  1. Hi guys, I noticed that Emby supports multiple artists within the artist field (separated by semicolon ; ) and this feature enables the "Appears On" section within the artist page. Super Cool So, now, i can use the semicolon to separate "featured" artists in all the tracks and stop using the traditional "feat." One particular issue this creates is that the "Artists" section now becomes a dumping ground "littered" with all kind of "lower quality" artists (some of them really underground that appears just on singles). I mean it's ok, we have "Album Artists" for the "big guys" and "Artists" for "general population" One suggestion though ... In the Artist "profile" page, within the "More Like This" section, can we use "Album Artist" instead of "Artist" ? It's cool that i can see more artists like the one i'm viewing, within the same genre ... just wanted to switch that module from displaying "album artists" instead of "artists" in order to eliminate the "lower quality" ones (those that appears only on "features" within tracks). PS: Thanks for all your work !

  2. Yes, having a “default artist” setting that controls what type of artist (album artist, artist, composer) is displayed in suggestions is a great solution. In my case the “Artist” top-level tab and it’s page is totally useless and redundant. If i could i would just completely remove it Since i use the multi-artist feature (separating feat. artists by semicolon in the artist field) … the main and relevant artists within my library are the “Album Artists”. All the rest are just clutter. Even if you have a “singles” based library without actual albums, having the “album artist” tag filled will help to differentiate the main artist from the feat/collab within a multi-artist per song scenario.

  3. Hi, two reasons for this: Usually when you use the Identify feature, you are changing from something incorrect to something new, therefore the text will be different. At least this is the purpose of the feature A long time ago we had it pre-filled, and no matter how much help text we added, users would click Next without changing any details, and then think something was wrong with Emby when they got no results on the next screen.

  4. I totally agree with this request. When composers are blended with album artists I have well over 5,000 people to sift through. I love having the tabs for each type of person but would love the option to set a default artist display anywhere such displays exist.

  5. Thanks I had to modify slightly to manage empty Device Array it would seem, which slowed down release slightly. But have tested and released to Emby Plugin Store, still not completely sure why the github https thumbnail image remains blank on my testing (but is comestic only…) Although also caught up and translated this thread, which hadn't seen until now... 6. I've also noticed that the "More Like This" section may also include "Composers" in some instances. Therefore this is another area of Emby where the combining of "Album Artists", "Artists" and "Composers" can be useful for some, but problematic for others. I would personally agree with this sentiment, but think that more flexibility is also worthwhile to allow for diverse use-cases: Some people are contemporary album-oriented! Others have a dedicated classical composer-focussed music library! Others just want to make playlists of songs! Many have some combination of the above! Most have a diverse music library and a unique way of curating and listening to it! Yes, the combining of the three entities does cause pollution/dilution of the various music views and therefore much frustration in many instances. Perhaps the ultimate solution is better filtering/grouping options, across the UI, to allow for differences in personal preference? It's good that Emby has "Album Artist", "Artist" and "Composer" as top-level menu tabs. It would be really great if more options were available beyond this!!!

  8. That seems to have done it. Unchecking, closing the settings. Refreshing the page. Opening the settings, checking the metadata, refreshing and then refreshing metadata has solved the issue. Thank you

  9. Haven't visited the forums for quite a while (because Emby just works, I don't need to!). Been here since the old MediaBrowser Windows MCE days. Good times! I used to bug @ebrso much in those early days haha.

  10. We all know rather a movie, TV special, TV series even when ALL the info is correct there are items for whatever reason still have to manually be fixed. Personally I think it's something to do with TVDB itself and not Emby.

  12. another example of a mismatch to add for testing, the correct series directory existed in the library already Sorting file \\10.1.0.21\Sorting\Me.S01.E10...The.End.of.the.Beginning.mp4 to new path \\10.1.0.21\Media\TV\Merlin (2008)\Season 1\Merlin.S01.E10...The.Moment.of.Truth.mp4

  13. Not much has changed, the first post is still correct. If you are using EmbyCon and having issues setting it up, best to post in the EmbyCon sub forum. Unfortunately the Embuary skin is no longer maintained, it has its own thread and there are a few dedicated user helping out there to get users up and running with the latest Kodi releases trying to use this skin.

  15. Youtube could be used as inspiration on this one. Pic below for reference. Their buffer health and connection speed can be super useful when troubleshooting a weak connection, especially for Live TV that seems to have a *very* finnicky (or short?) buffer on Emby.

  16. Each media distributor has licensing available. Often trailers are no charge. You have to ask each studio separately. Otherwise, you pay for a conglomerator, apparently like Fabricdata where they get free trailers and then charge you for their use. You can try various studios and see what happens. They usually want to see some pathway for the use of a trailer to end up with a sale of the media. If a link to purchase the product were to be included with the trailer view, it would probably make it easier to get free trailers. Example from where I used to work: https://clips.mgm.com/home

  17. I would love per device configs. It's so dumb I need another user for my music library just so that's all it displays on my phone. I'll never watch TV/movies on my phone, only music.

  18. UP! This thing still exists and is really frustrating sometimes because it "devalues" all the artists recommendations within the "more like this" section in the artist profile page. Since we use the semicolon (;) to split multiple artists, now we have a huge amount of "obscure" or "feat." artists that litters Emby. Maybe you guys should focus the interface on "Album Artists" instead of "Artists". Basically, all the main artists in a music collection are "Album Artists" and by using the "Artist" you devalue recommendations. I think that "More Like This" section in the Artist profile page should be populated by "Album Artists" instead of "Artists". Since i implemented the multiple artist semicolon separation; even the "Artist" main page became irrelevant since is cluttered with everybody making it totally useless Please, focus on "Album Artists" through the interface.

  21. What are you even talking about? Try and stay on topic. Emby Watch Party. Most people posting here want it. There, I summed it up for you.

  22. Many users want this and the competitors already have it, and have had the feature for years. We're just tired of waiting and hearing, "it's planned for a future release".

  23. I do think it would be helpful to give a bit more info about this kind of thing in general though. e.g. 'this feature is planned for future updates but unfortunately there's a lot of things in the list above it', or 'this feature is planned for future updates and the good news is its nearly at the top', or 'this feature is planned for future updates and its near the top but there's a few biggies in the way which will take a while'.

  24. Who really want this? You’re in the minority. They have larger issues like no Dolby vision and a bunch of other issues with the appletv client. Hopefully this one never comes. You’re also posting in the plug-in forum not feature request. Does this feature work with plex on Roku. Emby claims they can’t issue remote commands to Roku so how would they be able to keep the videos in sync, so wondering if plex does.
