like this idea. I've always managed them manually. It'd be best if it doesn't modify the watched status and just removes the resume point. Meaning if the item was previously watched but in progress, leave it watched. If it was previously unwatched but in progress, leave it unwatched. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Alright, I can see that our conversation is going to consistently end up with you unhappy, and being argumentative. But the plugin is NOT misleading at all. I'm pretty sure I've explained how the backend of the USER ENGAGEMENT is calculated. It is called user engagement, and that is EXACTLY what it does. It calculates how the USERS have ENGAGED with items in the server. You can also choose your own top picks by the way. There is more then one way to use the plugin. I've been polite, and kept my cool for long enough. I've attempted to help you, I've offered you your money back. I think we are done here. Pm me your email for the refund. Anyone else who has been follow this thread will have to agree the conversation is over. Thanks for trying it out, sorry it wasn't what you expected.0 points
