I figured it out. Apparently there have been some recent changes with my surfshark vpn program which caused emby's call outs to "api4.thetvdb.com" to be blocked. Thanks for the quick reply tho - always appreciate you all.

Update - 18 July 2024 OK, so in this update you have the option to Prefer Extended Cast Information So, What does that mean? ADM by default gets the cast as listed from various websites as comma seperated values which it has saved in its database (it doesnt connect to these sites). e.g. for this movie (https://www.jeedoo.com/product/1958794-Big-Booty-White-Girls/) the ADM information server will have added to its database:- the CSV data: Somina, Luisa Rosso, Isobel, Mia Bang, Melanie Crush (Click Details to see this information on the site) ADM will then add the cast Names as Entries, but will NOT assign them with a provider id unless it detects one in the server data directory for that person . To do that you will need this turned on. Without provider ids, the same name will link across all records as tthe same person. A provider id ensures that the person has their own unique record. The feature mentioned here (Prefer Extended Cast Information) will not use the CSV Data, but will check the ADM Server for a data file which contains Actors WITH provider ids, like this: Director: Justin Slayer [IAFDG:2a51536e-201f-4a2d-a6a8-272ba1616184] Cast: Boz [IAFDG:6813ec37-79e0-4c24-a645-912ee51d12af] Cast: H. If this information is not avaliabe (yet), it will automatically fall back to the CSV data AND will look up if there are any provider ids avaliable for this person within this movie data. This is a further expansion on the update from the 15th July 2024 Because Adult information is so mixed up across sites and can be severely limited in different areas, ADM utilises several different methods to complete the information as much as possible. Currently because of this ADM is not as fast as Tmdb etc ADMv2(18July2024).zip Update - 15 July 2024 Added more provider id support for actors/directors/writers/producers, ADM will check if there is a known provider id for the actor it is adding at the time of adding the movie, this will help to prevent same actors for different movies that have a the same name, but are a different person. This should now make emby create an entry for each individual, and not just one that fits all. This will also work in scanning metadata and adding items to the library, so *should* prevent anything failing to use the MovieList for lookups. Pleae note: that the speed of the search depends of the words you use, if you use something common such as "girlfriend" then you will get 1000's of results and the dialog may take a few minutes to respond. I spent lots of time looking for a script that would migrate user watched history from plex to emby without luck so I decided to just write one myself. This project contains a few python scripts that will help you migrate some of the data from your plex server to you emby server. The scripts match using IMDB, TVDB , and TMDB. Right now there are two main scripts. The first one is named metadata-migration.py . It will migrate the following data: Posters Title Original Title Sort Title Parental Rating Labels/Tags The second one is named watched-history-migration.py . This script can migrate watched history for any user but there is a caveat. You have to be able to get that user's plex token. Checkout the readme in the project repository for more details. I don't know if related but yesterday there was an update to the plug-in and now I'm getting this error. Search for subtitles works and gets results but can't download, get the "Not Acceptable" error.

Can confirm this when I setup a fresh server a few weeks ago with the latest beta at that time. I needed to set it to true manually since I don't like the extra folder layer.

I don't believe it does work in those cases. Even @rbjtechhad it to set to true in the system.xml which is why he didn't have any type 3 in the DB. It becomes a nested structure with only the movie folders themselves under the library subfolders and the actual movies nested within each of these folders, which is why you need to set the recursive parameter.

Doesnt really explain why the GetItemList works fine for the systems in false/false (only 5s, no 3s) but in the other format, you need to pass in "recursive = true", so there it some other kind of logic in the GetItemsList method that is obscured from me as if there are both 3/5 type records in the DB and if I dont have 3s I only get 5s, why wouldnt the person with 3 and 5s still return just the 5s since they exist, see the issue, its only returning the 3s, its the dumbest thing I guess the question would be is, if you deleted the items in the db for the 3s of type movies does your system still work

XML, dual setting as system.xml set to true overrides library options.xml option but now db only setting. So you have to use the api to change the collapse settings now. Yes that is Emby's primary method with file naming scheme. Global false allows library to be true or false. Global true overrides library option. As these have changed several times over time and believe both are false on NEW. So these setting are mixed across all older installs. Odd indeed as all my media show type 3 media folders. Unless they are just dropped in library folder then no type 3 folder. But system.xml option does appear to be relevant as I do have older test system with it set to true and items do not have type 3 parent folders unless nested.

I still believe its the CollapseVideoFolders option because that matches both the observations and the settings atm. I have the same suggestion of setting up a temporary instance and scanning in a subset of the folders with it set to true to see if the plugin works after that.

So attached is the log with the new DLL and again a snippet from the library.db (all movies have IMDB and TMDB ID) plus the api call for the example movie. The ID given out by the plugin ist 163528 for Pulp Fiction, but in library.db, API call and site url it's 165060. IT seems the plugin is requesting the IMDb and TMDB IDs from 163528 which is the folder where the actual movie file sits with the ID 165060 containing the ProviderIDs, like visible in the screenshot. The wrong internal ID seems to happen with every movie. I checked a handful and the IDs are all wrong, since the plugin reqests the ProviderIDs from the folder instead of the movie file itself in database. It seems that the needed actual db entries containing the ProviderIDs are all type "5", the folders are type "3". Perhaps this could be a starting point for the plugin? In comparison, I checked the library for TV shows, since the plugin works with that. There are the ProviderIDs also in the folder entries of the DB. Server Name If you think that your server name would be revealing anything in any way, please rename it (e.g. "Emby" or if you have multiple for example "Emby1", "Emby2") Server Version This is crucial for clients to log in, it can't be hidden. But it really doesn't change much for an attacker, because One could instead just find out the API differences between specific versions of Emby Server and make a request to a new or removed endpoint in order to know the server version (at least approximately) In most cases, one would try the exploit right away instead of querying the version before (one request less for each server)

I had a concept for preventing detection by shodan et al., just need to find it again, but the key points I remember: They are not using this API endpoint for detection in the first place So I wouldn't bother with trying to disable/hide that endpoint An HTTP request is expensive in time, so they'll surely avoid making any requests just for testing (much more expensive than an open-port check) Primary detection indicators are Port numbers (is it an "Emby Port") The returned default html document's content Miitigation methods: If the web ui is disabled for remote access, provide the exact same response like a freshly installed Apache web server Maybe allow to specify a name for the page (that you need to know in order to access the web ui) Delay the response for an API request from an unknown (not seen before) source by something like 5-8 seconds Time is precious when scanning the whole web, so they need to keep their timeouts tight and can't wait such a long time for a response It's a bit more complex, but those are the basic ideas.

Right so you've clearly not looked at the thread history - Not sure what my process has to do with anything when they key piece we are talking about is the segment of code posted which is proving the point that the GetProviderIds is returning null data, even though he has posted screen shots of the data in the SQL table, he also posted rest api to get items with providerId and it returns with providerIds. He runs the the SAME code for a series library and he DOES get results. So clearly the code is working correctly, regardless, so at this point what more logging do you want to see? I could understand if the lookup logic was having issues matching, but weve ruled that out and we arent even getting to that point, hence why I added the logging to loop over the "mediaitems" to see yes the dataset comes back, no GetProviderId(Imdb) is returned, but OP has posted screen shot of DB/UI/RestCall showing that the data is there, so now the question goes back to you, what do you want them to see? What if I just make a new SchedTask plugin with just the get media items and the loop and it doesnt return back providerids for movies. I believe when I had this code (searchType = nameof(Movie), it was returning back 0 items for him, so does that mean anything, nameof(Series) did return back items), removing the IncludeItemsTypes is atleat now returning back items, still no providerIds), the nameof(Movie) worked on my machine and rb just not these other two. Using 1080p for me i prefer the library tabs on the ATV version, they stay right where you expect them and don't need to slide around to see them all... great feature if you have touch controls but the remote has to go over each one anyways. I also don't see the point of the slide menu on the main screen, for me i only see it when backing out of the app and it just shows the same stuff that is already being shown. the normal app works great on the tablet and phone... but i prefer the ATV version on the TV. The topic was really if there was a way to disable the missing episode prompt when doing auto play in the ATV version... I have missing episodes turned off on purpose as i don't care about missing episodes... what I do care about is auto play just playing the next episode "already in the library" automatically without requiring manual intervention. Side loading 2.0.98 works but I also don't want to miss out new features in newer clients. I am hoping an option to turn off this behavior gets into a future client.

I did add the output to a text file in case I wanted to keep a log. For anyone who comes along wanting to know the same thing I originally, I decided that rbjtech was right and I should re-encode with a modern codec. This is not a transmuxing script! I just wanted to make that clear.

This isn't a good approach for identification. A custom user agent isn't possible in the web app. In other cases it will be possible in some cases but it's hard to guarantee it will be possible in all cases. For example, on most platforms, the mechanisms that pull data from Emby Server, display images, and play audio/video are three (sometimes four) different things. And often times the image rendering and audio/video player are handled by the system where a custom user agent might not be possible. And then there's external things like apps that support launching external players, device notifications that display images, etc. How are you going to get a custom user agent into those things? (You can't). You could probably sort of achieve this now without any settings in Emby though - just monitor the logging in your reverse proxy of the apps you use and whitelist. Just be aware that some things will break until you've figured out the complete list for the apps that you use.

Funnily enough, I found this thread because of the opposite: The way that it used to be with Genre > Album was exactly the way I liked it for how I listen to music and now I need an extra click to show all the albums. I do appreciate that the new screen will be useful for many people though. Perhaps a setting that could allow you to choose from "Genre overview page" (what you see now), "Genre album view", or "Genre artist view", allowing you to bypass that overview page, would be super handy.

I been having this issue for a while and had given up - But was watching something today and the lip sync was so far out I decided to take another look. I did turn off the Match Frame Rate and the same content seems to now align perfectly. I googled this setting and don't understand what the impact of turning it off is to other apps. But other apps seem to work fine with this turned on, so would like to learn more about this?

Don't know if it made a difference, but my ISP sent me an upgraded router about a month ago. That and I re-installed Emby Theater. Anyway, the good news is that I can use my phone to access all my content once again
