In the end code changes to try and accommodate everyone mish-mash naming schemes and Mixed Contents guessing game will get it wrong do to conditions of what am I are not met. Since Emby has to guess more specific rules will have to be applied as numbers are a representation of what as in most cases could be just a SEASON folder. But personally would like Emby to Enforce only supported naming/structure shown in KB and not deviate for how the media was named when they downloaded it.

Try naming it 2012 (2009) {TmdbId-14161} It all commes down to YOU naming. Movie Naming or TV Naming By just throwing this S"#t at it, how would emby know what it is, when you are using mixed folders. Twister Volcano 2012 Read the above links.

Im having the same issue, cannot connect from my iPad Pro, on the latest Emby App and iOS versions... Edit: When i connect to the IP:8096 in the ipad browser I simple get a 'Forbidden' message. Edit 2: My mistake, my tailscale IP changed for my iPad, so I didnt have it in my Emby whitelist.

It would be a great feature to allow an option for how many days back for the tv guide to go for providers that offer catchup services. You can then go back in he guide and play whatever you want like a PVR always.

Update - 18 July 2024 OK, so in this update you have the option to Prefer Extended Cast Information So, What does that mean? ADM by default gets the cast as listed from various websites as comma seperated values which it has saved in its database (it doesnt connect to these sites). e.g. for this movie (https://www.jeedoo.com/product/1958794-Big-Booty-White-Girls/) the ADM information server will have added to its database:- the CSV data: Somina, Luisa Rosso, Isobel, Mia Bang, Melanie Crush (Click Details to see this information on the site) ADM will then add the cast Names as Entries, but will NOT assign them with a provider id unless it detects one in the server data directory for that person . To do that you will need this turned on. Without provider ids, the same name will link across all records as tthe same person. A provider id ensures that the person has their own unique record. The feature mentioned here (Prefer Extended Cast Information) will not use the CSV Data, but will check the ADM Server for a data file which contains Actors WITH provider ids, like this: Director: Justin Slayer [IAFDG:2a51536e-201f-4a2d-a6a8-272ba1616184] Cast: Boz [IAFDG:6813ec37-79e0-4c24-a645-912ee51d12af] Cast: H. This should now make emby create an entry for each individual, and not just one that fits all. The previous versions updated every single time it detected that the online versions filesize was greater than the offline version and that inluded even if there was only 1 movie added to it, There is no longer any need to update it so often. Turning off daily update in the settings page will also increase speeds. There will be no waiting for an update or any clash waiting for the update file to be released by the server if the server is writing to the file. You do not need it on unless the item you are wanting to fetch was added since it was updated in the online database, or since it was last turned on, or you dont have the database on your system. I have also changed the access key - in order to make users come here and see that theres an update. To use this one please remove the old version, and install this one. This version should be a lot faster! - Typically 3-4 seconds per movie with logging turned on, even faster when logging is off! However there is now an option to grab the full dvd (full landscape front & back) covers as backdrops if you wish. If enabled these will show in backdrop searches. Partial Prep work is now there for Extended Cast information, this will be another way to get more Provider id's and better Cast records - which in turn enable the correct information to be fetched by Tmdb or TvMaze. Its not working yet, but the ground work is almsot complete so thats why you can see it. This will get know actor names when aliases have been used on dvd releases and use them instead. This can also be achieved with ADMv2's Person metadata refresh, but when this part is ready it will add it at initial import of the movie! 6. Logging has been improved and split accross files of each timestamped activity. Leave dissabled for speed. Use when you want to find out whats not working and why. 7. I have aslo fixed the Identify logging so you can see what its doing and what seach (found) item throws the error. I have also added a log option to show where the data is missing from the server - log XML Errors 8 Aug 2023 Identified another issue with identify failing, MovieList file lock causing Identify to abruptly fail resulting in 0 results when media adding/metadata scanning at the same time uses the same file. * Added a wait until file lock release to the MovieList (Up to 5 Second delay), should be less than 1 sec for any of the ADM processes. This will also work in scanning metadata and adding items to the library, so *should* prevent anything failing to use the MovieList for lookups. Pleae note: that the speed of the search depends of the words you use, if you use something common such as "girlfriend" then you will get 1000's of results and the dialog may take a few minutes to respond. Exactly @Happy2PlayEmby should NOT cater to the Lasy bumps, that use there download folder as there media library. I do see @itgreen9confusion, but software change, and using naming conventions, will help Emby identify, and save you, your headaches.

So, the fixes from last night (permission change, and browsing to the folders rather than entering manually) borked it, and the menu then generated thumbnails for thousands of files from the share which emby knew nothing about. I changed it back and still the same, so today I deleted all the libraries and did them again from scratch this time with the permission set from the shared folder as advised and then configured the libraries and rescanned - we are now back to normal ;-). However, I have no idea if it has fixed the erroneous transcoding thumbnails appearing, which was the start of the thread so I will need to see what happens. Thanks for the help everyone.

@Luke, man, I'd love to see this... I just learned of both TVE (yes, I was klewless! lol) and Channels: that it was everything I'd wished existed to gain access to the two cable subscriptions I have with Spectrum in the north and Xfinity in the south . And there it is...TVE. So I subscribed to a Channels account yesterday. But I like the Emby experience by orders of magnitude more -- manner of storing recordings and its metadata, Library UI, Admin UI, countless more ways -- and would switch to Emby TVE without question. So TVE integration even if a paid-for add-on service to my lifetime emby subscription would make that emby sub way way more valuable to me. Instead, for the time being, I'm manually categorizing TVE sourced Channels recordings that are placed all together under the 'global' folders that it uses into uniquely names folders and moving those into my Emby library folders; I love that Emby uses separate folders for media and really dislike that Channels does not. A needless chore I hope can be ended by Emby supporting TVE streaming.

Yes you neglected to supply log from that. Lets see logs from using embycon. But better server hw would help you a lot. Ether that or stop trying to stream videos that dos not direct play.

If you have both Generate video preview thumbnails & Generate intro video markers in the library options set to as a scheduled task and when media is added then you shouldn't need to do anything extra. As a worst case scenario, you could always run the specified scheduled task for each of them via the API.

The other services can easier control your viewing experience because they are in control of it through their central servers. We don't work like that. This is still a feature we are interested in but, given its complexity, we just haven't gotten there yet.

Hey all, I'm heartbroken to say my dad passed away on Monday 1st July after a 6 year battle with heart attacks, an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Parkinsons and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Ironically, it's now the other way around. And what makes this decision even worse is that it was always possible to hide the collection library in user settings.

Hllo guys, it will be nice to have a feature to rewind livetv back to 7 Days i know than you can rewind as much as you want since the buffer save the data on the device, but how about saving the data on the server and rewind every channel (Or desired channels) from data saved on the server ? Can someone tell me if a such plugin exist or if this feature already exist i would like to have a rewind live tv feature from back to 7 Days Kind Regards
